      especially when it was known at the time that it was WAY more than just touching over and under the clothes as it included inside one of his sisters while she was sitting on his lap and he was reading the bible to her in 2003. As Bobye Holt testified in the trial, in 2005 Josh confirmed to her that he did this. So when Rim Job and Meech gave that interview with Megan Kelly in 2015, they flat out lied.

      And so ironic that the Duggar’s would NEVER allow a dating couple to so much as a loving, consensual front hug, let alone touch each other under OR over clothes… because “purity”… but they made 100 excuses for actual abuse

      It wasn't just that. More than 1 girl woke up during the abuse, (on more than the upper half and UNDER clothes), slapped Josh, and ran to tell the parents. Josh was angry and didn't go voluntarily confess...he was tattled on. So they minimized but also straight up lied. Josh was also shown on tv taking the kids in the van alone AFTER they supposedly had taken precautions to keep him separate from the girls. Uhhhggg.

      I had read somewhere that Jill went to her parent’s to tell them what happened . I remember during the show , Josh once referred to Jill as the tattle tale when they were describing personality traits for some of the siblings. Being that Jill is now in therapy and Derrick’s obvious dislike for Jim Bob, I bet the both of them could split this family wide apart with the stories they could tell.

      Nope. Predators don’t confess unless found out. Then they downplay it and minimize the number and severity of the molestations.
      They all lied on the Megan Kelly interview, imo. They were all coached by a guy from TLC, whose only goal, allegedly, was damage control for TLC’s bottom line and the Duggar brand.
      It just speaks volumes about the clout of the Duggar name and the core of corruption of the IBLP that they were not immediately excommunicated by the IBLP and any southern Baptist church they had ever been affiliated with.
      It will be interesting to see what comes from the Southern Baptist Convention this year.
      The Catholic Church has never come clean, to my knowledge , about their cover up of pedophile activities among their ranks and people still support them.

    I always found it hard to believe his victims had slept through being abused. I think they were awakened & just pretended to be asleep, so they wouldn't get in trouble. • @giaparmer
      @giaparmer ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, as someone who was abused while they slept the offender also assumed I was asleep. I would dare to say most victims pretend to be asleep because you genuinely are like what…the fuck…is happening right now. You’re so scared and shocked that it’s actually happening to you that you don’t react. We would all love to think that if our brother/partner/father/friend woke us up with abuse that we would scream and kick them off and call 911. I like to think that now years later, the science just completely shows the opposite is usually true. I think people need to believe that they would do something different because in their own heads, it means that it couldn’t happen to them because they would never let it. Sad.

  • @Mizarriz

    What happened to make Josh Duggar a monster? He was given room to be. He was taught that his victims were mere vessels for his desire. He was protected and forgiven, and told that his actions were 'mistakes'. His misdeeds were framed as something that could ruin HIS life-- the needs, feelings, and futures of his victims did not matter in the calculus of how great a man Josh was. It's a surprise that Jim Bob hasn't been pegged as an offender as well--the apple rarely falls too far from the tree. The entire belief system is designed to repel the concept of abuse and accountability, designed to allow men to harm their families and instead of being held to a behavioral standard they are held to a verbal standard, forgiven once they say the stock apology-words. It's designed to perpetuate the use of people as tools for higher-ups to use. This isn't a relationship with god, it's a relationship with people which treats people as chattel.

      People who do this think they are "empaths" but they are actually trying to control the emotions of people around them by being hyper aware of people's micro-expressions. It's actually a response to trauma and a sign of PTSD. Ask me how I know. 🙁 I used to think I was just really nice, but therapy helped me understand that I was subconsciously trying to manipulate people to control their reactions to me to keep myself safe. The inner resentment I had for having to repress my true self was only released once I stopped trying to control how people thought of me and accepted that other people's feelings are their own problem. Poor Anna needs a lifetime of therapy. I know that feeling well.

    I spent most of my teen years in a religious IBLP church. When I left I didn't realized how brain washed and traumatized I was. I was the only Asian to go to that church and racisms was common in that environment. Unfortunately, homophobia, pedophilia, and misogyny were also common in that environment. They publicly shamed one of the church member granddaughter for getting an abortions because she was raped and underage. They told me my depression was a sin and I was going to hell. They told me that it was my fault for letting the pastor's grown ass sons and grandsons sextually assaulted me. Going to that church, every teen girls looked up to the Duggar girls and wanted to be just like them. And when it came out that Josh assaulted his younger sisters, they brush it off. The pastor even said, "Boys will be boys.". I left because a man who was 10 years older than me asked me to court him when I turned 18, I was 16 at the time. I'm so incredibly happy that I left that church and so grateful that videos like this is bringing awareness that IBLP churches are cults and traumatized many people across the world. BE's videos on the Duggar's are excellent on bringing awareness to this harmful cult.

