Thank you for having your Sabbath on a Saturday as God said. Also let us all remember the Sabbath is a day to recharge and connect with God. A day to rest and a day to deeper our connection to God
I go to church to worship God and to participate in weekly Bible study as well as sing hymns and listen to a message from the pulpit and fellowship with other believers. I also give offerings and after church I eat the lunch that I had made the day before and then I take a nap and later in the afternoon I might go visit family or I hand out literature or if there is a program on a the church I would attend. Just before sunset I will pray and sing to God and then the Sabbath is over. I'm so thankful for the Sabbath day. ❤
If you complain because people are busy and don't make time for you, just ask yourself if you make time for God. It's the best company and gift to God, ourselves and all around us. Happy Sabbath ✨️💖✨️
@@brenosantana1458 Was Paul a Sabbath keeper? No! He was not, for the Scripture says he preached Christ who came and was “born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons” (Galatians 4:4-5). Folks, let the Scripture speak for itself. It has said Paul was not a Sabbath keeper and served the Lord under the New Testament. Regarding the Old Testament Paul said, “For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope” (Romans 15:4).
@@brenosantana1458 Just because you don't except it, does mean that Paul wasn't an Apostle. The Bible says he was. Galatians 1:1 Paul, an apostle (not sent from men nor through the agency of man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised Him from the dead), Romans 1:1 Paul, a bond-servant of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God, 1 Corinthians 1:1 Paul, called as an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother, 1 Timothy 2:7 For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying) as a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
Saving this vid to watch again. Your Sabbath practices are inspiring. Seeing the peace, happiness and flow throughout this special day and most importantly what it means for your relationship w/ God answered a question I’ve been meditating on. Lately on my walk I’ve been too hard on myself about how & what are acceptable Sabbath practices. Your message reminded me that the Sabbath should reflect your personal relationship with Jesus. No need to let other’s interpretations influentially constrict & mentally torment this day of rest. Just keep it Holy & center your thoughts & actions around the Lord. Thanks 🙏🏼
We are Torah observant, whole-Bible keepers, and we've been keeping Sabbath for about 5 years now. It has been such a blessing, and much needed each week! It sometimes isn't as restful as I would like, with 2 little children and lots of animals to look after, but I rest as much as possible and try to spend a lot of the day in the Word. Many Christians don't see the importance of a Sabbath rest each week, and I actually wrote an article about this a little while back. Thanks for doing a video about it and inspiring others to keep the 4th commandment!
Why is the Sabbath observed on Saturday according to the Gregorian calendar, which was established much later, around 4321 years after the creation? Why isn't it aligned with the Creator's ruling based on Genesis 1:16?
Thank you so much for this video! My family never practiced the Sabbath but I always felt a conviction too, just had no clue how to go about it. Starting tomorrow, i want to build a habit of stepping back after the week and checking in with God, allowing my body and soul to rest. Thank you! 🧸
Hi! I’m a seventh day Adventist, I know I’m late but I just wanted to give a friendly reminder that God also said to keep the sabbath a holy and we aren’t supposed to cook. I have been keeping the sabbath my whole life and cooking and preparing for those sabbath is some on Friday
Hey Ashley I love your videos so much. U give really good advice and ur videos are so comforting and vibey. It also helped me to strengthen my prayer life with the Lord.

