The glasses thing isn't that unrealistic, Henry Cavill wore a Superman shirt underneath the poster for Batman VS Superman in New York and not a single person recognized him, and that's without glasses. Also, Damian got the dog in Teen Titans Judas Contract, remember the end when Raven gave Damien a puppy, that puppy grew into this huge dog.

I've also read that Superman uses a "hypnosis beam" that he focuses through his glasses to make people see him differently, I'm pretty sure that was retconed though...but I've never heard of the glasses itself causing people to see him differently

Basically the whole thing with Doomsday is him being basically the most dangerous and unstoppable creature in existence. He was originally born on prehistoric Krypton and was genetically experimented on and thrown into the hellish landscape of ancient Krypton and every time he would die, the scientist would just continue to build up his resistances to the point where he became a walking slab of pure evolution. He is literally impossible to kill for good because his physiology makes it so that he will just restore and come back just fine

In my personal opinion, The Death of Superman is by far one of the best DC Animated Movie Universe films they made. Even better some of the solo Batman films in the series. Sadly I won't watch any of your Young Justice Patreon reactions because I don't have Patreon.
what's amazing is they remain VERY faitful to the original story despite changing a few things to keep it in this animated continuity, and the changes don't hurt it at all.

The reason for ths movie being not as action packed as you might have thought it would be is because this movie is supposed to be just the first part of a two part movie event. The second part is The Reign of Supermen which is the next movie.
PLus even in the original comic as with this film the fight with doomsday is only PART of the story. THe real meat of the story is exploring how important Superman is to everyone: his friends, his enemies, random people on the street, what his presence measn to the city of metropolis and the world at large...and then showing what happens when he's gone, what effect the void he leaves behind has on everyone.

the comics version is WAY MORE BRUTAL. Because superman isn't stabbed. He and Doomsday basically just punched each other so much they died, so we see superman bleeding and covered in horrible bruises while standing in the rubble of metropolis.

Doomsday's primary power is essentially Dragonball's Zenkai, but taken to the extreme along with the ability to regenerate/resurrect. That said, killing it is only temporary as it resurrects stronger than before. It was permanently killed off in at least one instance though by stranding it at the end of time.

I really liked this film as Superman is my favourite comic book character and I really liked the Death of Superman original story and have a copy of the original story as a graphic novel. This film executes the death of Superman so much better than Batman v Superman (2016) did, as we have already established Superman/Clark Kent as a character and we see his struggle to save as many people as possible and to take down something as unstoppable as Doomsday, as Doomsday is literally a force of destruction and was genetically mutated to become a living killing machine with no morals whatsoever and exists only to kill, and the fact that this creature can kill Clark after so much destruction and brutalise the Justice League, only emphasises what type of threat Doomsday is.
This is the Doomsday I know, such a relentless and unstoppable killing machine that lives to kill regardless and never stops, instead of whatever we got in Batman v Superman (2016).

so some comics stuff: this movie is an adaptation of the 90's storyline The Death of Superman. During that period: Lex Luthor had given himself a younger, cloned body to avoid death by cancer, giving himself luscioc red hair and beard and pretending to be a good guy by convincing everyone he was his son; Superman had revealed his true identity to lois lane and they got married (Superman hooking up with Wonder Woman was something from the New 52 reboot, so them being a couple wasn't a thing at this point); Hank Henshaw was an astronaut who went to space with his wife and friends who were rescued by superman but contracted debiliating mutations that seemingly killed Henshaw and the rest of his crew and other stuff that isn't important right now. SO yeah this film is basically taking a lot of elements DIRECT from the comic, just changing some things to fit with the New 52 timeline the aniamted movies were following (hence, Superman dating Wonder Woman only to break up with her here). Other differences I'll bring up in the Reign of the Superman video.
The story behind the glasses desguise is actually complicated. Superman's mom Martha Kent made the glasses for Clark from the space shit he came on Earth with to deflect Superman's heat vision it was Kryptonian material that would stop the heat vision. Also the glasses change his eye color when you look at him but he takes them off his eyes are blue and trough the glasses they are like green. Also Clark took acting classes he changes his stands (body language) and he also changes his voice when he is Clark Kent. When he is Superman he has other assets other body language other eye color the hair and so on he is taller then everybody else etc. So the glass desguise is much more then it takes credit for being a (bad) desguise.
The only thing crazier about this movie and the comic it's based on is the story surrounding the comic, because it's crazy yet understandable (if a tad cheap.) See, this story was made in the early 90's when DC was suffering heavily from low comics sales (gee, hard to imagine, ain't it) with Marvel having the better stories plus certain selling tactics to make it easier for readers to spot Marvel stories among the others on the racks; and this was since around the 60's. So, DC decided to do something BIG, bigger than anything they've done before. Bigger than Crisis on Infinite Earths, bigger than Dark Knight Returns, even Bigger than Flash of Two Worlds which implemented the idea of a Multiverse in the comics universe. And the big thing was to truly kill off their oldest, most iconic hero since 1938: to kill off Superman. And when it hit, BOY did it make waves. Because when the comic was announced, it got press like the death of Elvis. No joke, very rarely did a comic book reach such prevalence that primetime TV News networks reported on it, talking about the death of the American Icon. Though, this was the time when comic authors and artists were getting big publicity on tv talk shows, like Frank Miller, Alan Moore, Rob Liefeld and obviously Stan Lee (too bad Jack Kirby didn't live long enough to get in on it.) But like I said: this was like when Elvis died: everyone was shocked because the idea was unthinkable at the time from how long-lived and wide-spread he was. Everyone knew Superman, from the children that had the Reeves films to the grandparents who read Action Comics' first issue. It was sp big that you'd be mistaken if the nation suffered a Coast-to-Coast earthquake. He was that hero everyone knew and liked... and they all saw him fight Doomsday to his final breath. But while DC would get similar coverage later on (mostly for bad reasons), nothing would match the time people all saw Superman's cape flying like a ruined flag in the wind.
there's Cyborg Superman, Steel, Superboy ( the clone of superman & lex luthor) , and the Equadicator. 4 fake supermen while the REAL superman heals then comes back.
Some DC heroes have some really bad weaknesses (bad as they are really common) Like Martin Man Hunter is weak to fire and Wonder Woman is weak to piercing weapons so stabbing her can kill her. Plus, that sword is supposed to be as shaper as anything can possibly be. So, it breaking is nuts which is why she was shocked
You should check out the original Superman Doomsday movie. It was made using the Superman from the Justice League cartoon show and it's pretty good too it's more or less like this one and the next movie packed together. Yeah it's just called Superman Doomsday