I was always scared that they would get in and watch me without me knowing. I also suffered from crippling night terrors and panic attacks. It took a bunch of counseling to get to the point where I took my power back from my abusers. However, it wasn’t until I was in my mid 40s till I got up the courage to tell my parents. Then, my Dad continued a phone relationship with 1 of them and that broke me worse than the actual abuse. That feeling of not being picked by a girls own Daddy is the worst feeling I’ve ever felt. I’ve gone through some shit in my life but nothing was as bad as not being picked and not having my feelings honored. We were raised very religious too and I can’t decide if it’s because of the fathers trying to protect their family name and their own reputation above all else. Or is it the fact that the girls are raised to be subservient to men. Blamed for “distracting the boys” and all the purity culture bullshit they heap on girls. The girls are afraid to tell because the adults in the church will likely look at them as a tease or not modest and therefore responsible for a boy’s fall from purity. So, not only are we labeled as sluts, we’re also labeled Jesabels too. Nothing like a good old fashioned mind fuck that lasts 18+ years........

    What makes me so sad is this could have been prevented. If he was given actual counseling as a kid, it might have saved the victims of his crimes from his sisters, to the children in the CSA material to his 7 children. You know he did stuff to his sisters, so the odds of hurting his own children are very high.if you go back and see old episodes, there’s one where he is taking care of his oldest daughter and she’s fighting to get away from him. I 100% believe he did stuff to his children when they were young enough not to remember since he learned from doing this to sisters that were old enough to finally say something. And how did he get that material? It is known you have to trade material of your own to get new material. I wish the damn parents were held accountable for some of this. They created that monster and yes you can’t be responsible for kids after 18, he started when he was a minor. They didn’t seek proper help and tried to just cover it up.

Also Josh is known to call Jill the “tattle tale” that “gets him into trouble”. Knowing the Jill we know now I would not be surprised at all if that is the case. Of course we can’t know for sure, but I will say I am so happy Jill has found her voice, that she is in therapy and is trying to raise her kids differently. Superb again. I especially want to thank you for your empathy for Anna & exposing the general public to the IBLP’s persistent troubling teachings that the family must always be under the headship of a patriarchal authority. I’ve tried to explain to many that Anna’s understanding of marriage, motherhood, family, and salvation prevent her from even giving any real consideration to breaking the covenant of marriage. Just incredibly well done and thank you so much for the facts and the more nuanced explanation of how the facts are understood by the various players.

    It's so awful because you can see Jessa has been coached as she over-talks Jill in order to answer the questions the way that it was gone over to keep the lie straight. I could tell Jimbob, Michelle, Jessa and Jill were all lying and sugarcoating the real truth about what Josh did in that Meghan Kelly Interview. They kept talking in circles and repeating the same information. Sadly they were more upset about the police report being leaked than what Josh did to his sisters. I had gotten into more than a few arguments with people on social media about what Josh had done, I found it scary how many people defended what he did as normal “teen curiosity “....I kept saying it went deeper than that, then the Ashley Madison website scandal broke and I knew it was only a matter of time before more stories would come out about Josh. I still think this is not the end for this family. I believe more skeletons will come out of the closet as some of the grown children are becoming more independent from JimBob and more outspoken about their lives. Jill and possibly Jinger will write a book about their upbringing in a cult.

    And I also really really really hate the “he was a young boy” trite crap they keep saying. There are billions of young boys in the world and 99.9% of them can be curious about young girls without m-ing their sisters

    Wonderful conclusion to a well researched piece! I often wonder about Jana, the eldest Dugger daughter left at home. I don’t know if we ever found out if she was victimized in the same way as her sisters, but I’m sure there was abuse there as well. Josh was raised to believe he was superior to all females, I can’t imagine he treated her well. I’ve heard she has an Etsy shop, but since she is under the control of her father as an unmarried female I don’t know if she is allowed access to her income. There was also some chatter about her moving into a tiny house on the family compound since she can’t leave the “umbrella of protection” her father supposedly provides. As a 33 years old I imagine it’s beyond difficult to still be at home and I wonder if abuse by her sibling could be why she isn’t interested in marriage. Great job again B!