@@SabbathDetective-bx4jb hi Im not really sure about the answer to your question. I recently converted to Christianity. But maybe you could research it further.
🧸 This is a great routine for a single gal like yourself 🥰 I am a wife and mom of 6, so my Sunday mornings are a bit different! Still, even for someone in a different stage of life, your channel has uplifted me so many times! ❤️ Keep doing you!😊
The seventh day Sabbath is (Saturday) that is the day set aside sanctify and made it holy. Yes it does matter the day because there is no other day that God himself has set aside and made Holy. God bless hope this truth leads you closer to Christ ! Amen God bless. Jesus said I am the WAY, the LIFE and the Truth. Jesus doesn't want us to walk in error but in Truth. May God give you discernment to know Truth from Error. Amen Amen and Amen 🥰🥰🥰☺️
Thank you 🙏🏻 I agree ☝🏻. Yehovah set the seventh day Sabbath as a day to set HIS people apart from the other nations and said that it would be a covenant between him and his people “For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord BLESSED the Sabbath day and made it HOLY.” Exodus 20:11 ESV Some people may think that one can pick any day to be sabbath but I think that takes away from the holiness of the sabbath. When people try to say that Jesus abolished the sabbath, I just think that is not true, he rebuked the Pharisees when they were saying that he broke the sabbath by healing people and doing good. Anyway please remember (to anyone reading this comment) if you are a Christian we are supposed to be set apart from the world. And I think taking a set apart day (that God set apart not what is convenient to us) is a good sign that we are different and set apart ❤ I hope that God will maybe use this comment to speak to anyone who is searching. God bless ❤
Does it even matter? I'm pretty sure only Jewish people do it. Christians don't normally follow all these rules. This is why: The Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath” (Matthew 12:8). "Christ’s first coming did not abolish rest; it ushered in a deeper kind of rest than the Sabbath could ever offer.”
People should identify with being a Bible believer. Nothing else matters. No labels are necessary. SDA was started by a deranged woman called Ellen White who made stuff up in her fictionalized Bible commentaries. She writes as if she was some authority yet nothing could be further from the truth. The Bible warns about being taught by women. This is a sign the SDA's were wrong. I agree with the Sabbath of course - its Biblical. Did Ellen White ever discuss the fact that she started a movement and she was female? How did she feel about it? Its pretty clear in the Bible what God thinks about it. Men are to lead, women are to support. And that support can be many different ways. We need each other.
I don't know why anyone would mention this. Founded by Ellen White. What does the Bible tells us about female teachers? She founded an entire religion. Have you read her material? Its ludicrous. She extrapolates ridiculous things she has no clue about, as if she was right there beside Jesus. She was a nut case that wrote seemingly non-stop all her life. Well quantity doesn't equal quality. The Sabbath is good and we should treasure it. Yes its ridiculous that almost all churches ignore it. Their loss. But we're also instructed not to let it divide us. God knew many believers would ignore it and wants us to teach by example. We all need time off so why not take the same day each week? Its really silly when you think about it. Why would anyone NOT observe the Sabbath? Its mentioned all through the New Testament, something most Christians conveniently ignore. Even in Revelation! There are no denominations in the Bible. Humans are flawed so don't peg yourself to one group. We can learn from almost everyone. Though dead churches like the United and Anglican ones will put you to sleep in their spiritual vacuum. All we need is a group that treasures and actively engages in the Bible. Because at the end of the day, that's all we have. One book, inspired by God. Our owner's manual for life.
🧸 I am super loving your videos, you are such an inspiring gal and I feel so much closer to God this week just because you help me put dreams into practice! Keep at this please, lots of love 💗
This is an awesome way to rest in the Lord!!! Not at all criticizing but I myself would have a pre made lunch with my dad. We are not to work and/or create work for others. Not even the stranger that lies within thy gates, meaning no one. This means restaurant staff as well, even if they don’t acknowledge the sabbath.
Your videos keep popping up on my feed I just love you girl! Your personality is everything! I love the sabbath, this past weekend I slept in, did Bible study with a friend, and just relaxed with some family. I’m glad God gave us a command to rest one day a week, I truly enjoy just resting on the sabbath since my weeks are hectic! Thanks for sharing 🤍🙏🏽
Thanks so much for this video! I just found your channel bc of Pinterest, and now I’m so grateful that the Lord brought me here! Hearing how a fellow Christian girl lives her life is so inspiring!! You’ve definitely been the little boost that I’ve needed for a while. God bless!!
Thank you for sharing your Sabbath rest with us. It's wonderful to see you observing God's commandments. I spend much of my Sabbath rest doing many of the same things as you Ashley... yay, we're kindred Spirits! I keep eating out and shopping for the other six days of the week, to allow others to observe the Sabbath day as well. Keep spreading God's Word and enjoy His many wonderful blessings!
I belong to some SDA groups on Facebook. I witness there and preach present truth on The Sabbath. I don't open any secular groups on the Sabbath and keep my conversations about God. I am watching this video on the Sabbath.
@Arthur H The day of remembrance for the Christian is the first day of the week., not the Sabbath or seventh day of the week. It is upon this day, the first day of the week, that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead (John 20:1). It was upon this day that first century Christians remembered the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord by partaking of the Lord’s Supper (Acts 20:7). Just as the Sabbath was a day of remembrance for the Hebrew relative to his deliverance from Egyptian bondage, so is the first day of the week a day set aside for the Christian to remember his deliverance from the bondage of sin through Christ’s sacrificial death.

