Thank you Ken! I took it in and they told me they couldn’t access my lights without taking my battery out and would charge me around $100! Was able to watch this and do it by myself at home!

Thank you Ken! I was able to go buy a bulb for 20 bucks and do this in 15 mins. Otherwise I would've spent 50-60 at the dealership and wasted an hour or two of my time. Thanks so much!! :)

Well done, Ken. Thanks. Quick tip... Had trouble getting those large caps off. They are tight. Used a strap wrench and they come right off.

Excellent video. I was able to do it myself. Biggest problem I had was trying to get the clips out for the cover. Finally was able to just put some force on the cover itself and push it away from the clips, since one side of the cover hole is open. And then put it back on the same way, with a little force. I think my clips are slightly different than the ones on your cover. Changing the light itself was very easy from your detailed explanation. Thank you.

Sylvania H-11 is the one I use.....Go to time 5:47 on the video..it shows the package and other choices at the Auto store....Hope this helps..

OMG, I just bought a new headlamp in my 14 Subaru Forester. Went out in parking area (of this Hoosier town) and tried to figure it out, had to go to TH-cam because those hillbillies behind the counter weren’t gonna help me. Your video was great. I took the battery out to give me room to work. The cap gave me trouble, so I took Mike's advice and pried it off.

best explanation yet! thanks.. I dropped that big plastic cap down the driver's side.. under the battery... can't each it.. Hopefully it will shift
I did the same but luck out and have skinny hands and was able to reach it...You should have no problem shifting.It won't effect anything..Maybe put some tape over the hole to keep it clean..

thank you for showing my wife and I how easily this light bulb is changed. Now she will hover around my head like a raven protecting her nest until I complete the job. Also because you changed the passenger side bulb, in her mind it negates any accuracy pertaining to changing the driver's side bulb. I will continue to perform the work and maybe...just maybe she will discontinue to feel the need to take the car to the dealership for the light bulb replacement. OMG ... I am a manufacturing engineer working in the aerospace field for 35 years.
ha ha.!!!....So Sorry Bob for adding to your "Honey Do List"..maybe you can encourage her to make the Change......NOT!!!!
the bulb is replaced and works fine. she is still skeptical and might take the car to the dealership anyway.
This is similar to a turkey drowning itself in the rain...lol.

Yes you did make it a little bit easier to change. I paid about $45 for a set of Philips lights. Wow now I can actually see, so I guess it is a good thing.

WoW! Very nice video! Thank you. It was very difficult to get the cap off. I eventually just pried it straight off. To put cap back it helped to use WD 40 so it it didn't stick

I tried for an hour or longer to get the cap off. I finally read your comment and took your advice. I pried the cap off, changed the bulb and sprayed it with WD-40. The cap works good now. We'll see the next time it needs replaced!

This couldn’t be much easier. So glad I didn’t take it to the dealer. It is ridiculous that the Owners manual tells you not to do this yourself. Of course, they don’t want you to know how easy it is to do it yourself.

Thank you so much for this video. Will this also work with the Subaru 2012 touring version? In other words are there different lightbulbs depending on what level of Subaru it is?
The light bulbs are the same...there maybe a little difference on the change, Things might look a little different but the basic are the same..Good luck with your project
