She feared she would hurt the child, and I told her a story about people who are fearful of hurting others to the point that they believe they might do it themselves. This one was hard for me to watch. I suffered from postpartum depression after my youngest was born. I remember the exact moment when I realized I needed help, I thought, “what would happen if I dropped my newborn off this second story railing?” I was shaking with fear and was horrified that I would think such a thing. My youngest is 19 now so that that was a long time ago but that feeling and fear of that headspace has never completely left. No one talks about this. It’s a shameful secret that you carry like a weight.
I've heard of this. It's a common symptom of postpartum depression, but a lot of women don't discuss it because of the guilt. I've also heard of this happening to people with OCD. They get an obsessive thought that they might end up killing someone, and even though they don't WANT to, have NO desire to kill anyone, they're so afraid that they might do it, that it keeps them completely isolated from people. It's really sad, because it's really rooted in thinking you're a terrible person and having low self-esteem, and nothing to do with the actual desire to kill anyone. With postpartum, I've heard it comes from fear of being a bad mother, or of something bad happening to your baby.
I don't have a kid, but I suffered with intrusive thoughts for months, and I still do but it was taking over my life, and I've now got it under control. You can heal, you can get better. Stay strong, get help.
The way this short film encapsulates horror is great. The guilt of the instrustic thoughts and the urge contrasting with the reality of the situation was very well done!
the moment where her friend can no longer make their plans which the new mom was looking forward to so much because she's going through a hard time was so relatable. It's a stinging pain, you feel invisible, and don't want to tell anyone because other people have their lives too.
I went through some intrusive thoughts times in my life and, let me tell you it feels like you are becoming more and more of a monster. My psychologist told me that mothers experience the same thing when the have severe anxiety and start thinking about protecting their babies, even from themselves. You can see it like an act of love towards someone you care about while you feel desperate and lost un your life. Please, if you suffer these kinds of things go see a doctor and seek proffesional help, talk with someone, care about your own mental health and others wellbeing.
I'm not a mom, but have PTSD, and although our thoughts are not facts, those thoughts can get extremely "loud" and persistent, annoying, and definitely can make one feel like they are this horrible, cruel human being. They suck!
Postpartum is very real I went through it myself after losing my first born and then getting pregnant again with my daughter I had thoughts of killing my daughter everyday I had to get mental help thank God I had my family there to help me through it but postpartum is very very very real and it's nothing to joke about I really love this episode because it shows that
This gave me goosebumps. Brings me back to a very dark time. Shines a light on the fact that our tribe is not alone as we battle through the raw birth of becoming MOTHER. Xo
The very last scene the father drop kicks the baby out of the window and shouts "goal"! Cut to mother who is now wearing a football kit. Roll credits. Turns out this was a goalkeeper having anxiety about a penalty.
Ok, now that was just too damn funny!!!! I was giving thumbs up on all the good input on post partum and how important it is to talk about it.....and then this...too damn funny!!! :) :)) :)))
Think my mother may have had suffered from postpartum condition. I can't imagine the fearful thoughts she felt or thought. I'm sorry for any mother going through this. You are not alone and you are not a terrible mother. You are loved by the best high. There are alot of peer groups on Facebook or online to assist you with open arms to support. Sending love to all mothers who feel this way.
Damn postpartum is no joke. I've been through it twice. The first time I was very bad but I kept my head up. I'm going through it now with my second child and I'm even worse. Between one kid to the second I had three misscarages. Postpartum is no joke.
Mental health is, alas, still too difficult discuss openly. Mention feeling "blue" or "down" twice to your doctor and you will soon be diagnosed and prescribed. Your (if you are lucky to have one!) insurance company will reclassify you and you now have a lifelong "preexisting condition." But staying silent isn't the answer, either. Difficult.
