This is fantastic! Love your format. Nice and short with examples from the cast, who can't use it, and even how to set it up in training to practice it. Chef's kiss, my friend.
Just searched for "Shimmy Guide" today as I suck at shimmies and found your new tech. Very useful! After lp Vagabond I've been also doing jf.Elbow in the last days. Guess that counts as shimmy, too.
Because the opponent is delay teching, throws have a 5 frame startup so an optimal delay tech is teching on the last possible frame, in this case the 4th frame. If you were to throw immediately on defense, that's not a delay tech, you're just throwing at that point
@@ShinLadFGC Not quite how it works, because you don't need to tech a throw *before* the throw connects - according to the super combo wiki you can input a throw tech until the 9th frame *after* a throw connects. So there's basically a 14 frame window to specifically tech a throw. Due to the existence of frame traps / other things there is no obvious optimal frame to delayed throw tech.
not knocking you AT ALL here, but i'm really disliking this trend of bronze/silver players worrying about stuff like shimmies and whiff punishing and etc for this exact reason. i think we need to do a better job at setting people's expectations about the general skill level that certain techniques begin to become useful. i hate thinking about bronze players tearing their hair out learning all this kind of advanced stuff and feeling bad when they lose even though they're playing the "right" way
From my viewpoint I enjoy watching advanced tech from Apex and Valorant players and learning about it but I know i'll always be mid at those games. When I make content for newer players i'll try to make that point across that tech like this is valuable at higher levels but no so much for them at the moment
@@ShinLadFGC yeah I definitely feel you there. and it's really good for bronze players to be aware of stuff things that enhance the tournament viewing experience imo
LMAO imagine calling a crossup a shimmy. Also how can it be new if you can do something similar in other games like SFV or any fighting game that isn't an anime. + on block button/string into a cross up is not a shimmy, it's a throw bait. Shimmy is specifically walking back and forth to bait a throw.

Thx bro, appreciate it
Wanted to say your videos are really useful and succint. I hope this channel pops off.
TY! and me too
That's pretty good 👏🏻
Thanks! 😄
Today, in a new episode of "look at this cool technique Chun Li can't do" 😭😭
Down forward hk...
@@justpat255 Misses if too close and can be punish countered
Thank you, great work
thx mayne, appreciate it
Cant wait to implement this when Elena comes out!
That might be a long wait
really good info, keep uploading some more ! thanks
Thanks, will do!
Juri can do it against the entire cast, not just wide characters. She just uses jump short instead of jump forward.
Good to know
What's a jump short?
@@smugdarkly short is light kick.
Jab strong fierce
Short forward roundhouse
How do you feel about doing jump forward for shimmy's now?
I will def spam it against Manon cause she just cries against cross ups

Hell yeah
Yeah it does, good application
Think Cammy has a version of this, she needs to DR c.hp first to get into her max throw range then follow up with a jump short.
Good to know, i'll definitely check it out
Getting used to Honda showing up in the "Can't du" list
Good. He's a no skill cringe character
@@Gankstomper Amen
Honda can du lots of things though
amazing vid!! thank you very much!!
Glad you liked it!
It's crazy to me that he can still hit with a cross up while jumping from so close.
IKR, to whatever character you are talking about
Chun's d/f+HK will fulfill this purpose for her.
Fulfill deez
Nice
So nice
Chun li can't do it with her jump attack but she can do it using 3HK (Falling Crane)
Urite
why didnt this work in previous street fighters? because of the jump arch?
The hurtbox expands a lot more in this version, also not all street fighters even had throw whiff animations
Hilarious how 4 out of the 5 characters who can't do this at 1:24 are all characters I use 😢 (not a Cammy user)
RIP
Why set the dummy's reversal to a 6 frame delay?
normally you'd setup throw delay by 4f but since you are +2 you adjust it by 2 hence +6
... why would I normally set throw to 4f? Start from the beginning, lol. I have no idea what's going on.

@@cohenkarnell7799 thx for the info

Yessir
this doesnt work in bronze nobody is throw teching im just wasting meter
i mean someone in bronze would just be wasting meter
not me
Something to revisit then, this tech isn't going away anytime soon ;)