  • @tutttutt9558

    As a survivor of severe sibling abuse, and where my parents protected and refused to protect my younger sibling and I from our elder brother, you are brutalized twice. Once from the actual abuse. And secondly from your parents minimalizing your the abuse. The Duggar parents have scarred their daughters who were sexually abused by this disgusting pervert by minimalizing what happened to the girls. To this day I have ptsd and are on anxiety medication and I moved to another country so I never have to be near my abuser again.

    It's really upsetting that the victims are in a position to where they feel like they have to just be ok with it and pass it as "boyhood curiosity". The parents are also so incredibly invalidating to the victims and how they should be allowed to feel; how they were VIOLATED. It's all about Josh and what incredible character he supposedly has. Hutchins is also an incredibly gross trash human being. It's a girl's job to dress modestly so as to not lead their brothers in Christ into temptation. Yet, they're minding their own business ASLEEP fully clothed and Josh still fell into temptation. And nothing??! Yet girls are continually persecuted. for showing too much above the ankle. It's reason like this that contributed so much to childhood anxiety as i grew up in the church.

    • @thepanpiper7715
      @thepanpiper7715 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They claim one of the precautions they took was locking the door to the girls' bedroom at night.
      This fact perfectly encapsulates their priorities for me; they can't trust *Josh*, ergo *the girls* are the ones who get locked in at night.
      Also, I honestly don't know what's worse; the idea that it never crossed their minds how dangerous this would be if they had a house fire, or if they decided it was worth the risk.

    • @jenerin905
      @jenerin905 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I get the feeling Josh was the golden child and has an incredible sense of entitlement. Their church teaches women that they are nothing without their husbands. If course the girls were disposable, it only took how many victims before "seeking" out help? I'm sure it's heartbreaking having a child victimized, and worse knowing it was one of your own who did it. But let's be honest, it happened because their son felt entitled to his victims' bodies.

    • @thepanpiper7715
      @thepanpiper7715 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@jenerin905 I get the sense that he might be the only one that they (or at least Michelle) were actually able to form a parental bond with.
      I saw a clip of her in Counting On spending "quality time" with one of her younger sons (I say younger, he's like 15). He was trying to teach her how to play and honestly, if I had been shown that tip without context, I'd be sure that she was a grandmother or a great aunt. There was affection there, certainly, but he treated her with that sort of formality kids have when they're dealing with relatives they don't often see.

    This whole saga makes me so sad 😞. Sad for Josh and Anna’s kids, sad for Josh’s sisters who were victimized and then told it was no big deal and didn’t grow up in a safe house, sad for all the children who were victims and had pictures taken of them for CP, incredibly sad for Anna who is so brainwashed and in a mental prison that she can’t stand up for her and her kids. It makes me very angry that she left the courtroom and didn’t see the CP images that her husband enjoyed looking at while children were being abused. 20 years is a long time, I hope she can free herself from her mental prison and leave him.

    as someone that has been a victim of grooming, for me it was important to relearn what it means to have boundries. Boundries for my emotions, for my body, and boundries with other people. My ability to learn that at appropriate ages was taken away/never given to me.. So as an adult i had to relearn that, while griefing how that was taken from me. I'm not going to judge others who's boundries have been violated, but i will say there is a crucial threshold as people become adults where they regain the ability to learn about boudnries and make better decisions.
    I feel like people like josh and anna were groomed as children (to view (personal) boundries in a certain way), and as they became adults their environments pretty much forced them to double down on those groomed beliefs.
    i'm not a therapist or anything, this is just my personal opinion from my own experience too

    It's kind of uncanny how Anna seems to be mimicking Michelle's cadences and tone in her speech. Like for someone who wasn't raised in that household to sound THAT much like Michelle is...strange. Like, I just watched the previous video and the Q&A where she was speaking while sitting in front of the map (here - th-cam.com/video/3vp0PCWCxgU/w-d-xo.htmlsi=InEdIt3B3Ad-s7G2&t=958 ) like...her voice is in a lower register, she isn't putting as much cutesy inflection on things, she sounds more like a standard-issue young American woman, but at the 3:12 mark she's doing a full Michelle impression, it feels like.