@kac, have you looked up why the Sabbath changed from Sat to Sun or is this what you were simply told. The history of the change is interesting but it's the same church that declared Dec 25th to be Jesus's birthday and created Easter. For those who do not know, it's the Catholic church who declared the change. One article I read is the gentiles did not want to be mistaken as a Jewish person. Like I said, look it up, it is quite interesting!
Stumble on this chanel about sabbath. I’m also a Sabbath keeper love that you came to this truth. Now I was gonna say you should add a worship in church with other believers and you would get blessing from it as God said here “not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” Hebrews 10:25 NKJV we learn more when we’re with other sabbath believers and study together and get God blessing keep up the good work
your Sabath look great! Just one thing! And i hope this can help you on your spiritual growth. · When we read the New Testament, we see that there is not a single example of Christians keeping the Sabbath. Rather we find them observing Sunday, the first day of the week. (Acts 20:7) “Now on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul, ready to depart the next day, spoke to them and continued his message until midnight.”
Hi Ashley! My name is Ashley too! Appreciate and luv your videos! I like the aesthecity of ur vlogs and ur Christian-being tutorials. I just want to ask if it is ok to not go on church on Sabbath day as Christians? Thank you❣️🥰🇵🇭
Loved this video. Currently in motherhood season ,but seeing this helps me keep in mind to do some small changes on my rest day to feel more refreshed to start my day with the kids. This was so encouraging
That's awesome that you are keeping the Sabbath. I have found it to be quite a blessing since I have started keeping it however, you are not supposed to go to restaurants on the Sabbath because God commands us not to buy, sell or make other people do any normal work on the Sabbath which includes working at a restaurant. If you read, Exodus 20:8-11 it says that we are not even supposed to make the foreigners work. In other words non-Christians. I used to also go to restaurants on the Sabbath but then I wasn't able to get a job because it required me to work on the Sabbath. After that, I realized that I was depriving other people from keeping the Sabbath by going to stores and restaurants on the Sabbath.

