"To my lovely wife, Julie, my sons. To you and all your families back in Lagos, Guadalajara, Groningen, Cordon, Montreal, Benin City, Harare, Kingston, and Santa Cruz de la Sierra. I know you would have preferred to have been with them, but it was truly an honor to have you with us to share our traditions and help make a few new ones. To the family we're born with and to the family we make along the way. And most importantly to Richmond!" One of my favorite moments on TL, I love Higgins.
Season 1 was released while they were filming season 2, so when it became such a huge hit, Apple TV wanted more episodes for this season, but they had already written the whole season. So they wrote 2 standalone episodes.
The Christmas episode was added on after the filmed the whole season. Apple said we need 12 episodes. So, they added in two episodes that have nothing else to do with the plot of the season. You’ll know the other one as well when it happens. 😊
this show is so funny lol. "her parents were cancelled" XD also i LOVE that the whole team stood up for Sam and against corruption. also the christmas episode gives me so much warm feels
I totally agree about your comments when people say "stick to football, we dont want to hear about your politics." It's just a job like any other. Like, imagine if that was the same for every profession. Some guy has an opinion and then someone shouts "Stick to being a plumber! We don't want to hear your politics!"
A Frank-Ted Lasso day is a great day! These football clubs are always making deals with the devil in this late-stage Capitalist world. You have clubs like Man City and Newcastle that are literally owned by governments in the Gulf. It breaks my heart to have to see “Fly Emirates” on my club’s (Arsenal) kit every week. Politics are a part of everything in life. People that plead ignorance and choose to ignore it contribute to injustice with their silence. Don’t worry bro. I’m born in the US and as you know our government is just as corrupt as somewhere like Nigeria. They’ve just made it legal here and called it “lobbying”. I’ll take that “shout out to Sam” as a double meaning and take the compliment too haha. Hi Gus! Didn’t have goat meat until I moved to the UK. I agree, it’s great. Damn, we’re the same age and went to college at the same time. Would have definitely invited you to family Christmas if I had known you!
When Higgins is saying the home cities of all the players, they are the actual homes of each of the actors. It's such a nice touch and you can see it on their faces.
I’m so glad you talked about the way athletes get ‘shut up and play’. I think the idea that athletes aren’t human beings with thoughts, beliefs, and feelings is absurd and demeaning. I feel like you can argue with what someone says (Harrison Butker) but you cannot say that they are not allowed to voice their opinion. I think so much about the reaction to Colin Kaepernick ‘s demonstration of conscience, that is an example of shut up and play at its worst.
"You guys are sleeping on goat meat" ahahah! As a Greek I have to say that we know goat meat is one of the most succulent meats out there. I haven't eaten meat for over 15 years now, but I still remember. Loving your reactions. Subscribed because of your sharing of personal views and stories. I appreciate your point of view and happy to find a male reactor that can be vulnerable and funny and smart. Yay!
I've always loved the Christmas episode, especially. It became a traditon of mine to watch with other Christmas favorites. I've always been a sucker for people coming together
I'm a native rural Southerner in the US. Goat meat (and cheese) rocks. Then again, my family was poor, and if we wanted to eat meat, sometimes we had to harvest it ourselves. Deer, ducks, geese, and wild boar (gotta be careful, those things can kill you! 😅) . I've lived in Atlanta for more than 35yrs, one of the things I love about this place is the diversity. Tasted goat for the first time from a friend at work whose grandparents were from Cote D'ivoire. I love the Christmas episode..and did so before we found out that it was one of the two "extra" ones made when the show got popular.
@25:20 Fellow goat-meat fan! And you're right, we have to go to particular places to get it, either pre-prepared or to cook it ourselves. That holds true for any "red meat" except for beef. Dunno why!
Ted is watching “It’s a Wonderful Life.” It’s an amazing movie that does have some dark turns, but works out okay in the end. You should consider watching it.
Episode 3 is one of my favorite episodes. I absolutely did not anticipate that kind of storyline in this show. Love episode 4 as well. Also, Hannah is a goddess and I'm low-key obsessed with her, LOL.
