I met Michael in Garabandal 2 years ago. I am a flight attendant for a major US Airline. I had a 2 day layover in Madrid, so my friend and I drove the 5 hours from Madrid to San Sebastián de Garabandal. We stayed in Asturias but spent a day walking around the village and exploring. It wasn’t until we were getting ready to return to Madrid that I made my last visit in the Visitors Center. I met Michael and he and I spoke at length. I speak Spanish but I was so taken aback to hear English spoken, and with an American accent! He was very kind, very informative and generous. I think Michael will remember this conversation.
    I would love to return

I first heard of Garabandal on EWTN July 1994. I went back to confession and Mass 8/4/94...Feast of St. John Vianney. I am also from Delaware County, St. Philomena parish, but now attend the Traditional Latin Mass. Though I always loved my Faith, and never stopped praying, I was lazy and did not receive the Sacraments as I should. I will be FOREVER in debt to Our Lady for nudging me back via the Message of Garabandal. We were very blessed to have Mother Angelica and EWTN to guide us.

I remember in the spring of 1957 when I was a senior in college in Pennsylvania that it was reported in the national news that the message of Fatima had been forwarded to Rome from Portugal through TWO SEPARATE TRANSMISSIONS, two days apart. One transmission must have been the single sheet of paper that contained the actual words of Our Lady of Fatima that explained the MEANING of the apparition that Lucia, Francisco and Jacinta had just seen. The other transmission must have been Lucia’s notebook that described the apparition. When the Vatican released the Secret of Fatima in 2000, the actual words of Our Lady of Fatima were omitted.
Antonio Socci’s book, The Fourth Secret of Fatima, should be read by everyone who wants to know the full story.

Michael if you ever get to San Giovanni and speak to Bro Emerlinda who actually knew and lived with Padre Pio then he will tell you a completely different story.

    • @michaelstephen6773
      @michaelstephen6773 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@markmcintyre8102Padre Bernardino Cennamo, OFM Cap (the Superior of the Capuchin Order) would refute the claims made by Bro Emerlinda. Just a question: Was Bro Emerlinda ever a stone cutter?
Upon Padre Pio’s death in 1968, his close friend Padre Bernardino Cennamo, OFM Cap, was instructed to give Conchita several of his personal items. The priest gave Conchita one of the three veils that covered Padre Pio's face during his wake, saying that the stigmatic had requested this before he died. Conchita also was given Padre Pio's rosary, and one of the gloves he wore, stained by his stigmata.
Padre Pio affirmed Garabandal to Joachim Bouflet Ph.D in confession. Joachim Bouflet, Ph.D. (Doctor and Professor of Philosophy in the Sorbonne University of Paris and Consultant of the Congregation for the causes of the Saints in Rome) went to Padre Pio for confession on the evening of the 23rd of August 1968 [1 month before his death on 23 September 1968]. Padre Pio told him "Pray to the Madonna. Consecrate yourself to the Virgin of Carmel." "Yes, Padre, I pray to Our Lady of Mount Carmel. For that matter, I would like to become a Carmelite." He didn't comment on this but repeated with insistence, "Consecrate yourself to the Virgin of Carmel who appeared at Garabandal."
      Bouflet: "So it's true?"
Padre Pio: "Certo e vero!" ("Yes, it's true!") Padre Saavedra, Garabandal Message of Hope, p. 244
From the book “Our Lady comes to Garabandal” by Fr. J. Pelletier, A.A., p. 219.
“While he was living, the same Padre Pio guaranteed the authenticity of the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin. He met Conchita at San Giovanni Rotondo [January 1966]. Even during the last days of his life he talked about this to his brothers in religious life and left a personal message for the principle personage of the apparitions.”
From the book “The Final Hour” by Michael Harold Brown, p.141.
On the topic of Padre Pio’s belief in Garabandal: “Asked on another occasion about its authenticity, he answered curtly, “How many times must she appear there to be believed?”
From the book “Thunder of Justice” by Ted and Maureen Flynn, p. 163.
An incident which confirms Padre Pio’s belief in Garabandal occurred early in 1966. Conchita, who was only 16 years old, was visiting Rome with her mother and Fr. Luna. She had been invited by Cardinal Alfredo Ottaviani, Prefect of the Sacred Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith. During the visit to Italy, Conchita met privately with Padre Pio. On this occasion, Padre Pio took Conchita’s hand and her crucifix that Our Lady had kissed in Garabandal and held them both in his own two hands. The crucifix had passed through the hands of the Child Jesus, during the apparition of 13 November 1965.