Post partum depression/psychosis can be caused by severe chemical imbalances in the mother after giving birth. It's not only a psychological condition, but a severe medical condition, and anyone who experiences any symptoms of this should get help immediately. The truth is, depending on the severity of the post partum condition, usually the mom suffers the most and sometimes it gets so bad that they either kill themselves, or they get to the point where they may neglect the child or place them in risky situations that can harm the child. Get help and don't be afraid to ask....and don't be ashamed. New mama's really need help. No one has their first child and knows everything or is a perfect mother. In this world, mothers need to help new mothers and be there for them, as there's so much anxiety, fear, and loneliness that can come at the most amazing and beautiful event in someone's lives. No mama is perfect, nor should anyone ever think that a new mom should be perfect in every way after bearing a child for the first time.
This is what’s called Postpartum Psychosis. It is very real and triggering. The intrusive thoughts she was having about killing her baby was her mind playing tricks. She, sanely, knows she would never hurt her BUT in a psychosis state she easily could have. Sadly, this happens a lot more frequently than people think.
Then the short film, itself, was well done! And did its job . Sometimes scary and uncomfortable things - when dealing with REAL life situations and circumstances - MUST be seen by others for them to begin to be aware and understand, if not TRY. We all need to help one another when times are tough and unbalanced 💝
Yep, this grabs you by the throat from the start and never lets go. Great film. It also parallels depression (not just Postpartum) and self harm. Incredible story telling here.
I had PPD after my first son was born, I was only 15 and I think it may have been triggered by his horrendously difficult and painful delivery . I remember crying for hours on end thinking that I was useless and that my baby would be better off without me , I can’t say I ever wanted to physically hurt him but I felt completely indifferent to him. I fed him, changed him , bathed him but I felt no pleasure in these things , I was exhausted and looking after him was a chore. I went onto have 2 more children and thankfully never experienced it again ... it’s a terrible thing .
This film was a masterpiece. Postpartum depression is a real issue mothers experience, I hear about the terrible things my mom had to endure because her mother suffered from it and didn't receive treatment. I can't imagine the psychological terror mothers face and the worst part is the ridicule they fear...
Damn that was dark.. It's scart to know that this kind of a condition does exist. People suffering from such a condition must be helped and taken care of.

I suffered severe post-partum depression and anxiety after my second baby was born. My family were so supportive and really helped me get through... but if you can combine help from those close to you with counseling from a licensed therapist, DO IT. You aren't alone! 💜
As a father I can understand this very well because my 1st child was born with colic and the crying was constant. I stayed with our daughter to give my wife a break and go to her grandmothers house so I know what she had to deal with on a day to day basis as I left for work. 11 yrs and 2 brothers later, she's still a little brat. 😂😂 The boys weren't that bad except now being 4 and 5 yrs old. 😳😵
What is postpartum feel like? I mean, I have random thoughts that I’ll NEVER do. I’ll look at my cat and be like, “I could kill her,” but in actuality I would never hurt her. Is it like that?
My mom had postpartum depression and anxiety. She told me about how she was so worried that we were gonna die or that she wasn’t gonna be able to love me or my sister. She had to sleep on the floor next to our crib becajse she was so worried
after birth hormonal changes are real and severe depression is Not absent those who have healthy family relationship and strong support will Not feel it that much but others like this new mom will face the struggles more intensely ! Seriously challenging! Often people think that after baby is born there should be feelings of intense joy but sadly the opposite is the case!
I understand her pain. I have one child who's now 4. Postpartum was so bad. All I wanted to do was make sure the baby stayed alive until her father got home. I was so blessed to have family always come over and check on me and the baby. I don't want any more kids ever. Just listening to this baby cry so much in this short film is triggering.
What I find is that men think they are so busy with their own lives going to work, they don’t realise the condition their wives are or what they are going through. Not enough of postpartum depression is taught to men. I bet that many wouldn’t known what it is until it’s too late.
As a mother who dealt with postpartum depression this is really hard to watch and I stopped watching when they were sitting beside the bathtub (I just assumed something worse was going to happen).
This is a scary depiction of post-partum psychosis. If you're a new mom and having intrusive thoughts or uncontrollable urges, please see a doctor immediately. It's treatable with medication and will eventually resolve.
The writer of this film should have included the statistics for postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis and the need for better mental health awareness/care for new mothers.
