I think that ch5 ending and ch6 start is the best part of the game, but the rest of ch6 isn't as good as it should have been. Meanwhile another incredible moment is the start of ch5, when we arrive at the City and everyone is so confuse by everything for us(players) is normal life. They wrote that part very good.
I agree. I think I ended up putting chapter 6 above chapter 5 because I was just so shocked about M and Mio swapping bodies. But both chapters are peak in my opinion.
Pretty good ranking! If I had to choose myself... 1. Chapter 5: enough has been said already, top Xenoblade moments ever 2. Chapter 4: super intense, there are like 3 climaxes (O&P, the Annihilator and the Queen reveal) 3. Chapter 1: One of the best introductions to any game ever, I get chills on EVERY. SINGLE. REWATCH. 4. Chapter 7: unironically one of my favorite final boss fights ever, super climactic. Also my personal favorite ending in the series 5. Chapter 6: basically an extension to chapter 5, short but sweet. The only reason it's this low is because as I said, it is admittedly very short and Captocorn Peak is kinda meh 6. Chapter 3: holy shit the reveals here went crazy, when we see Eunie's corpse, when Joran appeared out of nowhere as a Moebius, and who can forget the epic fight against Isurd with our brand new Agnian Ouroboros 7. Chapter 2: very nice chapter to get to know the characters and start some bonds between them, the final cutscene against Colony 4's Ferronis is still to this day one of my favorites of the game. As you said, all these are basically on the same level. Ranking them has been SO hard. The only one I'd say is clearly on top is Chapter 5, and then Chapter 2 is the only one I feel confident putting at the bottom. The rest could very well be swapped at any time lol

I myself was also surprised about my first place. However, chapter 5 and chapter 6 are equally good to me. I think it was just the reveal that Mio and M switched bodies that made such a big impact on the game that if the player didn't like that, chapters 6 and 7 are basically ruined. But luckily I thought it was a super cool plot twist which led me to like the game even more. :)) Also sorry for not including the wotah scene hahaha ;_;

The beggining is still great and meeting Nia is awesome but i feel like afther Chapter 6, the only truly good thing narrative wise other than some things of the side stories are the last face off against N and Z + the ending
Some characters returning from the dead were indeed very random and very unnecessary. They could also give Joran a little more depth instead of making him feel a bit cringe to the player. However I like chapter 6 just as a whole and I think because of the big impact it made on me in my first playthrough it is in first place.
Ghondor: YOU GOT A PROBLEM WITH IT Me: Yes I might as well make a list too Spoilers: 7. Chapter 7 I feel this chapter was a bit boring at the start. Crys felt a bit shoved in and exploring origin was okay but it didnt have good enemy variety and it didnt feel nearly as impactful as xenoblade 1 or 2s final area. 6. Chapter 2 This is a chapter i really like but i feel like if i played this game again it would be a lot worse so thats why im putting it here. I really enjoyed the areas in this chapter but it gets so good when fighting colony 4. That segment was incredible. 5. Chapter 6 If i didnt consider that i would probably find chapter 2 worse this would have been lower. That moment right after chapter 5 is incredible but thats all this chapter offers. The new area was very small and boring. Mio's side story should have been something we stumbled upon in the main game plot instead of her knowing about it, just sort of removed a bit of the fun. I enjoyed the D and J fight but the last 2 chapters in this game just lose the thing that makes them special i dont know why, they just arent as good. 4. Unlocking the rests of the ouroboros forms were great and the new areas in this chapter are so fun to explore. 1. Chapter 4 This is easily the best chapter in the game. It has the best areas in the game. Makthna Wildwood, Great Cotte Falls mainly but keves castle and syra hovering reefs are also great. This chapter feels perfect in its escalation of the story. Great moments in keves castle and with characters like ethel and cammuravi. This was easily the most fun i had with the game and gets an easy number 1 from me. I beat xenoblade 3 8 days ago so this is all very fresh. Hope you liked the list.

I would put chapter 5 as my top. Unfortunately, I found the pacing of chapter 6 awful. After almost an hour of powerful cutscenes at the end of 5, I did not want another hour of cutscenes to start off a new chapter. So I found the revelations big, but tedious to get through. The game fell off hard for me post-chapter 5. But I loved Future Redeemed, which redeemed the base game for me!
Understandably, now that I look back at all the chapters in general, I still find it very difficult to rank them because chapter 6 gave me a feeling on my first playthrough that I have never felt before, which I think makes it so special for me. But I completely understand now that I look back on it that some people thought it went a little too fast and so on. :]

Even though I have some negatives, I want to make sure it’s clear that this series’ worst game is still way better than most series can dream of. The cliffhanger and resolution from Ch. 5 - Endgame was really obvious and disappointing to me, and it really just made me question Noah’s resolve. He can will Lucky Seven whenever he wants, but he chooses to let M(io) die because he doesn’t want to fight, even though just cutting through the prison bars wouldn’t require anyone getting hurt. However, he draws L7 in side quests almost every time, cutting down bosses left and right, and even pulls it out to flex on Garvel in Lanz’s side quest, even though it’s 100% not necessary. The story felt undercooked to me and left me with a sour taste when I finished (even though the gameplay is top tier. I put in over 100 hours) I do think playing XC1-2 before this definitely did a disservice to me, since I was wanting the story and resolution I got from Future Redeemed in the main game, and I kept expecting some big tie-in (like the end of 2) that I didn’t really get. If FR came out first, and 3 was released after, my opinion would have been much higher (though Noah being a lame protagonist to me wouldn’t change) I felt that the story (and especially the villains) needed another year or so in the oven to be fully cooked. It’s still a great JRPG, but it’s a tier lower than the first couple games to me. Future Redeemed fixes most of my story issues and plot holes, and it might get me to replay the base game, but it doesn’t alleviate that the base game felt incomplete and undercooked to me.
I'd say 5 > 4 > 1 > 3 > 2 >>>>>>> 7 > 6 I feel like with chapter 6, if you like everything that happens in it, then yeah it'll be amazing because like you say it's all really big moments. But I personally find chapter 6 singlehandedly ruined the story for me. All the stakes went out the window cuz everybody they ever lost comes back conveniently and all the sadness you felt throughout the first 5 chapters were invalidated. It also just started feeling random, aimless, and convenient, with the main plot of Mio dying being resolved. Chapter 7 wasn't as bad, but it was a little boring with the whole origin metal stuff. The ending was nice, but it did feel like it came out of nowhere. The actual areas for both chapters were also not great, capticorn and origin
I must agree with you about the areas. The areas in these two chapters are quite weak compared to the rest of the game. Also I found the Origin section in Chapter 7 was way too long and it felt like hours before I got to Z. But indeed as you say if you don't like chapter 6 that actually just ruins the whole story due to the big plot twist etc but thanks for sharing your opinion!! :))
