All olympians especially winners end up depressed at the end of their careers because they can never achieve a pinnacle like an Olympic podium ever again in their lives. They feel like they've lost all purpose
@JVan-ic6ic the problem lies in the fact he said all Olympians end up depressed, which isn't true. My mother was an para-olympian that won quite a few gold medals and had 2 world records and she transitioned to normal life quite fine. Also know of 2 more able bodied Olympians that didn't get depressed, so that statement seems to come from a place of ignorance.