And deeper than anything mentioned here is the horrific realization that the novus ordo also changed the episcopal ordination. This is what the sedevacantists talk about. I'm not a sede but they do have a point regarding the changes made to the episcopal ordination. This is why Archbishop Lefevre started his own seminary so that the original Ordination rites were held complete as they always had been in past centuries. It does bring to light that If the bishops are not fully ordained they cannot ordain priests. And this is why among the canceled priests why many of them have been conditionally re-ordained, secretly. I remember a year or so ago Mel Gibson had many of these priests over to his home/ the church that he built and a very well-known traditional Bishop provided conditional re-ordination in the old rite. Some say it was Bishop Williamson course he has not said anything and nor do we know the names of the priests. But it's a very sobering thought.
When I think of the lack of traditional Catholic theology for seminarians being ordained at a diocesan levels across this country. They could never get Through the original seminary training that a sedevacantist seminarian goes through today. It's daunting but It is the exact kind of clear training that all seminarians used to get..but now lack due to modern formation methods.

The church is running scared and Garabandal hits right between the eyes. It took years for Fatima and Akita among numerous apparitions for the Church to officially recognize these apparitions. That's why I couldn't give a rats hind end if the Vatican approves this or not. Padre Pio KNEW the truth and I personally feel he was FAR more holy than the last 3 popes in Rome. He was entrusted with a locution from the Blessed Mother...don't think any several popes can claim that. Think on that very carefully...she revealed herself to him...not the pope. Ask yourself why?

Blessings, gratitude! Let us bear in mind that the last advocation of Our Lady that the children saw in Fatima was Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Who waved goodbye and said to them something like '...until St. Sebastian of Spain...' And I have a feeling It could well be Garabandal the place described in the Fatima secret (the Pope leading, going up a hill...); as he may arrange a visit/pilgrimage there when the Warning, Miracle happen, he sees it wherever he is, a sign is left. Also, it could well be during a visit to Fatima itself! Only God knows! There are other terrains where the secret could happen, even though I am inclined towards Garabandal, connected and/or seems like it is a continuation of Fatima, in my humble opinion. Let us pray fervently, keep the Sacraments up to date, be in a state of grace, wear the brown Scapular, pray the Holy Rosary, be good as Our Lady said. God forgive, sanctify, bless, save us all. In Jesus' Name we humbly, gratefully pray, Loving Father.
    🙏🌲🙏

31:17 This is what I too, after much research, study & prayer, have come to the conclusion of. I believe this is exactly what the true sec was referring to.
Quito, Ecuador, Our Lady of Buen Sucesso 400 years before mentions many of the same points. Ecuador & much of Latin America was also later subsumed by atheistic mr×sm with the CC being under consistent persecution.
Rome's lack of obedience to Our Lady & ultimately Christ, loss of belief in the Supernatural has sacrificed Sacred Tradition, Sacred Heritage, two millennia worth upon the altar of atheistic mr×sm [which IS a religion]. Tragic.

The alleged apparitions at Garabandal have not been approved by the Catholic Church, and have not been established as supernatural.
Extract from a Letter of Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger to His Excellency José Vilaplana, bishop of Santander:
      28 November 1992
'...Therefore, this dicastery suggests to you that, if you deem it necessary, you publish a declaration in which you reaffirm the non constat of the supernatural nature of the apparitions in question, adopting as your own the unanimous positions of the preceding Ordinaries of that diocese...

This is incorrect. The status is and has always been "non constat de supernaturalite" That is the "middle" status of the 3 possible statuses for an alleged apparition up until a week ago (a new classification system for apparitions was issued by the Vatican on May 17 2024. Perhaps Garabandal will be re-classified but for the moment it remains non-constat). Up until now if you requested a letter from the diocese of Santander that's what it said. It's worth noting that many apparitions started off as Non Constat until sufficient proof emerged to declare it "Constat de supernaturalite". For the sake of completeness "condemned" would correspond to "Constat de non supernaturalite" an example of this is Bay Side New York.