I can't believe a man like you, who obviously is familiar with the Dickonsian Christmas tradition of redemption from darkness, did not recognize a scene from It's a Wonderful Life. You must watch it. It will make you feel all the feelings you're getting here. It's considered a masterpiece by some. May I also recommend The Family Man starring Nicholas Cage and Tea Leone. It also beautifully expresses that very same redemption from utter despair which is so fully recognized in our Christmas celebrations and lore. You will cry and be reborn. Funny how good cinema can be that.
You're right about the meat situation. We ignore a few different meats in favor of beef. We'd definitely improve our environmental impact (as well as most waist lines) if we looked to things like goat, ostrich/emu, or iguana meat. Plus, you know, tasty.
@@panamafloyd1469 Ted Lasso has no bad episodes. Even their filler is great TV. To me it kinda makes more sense when they released it, given that in the football season in the show it would be around Christmas time by the time the fourth episode takes place. Plus all of the show came out before December I think.
I went to a Mexican Restaurant, and ordered the goat. Super tasty. I look for goat dishes on the menu all the time, but it’s not on there, all restaurants should have a dish with goat.
I don't have goat meat very often, but it is a solid meat. I had fried goat blood once and I wasn't a huge fan of that but I can see why some people like it. Always steered clear of the organs though.
16:26 Point out to me a country that doesn't have corruption in the Government. No matter the color of our skin, humans all have the same capacity for greatness, pettiness, and just awfulness.
I had a college roommate from Ghana and she made Curry go I tried it and it was way too hot for me to taste I have to try it again in a less spicy recipe LOL😂
That the Christmas episode, and one more this season, are considered filler is a travesty. I hate the modern obsession with narrative propagated by cinema sins and honest trailer (though I do love the series). I'm a worldbuilding fan. I want to see the characters I love be people, not characters.
You called her Jessica twice in this video. btw, the writers had already planned season 2 over 10 episodes like Season 1, but then Apple TV asked for 12 episodes. That's how the Christmas episode and another one later in the season came to be. 2 episodes that don't really affect the plot. Also, the Christmas episode was first released in August.
@@panamafloyd1469 I don’t know about that. If the club had been mediocre for a decade under Rupert’s stewardship and then Rebecca hired Ted who gets them relegated right away, all due-hard Richmond supporters would know Ted’s name even if they did refer to him as Wanker most of the time.
Nice reactions! These two episodes we’ve watched together both have aspects of fantastic unreality. One is written much better than the other, which also happens to be one of the worst episodes of the series. “Carol of the bells” (E 4) has a Santa Claus on a sleigh with reindeer flying across the night sky. “Do the rightest thing“ (E 3) has our beloved Sam unilaterally decide to withdraw from a team corporate sponsorship. Episode 3 “Do the rightest thing” I love this show. I think the team of writers did a fantastic job over three seasons but in this episode, they dropped the ball several times. The whole idea of Led Tasso is just plain stupid and lazy writing. The idea that a player in the middle of the football season can simply because of his (totally legitimate) political stance abandon all grounding in reality and unilaterally breach all kinds of contracts is too much of a stretch. It is pure fantasyland that the owner of a team could simply shrug off one of the team's largest sources of revenue, with binding legal contracts to boot, and to be cute with her goddaughter. (About whom Ted inquires if his to Sassy, ugh). Episode 4 “Carol of the bells” The “Christmas“ was an add-on after they had planned the whole second season , and even if it doesn’t have any major plot points, I find better written than the previous one. 😂😭😂😭 too good
I love Rebecca and Ted's relationship. It's the definition of give and take. when one is down, the other is there to lift them up. Both, in turn.
Season 1 was released while they were filming season 2, so when it became such a huge hit, Apple TV wanted more episodes for this season, but they had already written the whole season. So they wrote 2 standalone episodes.

Most people don't have the patience, fortitude or even the mental capabilities of untangling the absolute mess that is Jamie Tart.
True, unfortunately
Seems like we might have to have a reaction to It's a Wonderful Life!

Fair warning, though: you'll hate George Bailey lol
Off topic, I know, but I really like that portrait of the man in the hat off to your left. Something about the tilt of his head...
The biscuits were good, it was the thought of Ted doing something sexual that made Rebecca grossed out 😅

Goat meat is Mexican cuisine. Try birria I’m not sure where you live in the states but southern Texas has it or the southwest to California