You're very inspiring thank you so much for all of the Christian content. Also I would love to see a whole house tour! I loved your room, but I'd love to see the rest and more q +a !!
Looking at this I understand you are keeping sabbath according to the light you know and that's beautiful, I do advise to do further study on sabbath especially Isaiah 58:13-14 and many more scriptures about it. It's a beautiful day filled with joy and love and blessings but one will miss the mark of the day if one focuses on oneself and not God.
I absolutely agree with your comment! Well said. I am new ( several months) to observing Saturday sabbath and it is polar opposite of how I was raised, so I don’t have family support. I am still learning every week, which is what lead me to this video. I am looking for ways to “delight in this day” without making it about myself and my desires. It has been very hard not to get discouraged because I am a single person and I haven’t quite figured out how to navigate the entire sabbath ( Friday sunset- Saturday sunset) without feeling lonely. I am following scripture, mainly the one you mentioned. I don’t spend money, cook, work, or travel about, unnecessarily. Mostly I do feel privileged to be in the presence of God and take time to pray and express gratitude for overcoming the past week and strength to endure the coming week … but then some days I look outside and see what a beautiful day it is and long to be out there living life “ as usual”.. I will continue to pray for direction because I would rather sacrifice all the pleasures of life to be pleasing to God. But thank you for your comment. It was confirmation that I am not the only person who is trying to observe the sabbath, the Bible way.
@@knd7777 May he continue to lead you so you never have to be alone I hope you find a community to share it with but while your on it alone may He be your companion through the lonely times and good times and I know he is aware of your joys and struggles so definitely he will send the right people your way and he hears your prayers. You are not alone. Keep strong 💪🏽 and take one day at a time. Remember to keep basking in his love always. God already loves you and has loved you. That as your back bone makes it all the worthwhile. Nature is a beautiful place to learn of God, sabbath walks are neat and being about your Heavenly Father’s business is one of many ways to honor the sabbath that’s what I have found but we continue learning as we grow in this walk of faith.
▸ Keeping the sabbath was part of the law that Christ took away. “He . . . canceled out the certificate of death consisting of decrees against us . . .; and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Therefore no one is to act as your judge in regard to food or drink or in respect to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day-things which are a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ” (Colossians 2:14-17). Christians are no more obligated to keep the sabbath than the other Old Testament festivals or its food and drink regulations! In fact, we are warned against going back to the Law to justify our practices. To do so severs us from Christ (Galatians 5:1-4).
The mosaic law was done away with but not the decalogue that is the 10 commandments of which keeping the sabbath is a part of EXODUS 20: 1-17 if that were so then it's okay for me to kill you or anyone you love, to lie, to steal and to covert anything you have and not be judged for it because hey we are not obligated to keep the law according to you yes right? Then the scripture saying i have not come to destroy the law but to fulfill it in MATTHEW 5:17-20 it means nothing then according to you.@@kac0404
Isaiah 58:13 Keep the Sabbath day holy. Don't pursue your own interests on that day, but enjoy the Sabbath and speak of it with delight as the Lord's holy day. Honor the Sabbath in everything you do on that day, and don't follow your own desires or talk idly.
No way! I was literally planning on making a video about how I keep the Sabbath just the other day and just saw this video pop up. What are the odds lol. Anyways, enjoyed watching how you keep the Sabbath. I love how you said we ‘get’ to rest because God rested. A lot of the time the Sabbath is unfortunately presented in such a legalistic way (similarly to how the Pharisees presented it in the gospels) and so it’s so refreshing to hear you explain it how God meant it to be: as something we get to do and delight in. Rest is so underrated - especially in hustle culture nowadays. Thank you for this video and thank you Jesus for Sabbath 🙏🏽🕊
Please can someone who is experienced tell me if i should do the sabbath every Saturday each week im confused 😅 please tell me if i should do it ewch Saturday ❤
*Read your Bible* Colossians 2 16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ.
I mean this in a loving way because I love how you are keeping Sabbath in your heart. Usually, we do not go out and buy anything on Sabbath. If we are not supposed to work, why make others work? If we are going out to eat, we know that the workers are not keeping the Sabbath.

Hey Ashley ! I’m confused which day is the sabbath I grew up thinking it was on a Sunday. My grandpa is a seven day Adventist and he always believed the sabbath is from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown
After Jesus rose, I feel we were encouraged to celebrate Resurrection every Sunday thereafter! I like the concept of Sat being a day of rest and reflection, and Sunday worship in community- and not frequent businesses!!!!!! I feel our lives and families could benefit from only necessities being open like the ER I’m a single mom working 3 jobs but Sundays for me are a non negotiable I’m inspired here though to dig deeper and see what I can do to get more recharges in. AS HE ALWAYS PROVIDES Blessings to you all

The 4th commandment which tells us to REMEMBER to keep the sabbath day holy… it’s the only commandment that starts with the word “remember”, I think we should still obey His law even though it’s “old”. Why? Cause we love Him
@seed1751 THE MOSAIC COVENANT WAS TEMPORARY This covenant was divine, good, and holy since it came from God. However, it was God’s design that it would be a temporary covenant. In Jeremiah 31:31 we read what God said through the prophet concerning the temporary nature of this covenant. He said. ““Behold, days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD.” (Jeremiah 31:31). Jeremiah delivered God’s message of judgement to Israel. And as God does in His discipline, He also gave Israel a light of hope. God contrast the covenant they were in, the one given after the exodus, with the coming new covenant that will not be like the former one. In the New Testament we read of Jesus statement in Matthew 5:17-18, ““Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished.” Now those who teach that the sabbath is still binding today will say that Jesus is saying here that He is not removing the law. However, that is a misreading of the text. To fulfill is to bring to completion like fulfilling an order. Once its filled the order is done and is done away with. When Jesus says, “do not think I came to abolish” he means that He did not come as some “kind of religious rebel, bent on discrediting, invalidating, and promoting contempt of Mosaic law” (Pope. 136). Jesus did not come as a religious anarchist bent on destroying everything. Instead he came not to “abolish but to fulfill.” Jesus’ life and ministry were the fulfillment of the whole of the old law (Hebrews 10:9-10).
Sorry but you can’t purchase food, that’s breaking the whole purpose because you’re putting someone else to work, therefore you contributing to them breaking it.

