Team wheels. For me, cruise speed trumps aesthetics, plus you can’t beat the amazing convenience of using helimove to get your machine in & out of your hangar with absolute simplicity. Thanks for the awesome video, Clint. Great memories of an amazing event.
What a delightful Video Thank yo use much. Furthermore what a beautiful Heli. I am just looking forward to the purchase of our first. As Mr. Hill stated, I would love to have one on my lawn
Clint, another well done video! I can remember this experience myself like it was yesterday! I was like a kid in a candy store and better yet, so was my entire family. Oh and BTW, I'm still 100% team wheels! After flying a AW109 with retractable wheels...I've been hooked.
Thanks for watching Shawn. I’m still on the fence about it. The skids look so good and we’re going to be doing a lot of mountain flying and off airport stuff in crazy differing weather conditions so I’m still not sure which direction to go.
@@clintpulver yeah, it’s a tough decision especially if you’re expecting lot of off airport landings. I just can’t get over the loss of top end airspeed. I have a need, a need for speed. ;)
Fantastic Episode Clint! It helped me re-live the day... There are 3 days that are important: The third is the day I met you :) (actually maybe a fourth ... the day we get to fly a Hill Helicopter!) The wheels version is the one... following our leader.
Awesome Clint! Been following Hill for 4 years now and love seeing this! I have roughly 50 hour in the R22 so I'm super experienced.... lol. I love the look of the skids. The minor loss of cruising speed is no deterrent for me. I think I'm team skids. When I think about the safety of Taxi-ing on the ground and running landings of the wheels, I lean towards the wheels a bit. With the terrain in my neck of the woods, (Grand Junction, CO) I tend to think it would benefit from the skids. That being said, I can't confidently speak to the capabilities the wheeled HX provides. Until further notice, Team Skids.
Great episode Clint! Wheels 100%! Who would want to Sacrifice 15knots of cruise speed with increased drag, retractable undercarriage on a private heli! Also imagine taxiing from parking to the fuel bowser using your phone as a remote, heli move makes the decision even easier. Looking forward to meeting face to face at the next event.
I'm with you! I love the look and practicality of the skids. If only you could get the same performance with them. I ordered with wheels, but plenty of time to change my mind. We'll see what the real performance numbers look like and then I'll choose.
I love seeing the inside nuances of niche communities. Before watching this video, if you had asked me "wheels vs skids", I wouldn't have even known what that meant, but the specific opinions of passionate communities is always fun. For my wildly uninformed take, the skids definitely look cooler. But the comments lead me to believe that wheels have a functional advantage, and I will always trade aesthetics for function.
Clint, many thanks for sharing. I certainly am enjoying watching your journey evolve. I just wish I could afford one of these fine machines !! My choice would be "skids". Why.... because of the terrain of New Zealand. Only issue is the skids are too low in my opinion. If the wheels could hold / perform on poor quality surfaces, I would go with the wheels, but at this time I do not think they would work here. Wishing you well. Thanks from New Zealand.
I think they totally plan on making a higher skidded version in the future. I fly in the mountains of Utah and so I totally agree with you that skids makes a lot more sense
So when will it finally fly because now all i see is lots of talking and promises and stories about people buying “air” with no guarantees years are passing by and nothing new
@@clintpulverwhat guarantees they give to people who pre-order and have made the payment of ???? When will they get their heli ? 10 years 15 years ? Maybe never 🤷♂️

Team wheels, just for practicality. For aesthetics, skids are just beauty to the eyes.
Totally agree
It makes the final decision so hard
I love the look of the skids model. It's a thing of beauty.
THIS IS THE MOST INNOVATIVE, PRACTICAL AND ECONOMICAL HELICOPTER TO EMERGE IN ROTORCRAFT AVIATION, THE LAST 30 YEARS❤❤❤❤❤❤

Brought back so many amazing memories of a day we will never ever forget. Thank you Clint ❤
Love ya Isy!! This was a day in aviation history that changed everything. Can’t wait till the next event
Loved the helicopter reveal!! Amazing
Thanks for watching
Best episode yet!
Skids all day, for the mountains you just can't beat them!
I totally agree.

I really agree as well

The skids look awesome! However, the practicality of the wheels has me.
I know right?? The look of the skids is amazing but the functionality and speed you get with the wheels is amazing

Team skids. More versatility on where you can land, boondocking off the beaten path.

Great point Jim!
Definitely team wheels.
That was a top 10 night in my life. I dunno Clint. Skids looks mean, but I like the speed of the wheels. Gonna be a tough decision!
I totally agree.
I'm not a pilot buy in case of a hard landing or crash the wheels seem to be a better option although I love the look of the skids wheels for me
A lot of people love the look of the skids better
Loved your video! Why not team skids and wheels -- skids in wild terrain and retractable wheels otherwise?
The heli sadly can’t be converted to wheels if it has the skids
Team land safely 💯 😅❤❤
