  • Welcome to the Gemba video series of the Asian Productivity Organization. In Japanese, “gemba” literally means “actual place” but generally refers to a specific site where work is carried out. These videos show good practices at production sites in Japan. The theme of this video is “Creating a Kaizen Culture.” The ideal situation for kaizen is bottom-up (employee-initiated) suggestions proactively generated from the gemba. This video introduces a Japanese dairy company that establishes mechanisms for continuous improvement, creates a kaizen culture from scratch, and promotes employee-initiated activities.

Kaizen is everywhere regardless of what activities we are involved. I have started and introduced the culture in the company where I worked, now employees morales are showing improvement, they felt the differences before and after. It is about pride and recognition because issues were discovered and resolved by them. Arigatou for this sharing of a great example company.

I feel kaizen culture is good way to make a good relationship between all employees and employers.