🧸Love it! My Sabbath usually consists of waking up late, around 8 or 9, and reading my Bible some before getting ready for church and going there. After church I might practice my instruments and do some work before Monday so I don't fall behind. I'll spend as much time with my family as possible, and I do my best to not do heavy physical activity like all the other days of the week so I can rest for God. I often get tempted to do a bunch of push-ups or do a quick run, but I remember that I devoted that day to the LORD, not me.
I’m trying to keep this short lol. Happy Sabbath (where I am!) and I love this! One thing I recommend is to not do any work on the sabbath. You mentioned doing work to keep up before Monday, but I wanted to offer this scripture from the Commandments: “Remember the sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it, you should not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your man servant, nor maidservant…” (Exodus 20:8-12). With that being said. If you’re really worried about not being caught up by Monday, give that request to God! And if you truly honor the Sabbath and give your time to Him, He will make a way that you will get your work done. I can attest to that because that’s what I’ve been doing since High school and college. trust me, you will see the benefit of not doing ANY work on the Sabbath! ☺️☺️ As a fellow sister in Christ, I don’t need to know who you are to know that I love you and look forward to seeing you in heaven.🙌🏾💖
Your doing well keep it up Jesus is in your heart. I strated just a few weeks ago and the only difference is I do is not go to any place that is open. Not where people work. You are not supposed to cook or buy or sell, no working unless you are helping someone because Jesus healed on the Sabbath also on the Sabbath you do none of your own pleasure. God bless!
There's a problem with how you choose to observe the Sabbath. You didnt/dont work that day but you go out to eat and rely on others working to serve you. Making people work/buying/selling is prohibited by God according to His Word. Exodus 20 :10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. Nehemiah 13:15-17 In those days I saw people in Judah treading wine presses on the Sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and loading donkeys with wine, grapes, figs, and all kinds of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day. And I warned them about the day on which they were selling provisions. Men of Tyre dwelt there also, who brought in fish and all kinds of goods, and sold them on the Sabbath to the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem. Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said to them, “What evil thing is this that you do, by which you profane the Sabbath day? We should be focused on Him and not ourselves. I see too much self and not enough God in this. Isaiah 58:13-14 “If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, From doing your pleasure on My holy day, And call the Sabbath a delight, The holy day of the LORD honorable, And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways, Nor finding your own pleasure, Nor speaking your own words, Then you shall delight yourself in the LORD; And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth, And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father. The mouth of the LORD has spoken.”
I held your same conviction strongly until recently when I had a conversation with someone who didn’t think that eating out on the Sabbath meant making others work. I think it’s definitely up to your conviction (anything done outside of faith is sin), but they explained that the people working at restaurants are already working and so you’re actually not responsible for them and so you’re not making them break the Sabbath by eating out. Anyways, just thought I’d add in my two cents. As I said, it’s dependant on your conviction. I’m still asking God for guidance on how to keep His Sabbath holy and how I can step into the blessing of rest and worship that it offers 🙏🏽🕊
@@Haynza Yes agreed whatever is not from faith is sin but thats with the underlying truth that our foundation is His word. His law convicts us. If he says dont lie, steal, murder, commit adultery, we cant go off and say well I have faith and believe that God wants me to go steal something so it's fine. Im not saying you believe that but that's the logic that is consistent with that. If we obey His laws without faith then it profits nothing because as Paul puts it in Romans.. Romans 9:31-32 but Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of righteousness. Why? Because they did not seek it by faith, but as it were, by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumbling stone. So yes I have that conviction based off of what His law says and its very clear. These people may be working already but going out and expecting them to serve us makes us just as guilty as they are but worse because we should know better. We shouldnt be involved with the rest of the world that is out working/profiting. Its encouraging them in their sin when we