Hi Violet! I’m the writer of this film and thank you so much for watching. We actually did initially include some statistics in the first run of this film as well as links to find help. We ended up taking them out because we wanted to leave the film open to interpretation by the audience and we were unsure about if we were hitting them in the face too much with the subject matter/sounding too much like a PSA. I sincerely appreciate this comment though because it was a legit back and forth conversation we had as producers. We had the exact same thoughts.

She feared she would hurt the child, and I told her a story about people who are fearful of hurting others to the point that they believe they might do it themselves. The fact is, it's a form of OCD, and it's often because they care too much.
M Gray yeah OCD can have intrusive thoughts too but I really do think this woman has PPD
@@Tadpole_Plyrr2 She's not depressed, though. I believe this to be a different diagnosis
M Gray how is she not depressed? You don’t always want to die with depression she looks depressed to me
@@Tadpole_Plyrr2 Depression doesn't cause intrusive thoughts. Depression can be the result of intrusive thoughts.
Glad you are doing better. Stay strong
Xo
As a new mom to be, the possibility of getting post partum depression scares the living hell out of me :/
Hoping all went well/is going well ❤️.
Me too:(
Inform yourself how frequent it is, how to recognize it, and what to do when you have it.
The very last scene the father drop kicks the baby out of the window and shouts "goal"! Cut to mother who is now wearing a football kit. Roll credits. Turns out this was a goalkeeper having anxiety about a penalty.
OMG...I swallowed this without even chewing a little bit...I was really expecting that end!!!
Lol!!
Difficult.
außerdem könnte ne Wochenbettdepri echt recht schwierig sein zu identifizieren, grade aus der Perspektiv von jdm die neulich Mutter geworden ist.
@@sonquatsch8585 Ja. Diagnose ist alles.
Luckily, there are also the fathers, no?
God, that's kinda dark.
I don't know. It seems like a lighthearted film for the whole family
@@madisonletellier4095 Fair enough haha!
This made me feel some ways man
But very real
This is what’s called Postpartum Psychosis. It is very real and triggering. The intrusive thoughts she was having about killing her baby was her mind playing tricks. She, sanely, knows she would never hurt her BUT in a psychosis state she easily could have. Sadly, this happens a lot more frequently than people think.
Loneliness can be creepy. This is why you should have a joint family that could keep you away from such creepy thoughts.
Nicely put btw.
Postpartum depression (and postpartum psychosis, for that matter) is absolutely *_real_* and *_horrible._*
Very powerful. Very relatable. Very well acted. Very well paced! Exceptional. Very Exceptional!
This is the type of things that I hate watching and it gives me anxiety
@Mary Levin I know right😭
i honestly felt like i was gonna cry
@@bigsmellyballs same 😭
Then the short film, itself, was well done! And did its job . Sometimes scary and uncomfortable things - when dealing with REAL life situations and circumstances - MUST be seen by others for them to begin to be aware and understand, if not TRY. We all need to help one another when times are tough and unbalanced 💝
@@jsmiles3942 yea that’s true
That is Harm OCD if ya'll are confused and it feels devastating
This film was a masterpiece. Postpartum depression is a real issue mothers experience, I hear about the terrible things my mom had to endure because her mother suffered from it and didn't receive treatment. I can't imagine the psychological terror mothers face and the worst part is the ridicule they fear...
Just wanted to say thank you. I’m the writer of this film and I appreciate your kind words!
It’s sad postpartum depression is a real monster
I hated those end credits. I was like "don't hurt the baby. don't hurt the baby. DON'T YOU DARE--"
Damn that was dark..
It's scart to know that this kind of a condition does exist. People suffering from such a condition must be helped and taken care of.
It's ocd
I have it and yes some mothers with ocd have intrusive thoughts about being attracted to their baby in a sexual way too . It feels devastating
This hit hard. The anxiety the confusion. This is real. I don’t understand it but it’s real. I had postpartum with my son. Now he is 20 and fine but this film was very on comfortable to watch because this was me.
