Yes it's suitable for Alto 800. You can install rear camera inside, but it will need some additional work to mount it in a way that it focusses properly towards the back

Hi, your videos are very insightful. I need to buy a good mirrored dash cam with in-build GPS, starvis sensor, with rear view camera (to be fitted inside car, not outside the vehicle above number plate), can you recommend.
Mirror dashcams have rear camera which are designed to be installed outside. But you can install it inside with some angle adjustments. Currently, only 70mai S500 is available in India which has starvis sensor (until stocks last).
Although this cam can be put on top of the car's mirror, I would recommend you to remove the original mirror and install this mirror cam alone (with the optional leg), to have a luxury look inside the car. And also I would advise to put the screen always on with the rear cam view. This is superior to using the original mirror, with a wide, bright, and clear view of the back, even in the dark or under heavy rain.
Best part of the rear view camera is you can read the number plate… I have DDPAI pro dual dashcam and not happy as the rear camera gives reverse mirror view of the number plate and is not directly readable
Hello! Nice video. Question, since this has super capacitor, will this continue to record even if the engine is off? Or do I need the hardwire kit too?
Good stuff, Thanks for sharing. I don't think that rear camera has a mini usb port? That looks like an independent port made for that specific 70mai S500 Rear Port. What we call Proprietary port because it only works with that Camera Port? I'm a correct? Ok I saw your other video on this camera and you said it was an AV port but in this video you said it was a Mirco USB port, That is why I was mixed up. Got it now. Thanks.
I already have rear view parking camera. If I don't need the parking lines then is it necessary to connect it with the internal wiring ? if not connected will it work just as a rear view recording camera?
If you don't need the parking lines, then it's not necessary to connect it to internal wiring. If not connected, it will work just as a rear view recording camera.
Yes. If the number plate is under any glare or reflection of the dashboard in the video, having a cpl filter will definitely help in reading number plate in those specific conditions.
I've been using this cam with rear view always on to physically replace the original mirror (removed). Very low latency, while the back view is superior - wide, bright, superb image quality even in the dark or heavy rain.
Great review as per usual, thanks! Curious why 70mai chose to go with a Micro-USB for the DC-In seems kinda odd. Either way may purchase if we get the opportunity... I'm already using a Wolfbox mirror dash cam loving the form factor.
Hi, Could u please share the experience of wolfbox & which particular model u are using.. I am a bit confused between 70mai s500 vs wolfbox G840H Also want to install the rear camera inside the car itself. Thanks in advance
@@aashu1727 I have the Wolfbox G900 been using it since November 2022. Love the form factor mainly due to the large display, the reliability has been excellent never missing a beat not once through summer or winter. Quality of the video from front camera is decent enough yet nothing really to write home about. Rear camera, well could be much better that's for sure. Have the backup camera option connected yet rarely rely on it. I now own the 70mai S500 but I have yet to install. The video from the S500's front camera should be much improved over the G900 due to the Sony Starvis 2 Sensor, but not expecting much improvement from the rear camera over the G900's though.
Very nice review, its good that you tackle about the latency of the rear view camera if being use as full time rear view mirror, personally i prefer yhe display off so i could focus more on the road and view the display as regular rear view mirror
What's your max budget? All dashcams give live view in smartphone when you are in range of its hotspot network (inside the car). I haven't come across any camera yet which gives live view from anywhere else
Hi there, can the rear image be adjusted to feel like a normal rear view mirror or is it flipped ? Also looking at Wolfbox G900 that has this option, thanks.
How did the rear view mirror get feedback from car that it was in Reverse Gear , when you showed it automatically switched to reverse camera with guide lines
The rear camera has a backup signal connection cable which I have connected to the rear reverse tail lights. So when the reverse gear is engaged, the signal is detected via the reverse tail light and the dashcam automatically switches to rear camera with guide lines.
Simple. A810 is the right choice between the two. In terms of resolution, no fight at all since Omni is only 1080p and A810 is 4K HDR. And Starvis2 sensor is cherry on top. Parking mode is equally good on A810. Go with it eyes closed. Here is the link: amzn.to/3OO3GnA
Dashcam hotspot doesn't have internet. It can only connect to a smartphone with the compatible app to access settings and view the live video feed. Nothing else.
I don't think so. A810 is 4K HDR camera which is superior to the 1944p in S500. Unless you absolutely require a rear view camera for taking reverse, you don't need to change it.
Suppose I am using this as a normal mirror at night, will this dim the reflection of backside vehicle head- light? like auto-diming mirror dose? I am interested in product post watching your review, if you have affiliated link, pls share.
I have Tata Nexon & don't have rear camera but only sensor, If I install this then any wire coupling required if I need the guide lines while reversing or make any connection to rear lights. This seems only for me as Windshield dash cam may heat up & the adhesive may cease, while capacitive battery is good, was planning previously VIOFO A229 Plus 2CH with a price difference of 8K. Now I feel for a normal user this is a cheaper option with Rear view mirror instead of windshield.
Yes, the rear camera needs to be connected to the rear tail light in order to show up when you put the car in reverse gear. Although this doesn't require any wire cutting if you do it properly. The windshield adhesives in almost all dashcams are good enough to take heat during summer and wont fall off ever, if sticked properly. So you have nothing to worry about in that aspect.
70mai A810 is definitely better since it's 4K resolution. But due to many people asking similar query, I will bring up a detailed comparison video of S500 with A810 soon.
Hello, can I connect this with mobile? I have a similar setup currently, only drawback, I cannot connect view the videos on mobile. In case of accident/conflict, will be good to have the video on mobile to share immediately on watsapp or view otherwise
