Like many places, it takes some time to find one's way around. Whereas things first appear expensive, for example, the average Swiss salary at least in private enterprises (many global ones) at least balances out a lot. Integrating with the locals is also not easy, but I have found that getting involved with sports is a great way - the Swiss are very fond of ice hockey and soccer, so if you get involved in these, you get to know the "locals" a lot faster...

I used to play hockey on the outside rink at Les Vernets on Saturday mornings. The Swiss love the sport. Jean Cusson, a Canadian player from Verdun, Québec, played for several seasons with Genève Servette, the first division team. I used to go and watch him play.

Lived in Carouge for years (now I live in Brantford, ON). I used to love walking home at night from Downtown Geneva. So peaceful.

One of the most comprehensive interview I heard. Good way of leading the questions by the host and great honest insights from the guest.
    Thank you

Lovely video. It would be even nicer if you could ask more specific questions to your guests. For example, when she said that healthcare is very expensive in Geneva, the logical next question was “How much does health insurance cost in Geneva?”.
All in all, it was a bit shallow, I’m afraid. Thank you anyway.