I’m happy you got through it 🙏
Any advice I’m going to therapy
Post partum depression and post partum psychosis are real, that's exactly what happens very good portraying it
All too real... my baby is 13 months now & I love her so much. I used to go down the stairs how she did being extra careful & dad comes in just throwing her around however
This is so accurate and portrayed so well.
we HAVE to do better societally to get new moms all the help they may need
Please make more really really dark and “ hard to watch” ones like this! Love it
Hi
Just wanted to say thank you. I am the writer of this film. Thank you for your kind words!
@@lilas1959i just want to say this is such an amazing film it helped me understand the intrusive thoughts loneliness & anxiety my sister is going through, my sister had gone through a c section and a gall bladder removal surgery right after, she is going through this, my parents think she's going insane and cant understand why she has these extreme thoughts, we all did too, she suffers from paranoia, anxiety and intense fear that something will happen to the baby, she feels everything is like final destination, shes keeping the baby away from guests and refuses to meet people unless they wear masks, im keeping on pushing her to get help in counselling n therapy as shes not getting her daily sleep. I feel so helpless and upset im not able to help her.
This is an amazing short film the emotion it invokes is incredible. The Acting, the Music the Lighting it is a true Masterpiece..😁
I am suffering from pure O.
I know how hard it is to spend every second while having OCD.
Even without seeing I have a feeling this might be about post-partum depression.
Um excuse me are those onions in the same bowl as the apples 😡 6:30
That’s worse than killin the baby!
LOL
Lol, I’m the writer of this film and that was how the home was set up that we filmed in and we didn’t move anything because real people lived there and let us shoot there and we didn’t move anything unless we absolutely had to, but yes I think you’re right 😂 thank you for watching.
Olive's performance was awesome! I think she's Method.
This was so nerve wracking to watch!!! I wanted to jump through the screen and save the baby.
That's a tough subject for a movie... I hope all these people end up safe and healthy and that the lady opens up and seeks for help
Yes this is true sometimes there are thoughts coming from idk tf where.
I suffered severe post-partum depression and anxiety after my second baby was born. At one point, I lost so much sleep between my infant and toddler's sleep schedules that I began to hallucinate, and my nerves were shot. Please, if you are suffering and worried you might harm your baby, get help! My family were so supportive and really helped me get through... but if you can combine help from those close to you with counseling from a licensed therapist, DO IT. You aren't alone! 💜
Wow the acting in this was so good
i will just scroll down at comment sections looking for spoilers bcz this is too triggering to watch :'( i stop at 0:17
As a father I can understand this very well because my 1st child was born with colic and the crying was constant.
Postpartum means like after birth. That’s a normal intrusive thought I believe and it’s totally normal and doesn’t make you a bad person or anything
My mom had postpartum depression and anxiety. She told me about how she was so worried that we were gonna die or that she wasn’t gonna be able to love me or my sister. She had to sleep on the floor next to our crib becajse she was so worried
God bless her !!
after birth
hormonal changes are real and severe
depression is Not absent
those who have healthy family relationship and strong support will Not feel it that much
but others like this new mom will face the struggles more intensely !
Seriously challenging!
Often people think that after baby is born
there should be feelings of intense joy but
sadly the opposite is the case!
Hope ur doing well now ❤
What I find is that men think they are so busy with their own lives going to work, they don’t realise the condition their wives are or what they are going through. Not enough of postpartum depression is taught to men. I bet that many wouldn’t known what it is until it’s too late.
As a mother who dealt with postpartum depression this is really hard to watch and I stopped watching when they were sitting beside the bathtub (I just assumed something worse was going to happen).
Pure O- OCD is like this
yess finally ! That's Harm- Ocd .
This is a scary depiction of post-partum psychosis. If you're a new mom and having intrusive thoughts or uncontrollable urges, please see a doctor immediately. It's treatable with medication and will eventually resolve.
Yes 🙏
Post-partum psychosis not depression yall
I know these things happen in life and I hated every minute of this video until the dad walks out of the room with the baby in his arms. 🙏🏻😇
This is called Postpartum Psychosis, notice that the woman on the phone was kinda know what she was into, she was her care provider and the mother was already in the Postpartum Depression. Look after your wife, your sister, your friends. This is extremely dangerous and most cases are resulting to infant death.
