It would be cool is you listed the green fees to each course in the description.

Hm I haven't thought about this. Rates do fluctuate and I don't want to draw the ire of a golf course if I misrepresent anything. In any case, the green fee at Ram's Hill (this round was played last week) was $175.

I'd like to see a putting tutorial from you. When you follow your routine you're unstoppable with the flat stick. Your ability to read greens is incredible.

I swear he is elite with the flat stick.

If he doesn't make one, Golf Sidekick's putting content is elite.

Thanks! I'm not kidding when I say that I think Golf Sidekick's latest putting video is the single best putting instruction I've ever come across. I actually filmed my own with Sensei Gordon a while back, but decided not to publish it once Matty Boom Boom published his.
One minor thing I think is worth mentioning - I constantly play with golfers who don't follow any set putting routine. When it's their turn, they often just stare down the line at their putt, make a quick guess, and aren't even committed to a read by the time they're over the ball.
Obviously there have been treatises written about putting, but as a first step, I tell a lot of golfers to begin thinking about their putt as they are walking up to the green. Evaluate high and low points and take in the wider topography of the green complex rather than just looking at the line of the putt myopically.
Having *any* routine whatsoever will improve things in and of itself. Equally important, you need to be 100% committed to your read by the time you're over the ball. It's far easier to evaluate a "bad" or missed putt if you can identify whether you hit your intended line and what the putt did relative to your read. It's very common in-round that my reads get better throughout the day. It's rare that you'll completely misread a putt's direction of break (although it happens). It's pretty easy to determine whether putts break more/less than you see visually and adjust going forward.

Man, your back-9 looked very similar to one I had recently-- bombed drives followed by shanks and poor irons shots. That’s G*LF!!! I have a 2-man scramble coming up in a couple weeks so I’m hoping I don’t become a burden to my player partner. Might be time for a Swing Tweak 😉

    • @NotAScratchGolfer
      @NotAScratchGolfer  2 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

Lol a scramble is the best way to ease the nerves about hitting bad shots. And hell yeah man, 10 golf lessons for $180 is a no-brainer in my opinion.

There is some envy watching those drives roll out for you in SoCal, while my last round of the season up here in the BC interior had fairways so soft that I think I could spin a driver back.
The last 9 of any 36 hole day is always a grind. Way to stick it out :)

I hear you, Thomas. Last month I played several rounds in Vancouver, and my driver misses literally only got out there 200 yards. I think a *LOT* of "desert golfers" would be gobsmacked to see the dropoff in their driver distance in the PNW.

@NotAScratchGolfer the air is thick here lol. I haven't made it down to the palm springs/desert area yet, but 'baked-out summer Alberta" golf is also pretty good for the ego.

The key is to hit regular people shots and follow it up with the greatest putting you can find on TH-cam

Lol dare I say I think it's gotten to the point that my putting is "overrated" for lack of a better word. The Arccos data reveals that I am indeed a consistently great lag putter. Inside 10 feet, I'm good but not even on the same astral plane as Tour Pros.

Internationally, I fly with a soft shell bag I bought on Amazon for ~$100. Sometimes I unscrew the heads of my woods/hybrids. I've used ShipSticks a few times within the US. Oddly enough, I've never had a bag lost/clubs damaged. *knocks on wood*

You keep earning that honesty badge by posting a round that you barely could bring yourself to finish.
Nice you have the s.hanks recorded for your SwingTweaks coach. For me it's too far inside (+ rolling open) going back and too in to out coming down. Hitting at the ball rather than swinging thru it is also a factor.
Looking fwd to putter review. Pretty surprised you switched.
The hardest shot in golf is the one after a s.hank...

2 bucks per shot, could've been more expensive if you played better. It's my favorite outlook on a bad day... I made my golf per shot cheaper. Those greens were tough.

love your videos, but looking at it I feel like have to comment on your swing, sorry... It is way way too shallow, like a baseball swing with your club below the shoulder! Your angle of attack is thereby insane... sorry. That is why u shank shots and can't hit irons clean. But then again, u put great and again; love your content, keep videos coming!
Nice course, great weather! Can't say the same here. courses here closes with first frost.

Was up late the prior night tinkering with a video. Only got 3 hours of sleep, then a 1.5 hour drive, then 2 rounds of golf. I slept well that night :p
