Started with a redcat e10, and an ecx barrage gen1 6 years ago. Then got a vattera ascender. But Have had trx4 for 4 years. Originally bought it when the "kits" first came out. Mostly due to the fact it will take big brushless power out of the box, and is super durable, and the performance was there. However I also have an extremely modified scx10ii, old style 3 gear, mamba x/3800 kv slate motor, stainless high clearance links, Holmes shv800 servo, Brass c-hubs, droop desert lizard shocks....no matter how I shim the rear differential it has a tendency to eat pinion bearings, and destroy ring gears. absolutely a beast, but not the most reliable.
I love your testing grounds, Yep we’re here my friend. Love watching your reviews, and I just love watching the truck work on your testing grounds super cool still watching it is 6:09 PM Thursday evening. Well back to watching just want to come and say 👍👍😎
Great video review, love the shootout format. It would be great to do one for the entry level crawlers, I'd be curious how the new Enduro Utron compares.
You know.... that is very, very true. Great driving and very consistent. Randy the Builder drove them all. After the first car, I decided he should drive them all since he was smooth and great baseline for these cars.
I have the TX4 and SCX3 ….and the flagship Cross RC ….all 3 perform well but each have their pros and cons! Leaning towards the flagship Cross as being the best out of the Box performer …slight mods to each makes them even better!
Scx10iii Gladiator is hands down the BEST out of the box crawler I have ever bought. I put ProLine BFG Krawlers with some plastic beadlocks off of an RGT, reinforced the panhard mounts, and added some aesthetic mods. That's it. It's freaking perfect.
Great content as always Francess, enjoyed watching all 4 trucks, they are all very capable trail trucks and a blast to drive!! I tend to lean toward Axial so the Gladiators more in my wheelhouse, it's nice to see Redcat come out with a fresh look I only wish they would have scaled their doors and body panels a little better " maybe some paint and or stickers in the right spot can shrink them down a bit "...... Thanks 💯
Somehow that Gen9 looks better sitting in this group than on it's own. I am liking it more now, but I still think it's a 1:8 or 1:7 scale by body dimensions
Thank you. Comparisons are always hard and our weather has not cooperated. But we're happy with this result and the video has mad us appreciate each video more.
I'm a Traxxas fan but all did great, I would say whatever rig someone buys they will be ready for the woods, trails and some rocks.....great review of those rigs!!!
That cross RC looks more like Chevy blazer that front grill yeah I thought it was a bronco at first. As always appreciate you sharing will watch for the next one until then peace and chicken grease 😁👍👍😎
Love your videos, always great, calm & descriptive. I'm looking for recommendations for a budget builders kit, best bang for the buck, that scale hard bodies are available afterwards or come with it.
Gladiator is real impressive of all scx10 series, as usual your doing good comparison to our rc hobbyist out there my friend thanks a lot. On my own opinion the best is the VS4 10 PHOENIX the looks, functions, durability man amazingly Beautifully made and engineered.
@RCReviewChannel just a steering servo upgrade and a pro scale light kit. I'm taking it slow, I don't want to overspend by buying too much too quickly.
The Phoenix is a Great kit, these are all RTR and I don't think the Phoenix has a 2 speed tranny ,I believe the vfd has the 3 position overdrive and 2x4 4x4 option ,lil different comparison than what he has here...
With a little TLC some of these trail trucks can get within striking range of a comp truck. Biggest disadvantage to having a scale body/bumper is approach angles and getting caught in your body/fenders
@@RCReviewChannel Francis you should try proline Baja pro X 1.9s in predator compound! Don’t even use the stock foam! I’d love it if they fit the 21 bronco
With modification... bumper mount flip, cut body to get the bumper tucked, bumper delete is an option. You can also with some trucks change to a thinner bumper.. ❤RCcrawlers
All have 90mm shocks except for the Redcat Gen9 which has 97mm. The Element RC doesn't have portals or a 3rd drivetrain channel. Soo it's a bit simpler. The Element RC Knightrunner is a good vehicle.
@@RCReviewChannel I'd love to see element make a portal conversation kit for the elements. The new chassis transmission with ifs and portals would look good with a 2022 bronco body
I got the AT4, TRX4 (defender), SCX3 (kit). I like the trx the most. I drive alot on pavement so the open diff really makes a difference. AT4 had some QA issues which disappointed me, but it was all fixable. I made a tray so I could mount a short 3s battery on top of the motor of my AT4, sits kinda high, but it fits under the stock body.
Buddy Why didn't you add the TRX-4 Chevy K10 to spice things up with its long wheelbase like the Gladiator but with higher ground clearance and 2.2 wheels/tires.
I only see 2 somehwat disappointing things, #1) the body proportion is a tad out of spec #2) Redcat keeps raising their prices . Otherwise I think they did a really good job updating the chassis, axles ,etc with the new gen 9 scout truck...👍🏼💯
@@ConditionZero76 If you measure the body with blueprints for an actual Scout 800, they're extremely close. Got mine this weekend and checked. If you look at some Scout 800s in real life, they look oddly proportioned.