Nope, this is called a pro-choice syndrome. Nothing more and nothing less.
You mean it’s her choice? No this is a real condition for new mothers. There are stages in this condition.
She was seeing worms and having a psychotic episodes
@@clintthellama6417 I dunno. I never heard of such psychosis or whatever. One of my relatives is a new mother and all she was having was some small nightmares, nothing else. But this one here seemed a bit too fabricated, don't ya think? Because never had she ever even THOUGHT of murdering intents for God's sake!
I know this and I learned about this few years ago. I’m a Nurse and these things were taught to us. You can also find it in google.
Extremely relatable. Thank you for this!
if you have such intrusive thoughts and getting anxious constantly. I think you have ocd , check out on that , it's called harm-ocd .
It's not just intrusive thoughts, I think she might have hallucinations.
This is a very common thing for woman when they have a baby, Postpartum depression.
Isn't this OCD instead of depression?
@@LV03 No, OCD Obsessive-compulsive disorder, completely different from Postpartum depression.
@@lalareeves1941 I know it's a different thing, but this woman doesn't display depressed feelings, this woman has intrusive thoughts, common in people with OCD, more specific, pure O...
@@LV03 I think it’s postpartum psychosis, a lot more serious than just postpartum depression. You can hallucinate, have manic moods, be paranoid, etc. So I believe this is what they are showing she has.
@@LV03 That's not OCD lol what she has is called Postpartum psychosis
Postpartum psychosis is rarer than postpartum depression, and involves symptoms that include delusions or hallucinations and can put both the mother and her child in danger.
Tnx fr the comments guyz. These comments helped me understanding the problem, the wife is dealing with.
Wow that was a great story, bravo!
I'm not lieing... That call had me dieing... Lmao😹😹😹
Thank you for making this, very real
I’m so thankful that I didn’t go through this. But thanks for doing this film!
I'm crying. omg. well done but sooo sad :(
Gosh.. this is scary because its real
yes and that happens a lot sadly . She clearly has harm ocd . It's just most people doesn't know what ocd actually is
This is so sad & very much a reality. This is more like postpartum psychosis & it can be very devastating. My heart goes out to those who go through this. Always reach out to those who you know just delivered!
Wasn't sure on the end.Did she really try to kill the baby and it didn't work.Or it was in her head? This movie had me on the edge.
It’s all in her head. She was have intrusive thoughts on what would have happened if she actually did kill her baby. Intrusive thoughts affect many ppl and it does not mean they WANT to do what these thoughts r saying, it’s just horrible thoughts they can’t help from having.
@@thatgirl5630 Yes I know.Just wasn't sure on the end.It's a very emotional movie that's for sure.
It was in her head
thank you for this i brought this up to my psych professor who was also a therapist and they told me that harm ocd wasnt real and i was crazy
Very well made. Congratulations.
Now, this is a good one! 👏🏾
luckily,was so close.
Thought she was gonna fall past the window at the end...
I saw a very similar horror short film where she switched the Turkey.... ended up putting the baby in the oven... that was horrible

Where in the world do you find your actors omeletto??
They are all so good...so realistic. Very talented x
Reality of PPD 😞
PPP
Having PureOCD and also wanting to be a mom scares me because I’m afraid of these things happening too
Bro, she needs help like now. Bc I would not leave her with my baby man, to risky
Too risky in what way? She wouldn't actually hurt the baby, that's the whole point. She's so afraid of making a mistake and being a bad mother that she has irrational fears and doesn't trust herself to do normal things. Either way, you're right that she needs help.
hi, was it your movie I cannot find? I think it was short film..... the drone (robot) I think came from another world.... then chased the boy.... hided in his house.... then they interacted.... I think it was either killing drone, or robot within drone (or maybe even robot suit)..... the drone was round white and able to fly - and Feds or someone were after him I think... thanks
God help people with this condition....if the imaginary is so real that you can't tell the difference....this is a true nightmare.
Im not gone this might be first omeleto vid that i gotta come back and finish but u know its a good film if the first 3 minutes are getting me my feelings