The notion that Vatican Ii cannot be questioned. How can that square with the idea that Vatican Ii was not going to present any dogma.i don't understand why you don't the rejection of the message of Garabandal and the four girls were treated horriibly by several bishops of Santander, one after another. There is nothing in the message of Garabadal contrary in any way contrary to Catholic teaching. Garabandal happened during Vatican II. The rejection of the Garabandal message was very similar to that of Vatican II. Also this council was extremely optimistic, so bishops were not willing to accept a message about priests, bishops and cardinals would mislead the faithful. So, the message of Garabandal was squashed. A commision was established. Part of it was a psychiatric who was an aethist who never even met the girls..
If you were going to talk about Garabadal, why did you said alimost nothing about the messages iof Garabandal and the way the girls were treated. There are two very interesting documentals about Garabandal . Why don't you dubbb them iinto English?

It is therefore blasphemous to declare this apparition to be the Mother of Jesus, and to quote these messages as coming from Our Blessed Lady when the Church has not declared the identity of this apparition.

@@mn17771 This is a non-sequitur. The notion that it is forbidden (much less blasphemous) to promote apparitions which have a status of "non-constat" is nowhere in current Church law. There are currently no prohibitions in place with respect to Garabandal. By the way, while he did not change the "Non Constat" finding of his predecessor, José Vilaplana, bishop of Santander, actually believed in the apparitions himself. He received the visionaries for friendly visits on multiple occasions among them a visit by Mari Loli when he was hospitalized toward the end of his life; he venerated her Crucifix which was kissed by Our Lady during the apparitions. There are photos. Approval won't come until the events prophesied there come to pass.

    • @Frank91815
      @Frank91815 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Not quite. If the Bishops wanted to say that then they would have said "Constat de non Supernaturalite" which means It IS established as not supernatural. The actual finding for Garabandal however is "Non Constat de Supernaturalite" which means "It is not established as Supernatural". The former is condemnation (i.e., it's definitely not supernatural) the latter is a we don't know ( it hasn't been proven) mm17771's excerpt below shows the Non Constat finding. Precision matters.

I did not say that it was explicitly forbidden to promote apparitions that have not been approved by the Church, however it may be unwise to do so, especially as it gives rise to confusion.
For example, regarding Medjugorje, the apparitions are not approved but the Church has allowed pilgrimages under the following conditions.
In 2019, Alessandro Gisotti, of the Vatican Press Office said that the papal authorization for pilgrimages to Medjugorje must be accompanied by "care to prevent these pilgrimages from being interpreted as an authentication of known events, which still require examination by the Church. Therefore, care must be taken to avoid creating confusion or ambiguity from the doctrinal point of view regarding such pilgrimages. This also concerns pastors of every order and level who intend to go to Medjugorje and celebrate or concelebrate there even in a solemn way."
The issue of blasphemy is a separate matter. Describing any apparition as being Our Blessed Lady and attributing messages as being from Our Lady is wrong when the Church has not established an apparition as being Our Lady. It might be her, but equally it might not. We can't know until the Church gives its approval.
This matter of attributing the identity of Our Blessed Lady to unapproved apparitions is discussed in a video 'Discerning Apparitions - Medjugorje' on the Sensus Fidelium channel on TH-cam.

@@mn17771 If what you're saying is "I think it's imprudent to put faith in this unapproved apparition" then I wouldn't argue at all. That's a prudential judgement each person needs to make and if that's where you landed, well that makes sense. I'm familiar with the Sensus Fidelium video and various others on the topic by Father Ripperger, Wolfe and others. There are risks when it comes to alleged apparitions, the demons have quite a bit of access to our emotions and if one is very given to chasing "experiences" and visions and this sort of thing then it can be dangerous. No question. Where I disagree is when you accuse these people of blasphemy - as that's quite an accusation of material mortal sin. I think it should be understood that Mr. Hottinger and Doctor Moynihan are giving their own private opinions in the context of an apparition which is known to be Non-Constat; they have not claimed any authority to speak for The Church. For that matter even when they speak about the content of the Fatima 3rd Secret it's just their opinion - and that goes for Malachi Martin, Father Gruner and anybody else who on TH-cam who has spoken of the 3rd secret. In the Catholic Church, there are some things we absolutely must believe, there are some things we must not believe and there are some things we are permitted to have an opinion on. To accuse someone of blasphemy for expressing an opinion permitted by the Church is, in a sense, usurpation of the authority of the Church by the accuser.

Was it blasphemous to visit Padre Pio and avail oneself of his special gifts while he was still alive and had a “non constat” status? Was it blasphemous to be present at the Cova during the apparitions? (Official Church approval came later). It’s fine and perhaps even prudent to choose to personally be wary and even avoid apparitions still in the “non constat” state but when you declare that people sharing their views to be “blasphemous” it's you who's crossing the line.