You made a mistake in that “The Death Of Superman” was not a story from the DC’s 52 universe since the story came from 1992.
This is one of the many reasons why people were upset over BvS. They completely wasted the Death of Superman story and Doomsday as a character.

so some comics stuff:
this movie is an adaptation of the 90's storyline The Death of Superman. During that period: Lex Luthor had given himself a younger, cloned body to avoid death by cancer, giving himself luscioc red hair and beard and pretending to be a good guy by convincing everyone he was his son; Superman had revealed his true identity to lois lane and they got married (Superman hooking up with Wonder Woman was something from the New 52 reboot, so them being a couple wasn't a thing at this point); Hank Henshaw was an astronaut who went to space with his wife and friends who were rescued by superman but contracted debiliating mutations that seemingly killed Henshaw and the rest of his crew and other stuff that isn't important right now.
SO yeah this film is basically taking a lot of elements DIRECT from the comic, just changing some things to fit with the New 52 timeline the aniamted movies were following (hence, Superman dating Wonder Woman only to break up with her here).
Other differences I'll bring up in the Reign of the Superman video.
In the comics Superman dated a mermaid. They were implying that she was quite a "catch" that the same is true in this universe.
The story behind the glasses desguise is actually complicated. Superman's mom Martha Kent made the glasses for Clark from the space shit he came on Earth with to deflect Superman's heat vision it was Kryptonian material that would stop the heat vision. Also the glasses change his eye color when you look at him but he takes them off his eyes are blue and trough the glasses they are like green. Also Clark took acting classes he changes his stands (body language) and he also changes his voice when he is Clark Kent. When he is Superman he has other assets other body language other eye color the hair and so on he is taller then everybody else etc. So the glass desguise is much more then it takes credit for being a (bad) desguise.

The only thing crazier about this movie and the comic it's based on is the story surrounding the comic, because it's crazy yet understandable (if a tad cheap.)
See, this story was made in the early 90's when DC was suffering heavily from low comics sales (gee, hard to imagine, ain't it) with Marvel having the better stories plus certain selling tactics to make it easier for readers to spot Marvel stories among the others on the racks; and this was since around the 60's. So, DC decided to do something BIG, bigger than anything they've done before. Bigger than Crisis on Infinite Earths, bigger than Dark Knight Returns, even Bigger than Flash of Two Worlds which implemented the idea of a Multiverse in the comics universe. And the big thing was to truly kill off their oldest, most iconic hero since 1938: to kill off Superman.
And when it hit, BOY did it make waves. Because when the comic was announced, it got press like the death of Elvis. No joke, very rarely did a comic book reach such prevalence that primetime TV News networks reported on it, talking about the death of the American Icon. Though, this was the time when comic authors and artists were getting big publicity on tv talk shows, like Frank Miller, Alan Moore, Rob Liefeld and obviously Stan Lee (too bad Jack Kirby didn't live long enough to get in on it.)
But like I said: this was like when Elvis died: everyone was shocked because the idea was unthinkable at the time from how long-lived and wide-spread he was. Everyone knew Superman, from the children that had the Reeves films to the grandparents who read Action Comics' first issue. It was sp big that you'd be mistaken if the nation suffered a Coast-to-Coast earthquake. He was that hero everyone knew and liked... and they all saw him fight Doomsday to his final breath. But while DC would get similar coverage later on (mostly for bad reasons), nothing would match the time people all saw Superman's cape flying like a ruined flag in the wind.

Some DC heroes have some really bad weaknesses (bad as they are really common) Like Martin Man Hunter is weak to fire and Wonder Woman is weak to piercing weapons so stabbing her can kill her. Plus, that sword is supposed to be as shaper as anything can possibly be. So, it breaking is nuts which is why she was shocked

You should check out the original Superman Doomsday movie. It was made using the Superman from the Justice League cartoon show and it's pretty good too it's more or less like this one and the next movie packed together. Yeah it's just called Superman Doomsday

Her disbelieve in people looking way different with and without glasses tells me straight away she's never had a friend with glasses.

Funny thing is is in the comic it's an entirely JLA and Doomsday wipes most of them out with one hand behind his back. Like literally one of his arms is restrained behind his back.
