I always loved the fact that they didn’t make Michelle (Ted’s wife) a villain. This kind of thing happens, and she’s devastated by it as much as he is. It would’ve been so easy to make her a terrible person, and it’s top class that they didn’t.
Yes yes yes. Top Class indeed. I think she was even suffering more than he was (not that it is a competition). Because she knew how much it was hurting him, and telling someone who loves you with every ounce of their being that you're not interested can be very rough. But unfortunately, that won't stop some people from vilifying her. Makes me think about characters like "Jenny" from Forrest Gump.
@@FrankFreezy_ so true man. You’re such an emotionally intelligent person, and watching you react to this show is an absolute joy. You don’t miss a thing. Keep it up man.
It's wild to me how many people hated her during the show. I mean, I love Ted Lasso, but can you imagine being married to him? Especially before his growth arc? He's the poster child for toxic positivity and shoving down any negative. That's not healthy, especially in a marriage.
Fun fact: Before going into acting, Dani Rojas’s actor used to play futbol professionally in Guadalajara, but had to quit bc of a knee injury. He’s probably why we get the first good long & closeup shot of some actual football play.
One of the things the fanbase for the show were delighted to hear when it was new is that Juno Temple (Keeley) and Rebecca Waddingham (Rebecca) actually became very close friends while working on the early episodes of the show. In their performances later on in the series, you can see it! The women in my life say it was refreshing not to see another "Mean Girls" plot.
That was just freaking beautiful. Isn't it funny how some actors working with each other just end up hating each other and others turn out to be best of friends. And yes yes. The writers of this show understand that you don't have to have your female characters fight against each other to make it good or interesting
@@FrankFreezy_ , I'm retired, but my career was TV. You may already know this by now, but Jason actually participated in a series of promo vids for NBC Sports' early days covering EPL. IIRC, he was still performing on "Saturday Night Live" then, the network thought it would attract non-soccer fans to the coverage. I'm also a soccer fan, wanted to know where all the "Easter Eggs" for my tribe came from in the writers' room. Went on an internet dive back then, Suedakis (Ted), Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard), and Brett Goldstein (Roy) wrote most of it. Hunt fell in love with the game in Amsterdam (he and Jason were performing improv there years ago), and as Goldstein continued writing Roy's character, he thought, '..hey I could play that guy..' made a demo, and was cast. Those of us who love the show *and* the sport are still searching for a copy of that demo, but can't find it. Yet. We found Cristo's (Dani), though. His character was actually supposed to be in Jamie Tartt's (Phil Dunster) place in the cast. th-cam.com/video/mhKyjIg6z9Q/w-d-xo.html Apologies on the 'novel' on your comment, just thought you might like this stuff.
This show does such a great job of humanizing everybody! It’s the advantage of being a tv series instead of a two or three hour movie, so we can spend the time getting to know everyone.
The best advice I got about not trying to solve women's problems was a real eye opener because they actually explained it to me. I understood the principle before hand for awhile but still didn't full understand concept of how it helps. But they told women are not stupid and know what the problem is, all the issues involved and even the solution to said problem. They didn't come to you for solution, they came to you because they want support even if it is only a little it can feel better to have some one be on you side than be alone facing said problem.
This show is just so surprising. There are so many lessons to take from it, especially when it comes to understanding different perspectives and experiences, and how to deal with them with empathy instead of annoyance.
You might already know this, but the actor who plays Higgins and the actress who plays his wife are married in real life. She pops up here and there throughout the series, and it's just nice knowing that the love on screen between them is 100% real, as is the way Higgins talks about his wife throughout the show.
I think you're slightly unaware of how popular the show was (you made a comment about being surprised it wasn't more popular). The show picked up a record number of Emmy nominations for a comedy (and won most of them, at least in two of the three seasons). It was constantly in the entertainment press, and basically put Apple TV+ on the map as a successful streamer.
I am really enjoying your reaction, sir. Particularly your disdain for Jamie Tartt, you’re in for a treat. He’s my favorite character in the last season. Cheers.
Thank you for sharing about your experience with an old girlfriend. You have given me a lot to think about because I’m like you in that I almost always want to be a problem solver and a positive person. You’re teaching me about myself.

I'm so sorry about your dad and sister. I lost my dad in December of 2021 when I was 43 and it's been really tough. I can only imagine how hard those losses are as a child. I'm not surprised you love this show, Frank... it's full of characters with real human problems who deal with them like actual adults and it's not afraid to be honest with the emotional parts. Also, near the end of episode 6 you said you were surprised this show isn't more popular. I don't know what gave you that idea - maybe it's because it's on Apple TV+, which isn't as big as Netflix or Prime, but even today, many months after the last episode of the series aired, the show is #3 on Apple's Most Watched list.
I love how you framed that. They deal with their problems like actual adults. I think that definitely adds to the realism. We know people like these. The show definitely is popular as I have recently found out. I think it was just a personal thing because it wasn't in the realm of shows I typically watched.

FRANK PLEASE give your monstera a shower 😭 literally put it in the shower and turn on the faucet, let it rain on that dusty mofo. We've been slowly watching it die and I'm so saaaad. Also if you haven't already replaced that lightbulb, they make grow lightbulbs for lamps. It also needs a light on the floor because that one bulb won't be enough for it to thrive.
I swear I did, just like you recommended sometime ago 😭 i even have a reminder on my phone for every two weeks. The last time I gave it a shower was last Sunday. And when I’m not recording, my window is open so she gets sunlight. I don’t know what else to do😢.. i’ll look on Amazon tonight for those lightbulbs you’re talking about
@@FrankFreezy_ It’s probably a lighting issue then if it’s getting enough water, since it probably doesn’t have enough light to use the water it has. If you look under a leaf and see dark, wet-looking spots it means the leaf is sucking up water faster than it’s using it. Or if a leaf or two starts turning yellow (not brown, yellow) after you water it, same thing. Also you can trim off the dead leaf so it’ll put that energy towards new growth. It needs water when the soil is almost dry (like when you pick it up it’s super light), or when the leaves start curling in/drooping is when I water mine cuz I’m too lazy to check before that happens.
@@FrankFreezy_I know lighting for videos is super finicky and I’m definitely thinking more about the plant’s needs than the lighting quality of your videos 😂 But I’m sure there’s a balance.
@30:30 long story short, it's not you. Women in general sometimes just want someone to listen. To men it doesn't make sense to us because in our logical brain we want to try and find a solution and fix it to not feel bad anymore. Not always what they want.
Hey, i like u vids. But can u please stop talking so much in the episodes? Much better to do in between. I find my self not listening to u and just swapp forward. I would have if it was after, but I don’t like when you talk so much in an episode because then you take away the flow of the episode.

I'm 27 yo and I got such a huge crush on Hannah waddingham/rebecca. She is so fine 😂
lol I mean who wouldn't. She's amazing
The Departed is actually a remake of the Chinese film Infernal Affair. I prefer the original even though the remake is pretty good too.
@30:30 long story short, it's not you. Women in general sometimes just want someone to listen. To men it doesn't make sense to us because in our logical brain we want to try and find a solution and fix it to not feel bad anymore. Not always what they want.
I hate to be the one to tell you this, but the wife was having an affair at the beginning of Castaway.
Hey, i like u vids.
But can u please stop talking so much in the episodes? Much better to do in between. I find my self not listening to u and just swapp forward. I would have if it was after, but I don’t like when you talk so much in an episode because then you take away the flow of the episode.
I feel the opposite. I love that he stops to react in the moment.
@@christinschumacher2143 I agree. It’s different from other reactors, and I like it. Sometimes something happens in a scene and you just want to talk about it right then and there.