should be warning them. Ezekiel 33:8-9 “When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you shall surely die!’ and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand. “Nevertheless if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but you have delivered your soul. Apart from that if we arent supposed to buy or sell, then shopping, eating out or anything else is going against His law. And there's no way around it. That conviction you had previously was a good thing. Whoever it is that made you believe otherwise may have come from the enemy..intentional or not..if it has caused you to disobey our Lord. I really hope you can understand. I enjoy hearing about other believers that are actually keeping His Sabbath when so many reject it..its very sad. Focus on Him and His goodness. Meditate on Him and praise Him and cut off the world so you can really do that. Apart from fellowship with like minded believers that love Him the same.
@@amandasturgeon90 Dang you don't have to be so condescending. I'm still on a journey like all of us and I'm trying my best to work out my own salvation with fear and trembling. Who are you to say I've totally rejected that other comment? I've shared Andrea's conviction all my life until very recently. And as I mentioned, I'm still asking God for guidance on how to keep His Sabbath holy and am open to the Holy Spirit's conviction. So don't be so quick to judge. When Jesus said that we should be the salt of the Earth, He didn't mean be salty.
To disobey the Sabbath is punishable by death. Exodus 35:1-3 says: Moses assembled all the congregation of the people of Israel and said to them, “These are the things that the Lord has commanded you to do. Six days work shall be done, but on the seventh day, you shall have a Sabbath of solemn rest, holy to the Lord. Whoever does any work on it shall be put to death. You shall kindle no fire in all your dwelling places on the Sabbath day.” If we are to prescribe obedience to the Sabbath fully, we need to consider obedience to carrying out punishment to those who disobey.
Not sure why there are so many SDA in the comments but Sabbath doesn’t have to be on a Saturday, I have mine on Mondays. And it’s also not something thats mandatory to follow for believers. Jesus fulfilled the Law of keeping Sabbath, it’s simply a good restful practice/personal conviction.
Stephanie Shanahan I appreciate your sharing response. Yes you have some precepts of the sabbath. God's word clearly says that the sabbath is on the 7th day which is Saturday. Some christians have not gotten that conviction yet and that's important. Since sanctification is a process, the HOLY SPIRIT is the idriving force to lead us all to the truth You will receive that conviction if you keep studying and meditating on GOD's word regarding both what the O.T. and N.T. reveal about the sabbath Since you are striving for it, you will receive it. The bottom line is to keep the sabbath Holy like Jesus taught not the pharisee. Probably that would equal to especially the practices of the orthodox rabbical jews. They have 39 categories of restrictions not to do on the sabbath. The interesting thing is if you study the rabbitical restrictions keenly you'll see that someone their principles of the moral law actually of are biblical principles that should be lived out 365 days of the year. I personally have a Jewish background but not religious. I became a follower of Christ at 40 but 73 now.My sister is jewish and belongs to a conservative sect of Jewish. It seems she has lost some of the sabbath respect in her later years.. I was lead on a journey throughout the years slowly being navigated to sabbath worship in Christ. I finally came to a sabbath Christian community through God's providence. They are neither SDA or messianic jews.So stay on that journey till you get to the promised land so to speak. 🙂 I will pray for a smooth journey for you. Peace in Christ, Selah 🙏
Hi! I am from the Netherlands and the most christians here go to church every sunday. How do you think about the churh? (Sorry if my englisch is not that good)
Speaking from a Jewish perspective, no, you're not supposed to make fire or buy things. That said, many Jews do violate the one about buying things 😅 I really recommend avoiding it whenever possible. I know you're probably a Christian but if you want very in depth information on how to practice Shabbat look into Jewish sources because there's way more of them and we've been literally practicing it for thousands of years.
I myself am a seventh day adventist so this video really made my day. I recently found your channel and ive watched all your videos already. Your vids help me grow closer to God and has made a impact in my life. Thank you and PLEASE MAKE MORE VIDEOS!!💞
Why is the Sabbath observed on Saturday according to the Gregorian calendar, which was established much later, around 4321 years after the creation? Why isn't it aligned with the Creator's ruling based on Genesis 1:16?Why do we align the Creator's system of rest with a calendar system associated with the papacy, which has pagan origins?

