Thank you so much for this tutorial! I'm making several small quilts for Christmas this year and I was wondering how we were going to hang them. The pockets are wonderful! By the way, I love your quilt with the crosses. I wish I had the pattern!😃
Hi Linda, it's not a pattern, but was a block challenge from last summer. Below is a link with all of the details :) materialgirlquilts.com/blog/2020/6/22/riley-blake-designs-classic-quilt-block-challenge
Hi Connie, I will usually place the quilt up against the wall and then put the pin where I'd like it to be (usually right at the corner where the quilt and binding meet) and then start hammering into the wall. I hope that answers your question! Amanda
I’m not sure if those will work if they don’t have a flat head. The flat head holds the quilt against the wall. The quilt might slide off of a used needle. 🪡
@@MaterialGirlQuilts One of my local quilt shops used to use them to hang up all their shop quilts. They are now closed but I never heard of any problems.
Hi Jennifer, I'm not sure exactly which quilt you are referencing, but if you head to my website quilt gallery, there are photos of my completed quilts and you can click on any photo for details about the quilt. Hopefully this gives you the info. that you need. materialgirlquilts.com/quilts Thanks!
I just love watching you, Amanda. Your teaching and quilts are awesome. ❤
Thanks so much Lee!!
Your quilts are beautiful. Love the first one, looks like it's over a fireplace. 🐄
Thank you! That is Buttercup ❤️ You can find out the details for that quilt here - materialgirlquilts.com/blog/2017/12/30/buttercup-a-finished-quilt/
This is really helpful. Thank you! I didn’t know that brick hangers were a thing. That’s good to know!
Those brick hangers have been a lifesaver for me! I was amazed when I found them!

You're welcome! I love being able to hang my mini quilts up!
Good one!!! I’ve been stuck on this for quite a while - not really satisfied with my options.
Glad I could help!
Brilliant ideas, thank you very much 💖
You’re welcome 😊
Thanks for this very informative tutorial. I had never heard of the brick hanging units, great idea.
Glad it was helpful! I was so happy when I found those brick clip hangers. They've been so great!
What pattern is the quilt on the opener for this video? The one with the dark background and two large blocks with 8 smaller blocks. It’s very pretty!

Is there a pattern for this mini quilt? It is amazing!
Can you send a link to the Triangular Rod you used? I can't seem to find one on the web. Thx!
I haven't used a triangular rod, but have used both round and square dowel rods. I usually buy them at JoAnn's.
Have you hung one outside?
How do the needle pins work? Do you put them through the quilt and then hammer into the wall?
Hi Connie, I will usually place the quilt up against the wall and then put the pin where I'd like it to be (usually right at the corner where the quilt and binding meet) and then start hammering into the wall. I hope that answers your question!
Amanda
Instead of those special pins you can use used sewing machine needles. They are strong enough to gently hammer.
I’m not sure if those will work if they don’t have a flat head. The flat head holds the quilt against the wall. The quilt might slide off of a used needle. 🪡

Do you have a pattern for the house quilt in this video?
I have a tutorial on my website. It’s called “My Town” quilt 🏡