Great review. I think your trail shoot outs should be a regular thing on your channel.
I’m waiting for my red gladiator as we speak 🎁😊❤️🔥
Excellent shootout, they all look really fun and capable.
Yeah, since this filming, I've been playing with each truck and enjoying it more. I made a video for each since each one is worthy.
Great shootout . Nice footage . All fantastic trucks in their own ways .
Rrright? These are all worthy machines in this category.

Yeah that was really cool, 👍👍😎 This is my passion I love it, nice slow controlled crawling, I’m never in no hurry when I’m out tiny Truckin yeah

That gen9 is $225 on the redcat website right now. That's a crazy good value
It’s why I purchased 4 of them
Great video review, love the shootout format. It would be great to do one for the entry level crawlers, I'd be curious how the new Enduro Utron compares.
The Gen 9 may be a good descender but, I still prefer the Ascender.
Excellent shootout. Some skillful driving. The driver made them all look really good.
You know.... that is very, very true. Great driving and very consistent. Randy the Builder drove them all. After the first car, I decided he should drive them all since he was smooth and great baseline for these cars.
Need to do this again with the vanquish RTRs
Great review!!
Thanks
Much appreciated.

Aside from having to flip the portal gears to stop the clicking 😭 looking back, it was a very easy task lol
Great Video! Where are you testing your vehicles?
Excellent video. I love the k5 blazer 1979. Now I know that is the same orange bronco, just change the shell. I don’t know which buy now.
Yeah I like that bronco, really like the black one they have that would be my choice it was a nice climb

Thank you very much! Yeah, we'll see what we can do with the Redcat.

Can you please tell me what you used to cover the four holes in the spare wheel cover of the TRX4 Ford Bronco 2021?
Somehow that Gen9 looks better sitting in this group than on it's own. I am liking it more now, but I still think it's a 1:8 or 1:7 scale by body dimensions
True. The door panels are just a little big proportionally. But it's got its nice details.
I like my Traxxas 6×6.
Nice work on the video and comparison!
Thank you. Comparisons are always hard and our weather has not cooperated. But we're happy with this result and the video has mad us appreciate each video more.
Awesome Video !!!
Glad you enjoyed it
Sweet Review!
Rrrrrright? We got lucky and came up with some good insight on these vehicles.

Where was this? Looks like a rad spot!
Linda vista Park in Cupertino, CA
Great vid, looks so fun
Great comparison! 👍
Thank you. Helps owners and potential buyers learn more about the vehicles for sure.
Thank you for introducing me to a great car! It's a great video.~~~^_^

Yeah, the VS410 PHoenix would definitely do well in this company.
How does the Emo Bronco body compare to the Traxxas 79 Bronco body? Is it close to same size?
My 21 bronco is still where it's at.
Nice. Any mods?
@RCReviewChannel just a steering servo upgrade and a pro scale light kit. I'm taking it slow, I don't want to overspend by buying too much too quickly.
That gen 9 body is deff growing on me now
Looks good in the group. May we'll shorten the doors and side panels to fix the scale a bit.
I thought I left a transmitter on watching test 3 . That buzzing alarm in the background had me confused trying to find the source
Great videos! Love the channel! Can I ask what you use to film with and what do you use to edit your videos? Thank you.
A great comparison.
Wow, I thought for sure the trx4 would win the 2nd gear race. I was not expecting that.
Still loving my gladiator
Lucky. It's a good, balanced machine for sure.
Looked like Marty was trying to get the attention of Cowboy in the SXC 😂
no doubt
I wish the Phoenix had been included in this shootout test lol

You need to test em stock
True, but those become quickly useless because of huge tire differences. A spec tire test is better.
@@RCReviewChannel completely agree. It takes out at least one major factor. Especially when the stock tires just aren't up to par.
The CrossRC has a turning radius to make a stock Gen7 shake its head.
What is the travel of each? I would’ve like to have seen a Element in the mix they are in my option one of the top Crawling brands.

whats ur thoughts on the rgt tracer and challenger rigs fran ?
Oh man, that actually looks good. Fully modded out of the box. I'll see if I can get one.
Bronco 2021 wheel base is 12.8"
Could you do a review of rebel rc vs trx4 bronco?
Noice.

AT4 had some QA issues which disappointed me, but it was all fixable. higher speeds and pavement really call for open diffs.

Where the gmade
Why would you consider 1st gear a race? First is for crawling so the slower should win.
It's not so much a race but a comparison of their speed and gearing.
The Rock Socker is better than all of these and much cheaper, don't know you're trying to sell people more expensive cars that are not as good.
GEN 9 is really disapointing.
I agree but I think I still want one.