John 17 3. Test Paul as a true apostle
@@kac0404 Romans 7 12.
I don't accept Paul as an apostle.
@@brenosantana1458 Just because you don't except it, does mean that Paul wasn't an Apostle. The Bible says he was.
Galatians 1:1
Paul, an apostle (not sent from men nor through the agency of man, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised Him from the dead),
Romans 1:1
Paul, a bond-servant of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,
1 Corinthians 1:1
Paul, called as an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
1 Timothy 2:7
For this I was appointed a preacher and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying) as a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.
I went from protestant to Seventh Day Adventist to Messianic Jewish aka Torah Observant Gentile
yay! its so nice to have someone in common! I
Yay I’m Torah observant too!
What denomination are you that does this? I identify with this a lot and I'm currently non denominational but I'm trying to figure it out lol

Thank you so much for this video! My family never practiced the Sabbath but I always felt a conviction too, just had no clue how to go about it. Starting tomorrow, i want to build a habit of stepping back after the week and checking in with God, allowing my body and soul to rest. Thank you! 🧸

Love this sooo much!! Thanks for this video. Just a quick Godly reminder, we aren’t supposed to cook, buy, sell, or work on the Sabbath.
Yehovah set the seventh day Sabbath as a day to set HIS people apart from the other nations and said that it would be a covenant between him and his people
“For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord BLESSED the Sabbath day and made it HOLY.”
Exodus 20:11 ESV
Some people may think that one can pick any day to be sabbath but I think that takes away from the holiness of the sabbath.
God bless ❤
Amen

Does it even matter? I'm pretty sure only Jewish people do it. Christians don't normally follow all these rules. This is why:
The Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath” (Matthew 12:8).
"Christ’s first coming did not abolish rest; it ushered in a deeper kind of rest than the Sabbath could ever offer.”
an amazing video! thank you about reminding us about the importance of rest and spending time with our Heavenly Father ❤️
i am so so glad you enjoyed the video 🤍

@sarah_Joseph I'm a sevy too😊
I'm a sevy too 😊
I don't know why anyone would mention this.
What is that?
🧸 I am super loving your videos, you are such an inspiring gal and I feel so much closer to God this week just because you help me put dreams into practice! Keep at this please, lots of love 💗
This is an awesome way to rest in the Lord!!! Not at all criticizing but I myself would have a pre made lunch with my dad. We are not to work and/or create work for others. Not even the stranger that lies within thy gates, meaning no one. This means restaurant staff as well, even if they don’t acknowledge the sabbath.

· When we read the New Testament, we see that there is not a single example of Christians keeping the Sabbath. Rather we find them observing Sunday, the first day of the week.
I am not an SDA, but I agree, the Sabbath is still important

Hey Ashley ! I’m confused which day is the sabbath I grew up thinking it was on a Sunday. My grandpa is a seven day Adventist and he always believed the sabbath is from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown
Amen he's right 👍🏼🙏🏼
He’s right. God said the sabbath is on the seventh day and the seventh is Saturday
The Catholic church changed it from Saturday to Sunday. They even own that fact. It is in fact, on Saturday
@@melissapoole8580 yeah Ik that. It can confuse Christians
After Jesus rose, I feel we were encouraged to celebrate Resurrection every Sunday thereafter!
I like the concept of Sat being a day of rest and reflection, and Sunday worship in community- and not frequent businesses!!!!!! I feel our lives and families could benefit from only necessities being open like the ER
I’m a single mom working 3 jobs but Sundays for me are a non negotiable
I’m inspired here though to dig deeper and see what I can do to get more recharges in. AS HE ALWAYS PROVIDES
Blessings to you all
Love you Ashley🧸
🧸 I love keeping a sabbath practice but slack on it all the time so this is so inspiring! Keep up your amazing channel :)
aw i’m so glad you are here. and i totally get it. there’s grace to try again 🤍
Yes girl ❤️I'm a Sabbath keeper too (SDA), love and more respect my sis
Me too!
so here's a story...one day this girl approach & said how beautiful the colour of my eyes and then ask my name. I replied 'Im Muslim' ...this girl after a long pause replied very sadly 'im jewish' look at me for bit longer then turn away and left whithout saying anything. ..."we both understood what just happened, but im glad to see her doing well and hope she's happy and that life is keeping her safe and well"
I’m sorry, I don’t get it

Lunar Sabbath. May God bless you
you're such a blessing to this community.
@@ashleyhetherington_There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.
@@ashleyhetherington_ jesus nailed the sabbath day to the cross, thats why he said i am lord over the sabbath, he is our rest we rest in him and not on a day.
i am a seventh day Adventist, so i can totally relate to the great feeling the day after. also great video!
im so glad this video helped!
the Sabbath is the BEST.
I’m going to start my first sabbath tomorrow wish me luck guys

