As a hornets fan, I’m hoping we roll the dice on JJ. Tremendously high IQ and the young guys could use his words of experience from his 15 years in the league.
I definitely agree. Reddick's I.Q. should definitely transfer well. I love him and LeBron's new podcast and with him being a player coach, he'll be more relatable to his players and he'll bring the most out of Melo.
JJ Reddick would make a good coach if that is what he wants to do in his life. There. I said it. The man clearly, breathes, drinks and eats basketball. I love what he does as a basketball analyst, podcaster and sometimes game commentator. Clearly knows the game.
I do believe when healthy, we have one of the best young groups in the nba. Before he got hurt, Mark Williams was playing like one of the best centers in the league, and the same can be said for Lamelo. Once he hit his stride he was almost averaging a double double on like 28 points or something. Brandon miller is an All-NBA potential player, and let’s not forget about Miles Bridges, who is very gifted as well
Definitely young talent on the Hornets. Need a glue guy to put it all together. Maybe even an older vet like Chris Paul to help lead. If Lebron was on that team they would go from lottery team to contenders.
I don't think Mark Williams is gonna play like that consistently ngl and Miles Bridges got some consistency problems. A healthy Melo and Brandon Miller in the future could be dangerous tho
Honestly this just makes sense. I think it works. Not to mention he’s familiar with the state playing college ball in NC. Hornets need to get him before another team swoops in.
I think what JJ will bring to a team like Charlotte is accountability and discipline. As a distant outside looking at that team, that appears to be what the team lacks. JJ will be good for the organization.
Hornets fan since a pre-season practice first year that I attended in 1st grade... I like your take here, my man Doug from the Locked on Hornets podcast said just today or yesterday that IF the Hornets are going to take a risk on a coach, NOW is the time, with Lamelo and Brandon Miller under contract for years. Even if it doesn't work out in 1-2 years, this would be the time to try he suggested. I'd tend to agree, if that is the direction ownership is leaning.
Lamelo is accused of putting empty stats on a bad team? What about wimby????? Lol isn't that exactly what he's also doing? The spurs are worse than the hornets. This shit is hilarious
Gilbert’s comments are beyond stupid. He’s basically saying that Reddick has to learn all of coaching. There are tons of players with the same experience. He makes 0 sense.
The Klutch sports collusion with media like Gil err and JJ are so blatantly obvious. They can't even talk about Lebron in any negative light. Now Gilbert has to come fully to JJ Reddick's defense for some reason. This was all happening prior to Lebron and Reddick's show. Lebron is buying off media to call him the goat lol. The NBA will be completely ran by Lebron and his lottery winners moving forward. Hope y'all enjoy.
I LOVE THE VIDEOS!! escpically this one. as a hornets fan the future is bright but man do we need some veterans with playoff experience and a darn good coach. also we need lamelo ball to get his ankles fixed.
Minnesota didn’t make a mistake, Lamelo is always injured and Ant man is becoming the face of the league. Lamelo is just out there tatting himself up. Ant man has class and charisma.
Chauncey Billups was a high IQ basketball player that played just as many yrs in the league as Reddick and is straggling as hell with a talented Portland trailblazer team - so Gilbert arenas needs to stop with the nonsense that Reddick having 15 yrs playing and that's enough- Lets call it what it is - business as usually networking to funnel money to each other- i would not be surprised if Rich Paul is Reddick's agent.. P/S: why don't Lebron just be a player coach?
Hornets needs to build around Miller, not Lamelo. They also need to acquire a decent PG as well. Need to be available first and foremost. Can't build around someone who is always hurt and wearing street clothes.
Every young teams breakthrough came because of a coach. Coaches matter especially in crunch time getting the team level headed an speaking life into them. Sad thing is something young players can run a coach out too.
The hornets made easily the best decision in getting Brandon miller to me def has upside as a Jaylen brown/tatum type in this league him and melo will be great to watch
Jj reddick might not have experience as a coach but i don't know many people with his level of passion for the game theory aspect of this sport. he is very professionnal, very rationnal individual and a young small market team would be a great start to a coaching career. I am rooting for jj reddick 100%
They thought phill Jackson was a bad decision for the bulls but look what happened to them they won 6 championships maybe JJ can do the same for Carolina...
Reddick is quite knowledgeable yes but idk if his knowledge will translate as a coach. Something about doesn’t convince me he’ll be good at managing guys the way he needs to and having a clear distinction between him as a coach w his players.
I love lemelo he’s truly my favorite pg just for the fact I grew up watching him how older dudes grew up watching Lebron. I’ve been a fan of him and his brothers since he was a freshmen and what I will say about all the brothers except Gelo is they are very talented but they can not stay on the court between him and lonzo over the last 7 years they probably played less then 250 games combined
James Borrego was the best coach for this team. It's just that the front office was too lousy and Jordan wasnt good of an owner too. Plus, the guys wont play defense or dont care much about playing D. Glad, Borrego now is on the Pels.
I don’t think it’s as bad as you and these other TH-camrs are saying it is. He has first hand knowledge of the game of basketball and his takes are actually good btw
Jordan isn't the owner anymore, he sold his stock last year before the draft. But I get your point, JJ would be a good HC just like the points Gilbert made.
you obviously dont see his podcast with LeBron. ESPN is all for play play, if you never played the game, you shouldnt be coaching. AKA most coaches in the NBA, NCAA etc
tbh i think the hornets will have a good season now with a new coach coming in and having stars like Melo Bmiller Mark williams Tre mann /seth curry we never got to see the Melo play with the new guys like mann and curry we seen him play with bmill and mark and they’re a good trio.
What he said about Dillon Brooks is on the money. That alone tells you JJ will do good at that job. You need a guy who can manipulate and play with the pieces he is given. This is a guy who understands how to break it all down just like Gilbert was saying. There is a lot of stupidity and low IQ folks in the NBA right now. A mind like JJ coaching a young team that has literally no expectations. Its a great risk and you are in the eastern conference just getting a little better puts you in the playoffs.
As a hornets fan, I’m hoping we roll the dice on JJ. Tremendously high IQ and the young guys could use his words of experience from his 15 years in the league.
I too am a Hornets fan and I agree. JJ has a great basketball mind, and I’d welcome him as our next head coach.
I’m here bro 😎
It'll also bring way more eyes on the Hornets, which means money.
I look forward to seeing him lose and fail if he, in fact, gets the job.
yeah, you shouldn't. You running after BS
JJ Reddick would be an excellent head coach in Charlotte
Yeah idk why flight brought up his ESPN work

it doesnt, actually...just you watch

JJ Reddick would be legitimate as a HC

Lamelo ball should have been a warrior
Coaches dont really move the needle in todays NBA like they did in the past, the players mostly think they know it all already...
Bro did a podcast with lebron and now everyone think he is suited to be a coach
nice piece
I honestly feel like Rajon Rondo would be a better head coach for the Charlotte Hornets
They thought phill Jackson was a bad decision for the bulls but look what happened to them they won 6 championships maybe JJ can do the same for Carolina...
Dwayne “The Flight” Johnson
This’ll be cool to see I say they should go for it, I got a good feeling about it.
I blame the early version of Zo1 for Lonzos injury
Next we'll hear LeBron retires and wants to buy the Hornets, lol.
I hope JJ gets this job fr fr … this would be the best thing the hornets did since drafting Chris Paul
thinking that playing roles and coaching roles are anywhere near the same thing further proves why i can never take arenas seriously.