The 4th commandment which tells us to REMEMBER to keep the sabbath day holy… it’s the only commandment that starts with the word “remember”, I think we should still obey His law even though it’s “old”. Why? Cause we love Him
@seed1751 THE MOSAIC COVENANT WAS TEMPORARY
This covenant was divine, good, and holy since it came from God.
Wonderful! I need to understand don’t you not take a shower?
i thought ur not allowed to cook on sabbath
Sorry but you can’t purchase food, that’s breaking the whole purpose because you’re putting someone else to work, therefore you contributing to them breaking it.

Is it bad to do school work? And in January, I have an exam on Saturday
I often get tempted to do a bunch of push-ups or do a quick run, but I remember that I devoted that day to the LORD, not me.
i love this sm 🤍
@@ashleyhetherington_ thanks!
As a fellow sister in Christ, I don’t need to know who you are to know that I love you and look forward to seeing you in heaven.🙌🏾💖
Your doing well keep it up Jesus is in your heart. I strated just a few weeks ago and the only difference is I do is not go to any place that is open. Not where people work. I do have a goldendoodle and she is 9months and Im 70yrs and she gets to have a lot of fun. She knows its the saboth. Peace Out and Love MMLZZZ
We are Messianic, and yes, Sabbath is such a delight!
Are you don´t go to the church in the morning like in Brazil?
hiiii! 🍯 my family just started keeping the sabbath!!! I feel like it’s so over-looked!!! And we all need rest
it literally is!!! i’m so glad you are starting to see your life transformed by it.
I sabbath on Sunday, just curious why Saturday for you?
You are not supposed to cook or buy or sell, no working unless you are helping someone because Jesus healed on the Sabbath also on the Sabbath you do none of your own pleasure. God bless!
🧸Love it!! God bless you in your journey!! Blessings. Are you an SDA?
There's a problem with how you choose to observe the Sabbath. You didnt/dont work that day but you go out to eat and rely on others working to serve you. Making people work/buying/selling is prohibited by God according to His Word.
Exodus 20 :10
but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.
Nehemiah 13:15-17
In those days I saw people in Judah treading wine presses on the Sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and loading donkeys with wine, grapes, figs, and all kinds of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day.
Isaiah 58:13-14
“If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath,
From doing your pleasure on My holy day,
And call the Sabbath a delight,
The holy day of the LORD honorable,
And shall honor Him, not doing your own ways,
Nor finding your own pleasure,
Nor speaking your own words,
Then you shall delight yourself in the LORD;
And I will cause you to ride on the high hills of the earth,
And feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father.
Romans 9:31-32
but Israel, pursuing the law of righteousness, has not attained to the law of righteousness.
Ezekiel 33:8-9
“When I say to the wicked, ‘O wicked man, you shall surely die!’ and you do not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood I will require at your hand.
@@Haynza eyes to see and ears to hear? Andrea clearly revealed the truth and you are choosing to reject it.
Friday sunset to Saturday sunset
Not sure why there are so many SDA in the comments but Sabbath doesn’t have to be on a Saturday, I have mine on Mondays. And it’s also not something thats mandatory to follow for believers. Jesus fulfilled the Law of keeping Sabbath, it’s simply a good restful practice/personal conviction.
very inspiring, thank you!
Can I do laundry on the sabbath or is that considered work ?
No, it is considered as working
🧸thank you for this video it is so nice and motivating to see other brothers and sisters living for Christ!
Sabbath starts Friday evening and ends on Saturday evening. When the sun goes down it starts a new day which is how God made the days in genesis.
(Sorry if my englisch is not that good)
Hello thank you for your video, I just wanted to ask are we allowed to turn fire on during sabbath and buy things ?
No we aren’t i don’t know why she did those thinhs
No.

Does ot matter if you celebrate sabbath on Saturday or sunday
Yes, because Yah said it was on the 7th day of the week, and Sunday is not the 7th day. We can't change the day to benefit our lifestyle.
Could some of you help me out here, does God expect us not to do physical work or does He mean that we can work but lay all of our burdens aside?
Remember to keep it holy . 🙏
