It’s like things have come full circle for you .. growing up in that house and making memories with your family now years later you were able to save that exact house and recreate those memories again wrenching on cars in the front yard . I’m positive your uncle is very happy looking down on you randy
That Pioneer radio is awesome! Love those older dot matrix display radios so much. Nice music in there too, and I can confirm us headbangers do take care of our cars.
What a wonderful little car. It did everything to please it's new owner. I used to do this same thing. When I lived in California I would find cars abandoned in shopping center parking lots. Actually it's not the same since you buy from auctions, Anyway a lot of times they left the door unlocked or it was already broken into. I checked out the registration and contacted the owner. Many times they would offer me money to take the car off their hands. I found a 66 Mustang one time that was starting to get stripped at a Lumber City parking lot in Westlake Village California. It was missing a few engine parts but I paid 100 dollars for it. It needed a few things to get it running but I was able to drive at after about 150 dollars of parts I was able to buy in a wrecking yard. Another time I found a 76 Mercury Capri. All it needed was the main fuse and I ran that car all over Southern California. It drove great. I also found a 77 VW Scirocco with a 5 speed manual. I loved that car. So fun to drive and very peppy. I made some money on the cars I found. This was back in the Mid 80's when I was much younger and California was not so strict on their laws. Today you leave a car more then 24 hours they tow it. I live in Arizona now and still work on cars but just as a backyard mechanic for friends and myself. I love your channel. Keep up the good work.
Randy sir, you and Mike can easily fix 99% of the issues on this car without breaking the bank. You might even be able to bring the paint back with a good detail on it. I know the Probe very well and they were good cars when they came out. She’s definitely going to make it!!! 👍😁
I have almost the same car,in a 1994 model. Same color, but with a rear spoiler and a five speed stick shift. Bought it used in 96,with 30 k miles on it. Now has 248 k miles on it. Same timing belt never been changed. The most reliable car I have owned . Liked it so well I bought another one ,a red 94 GT in 2003. 5 speed as well. Both have been retired from service . The GT is parked in the garage next to my 97 T-bird . SE is parked under my carport under a car cover. Parked it in 2017 and it started after cranking about 10 seconds . Don't need either one of them anymore, but I keep them so they can be original survivor cars to show they existed.
I've always liked the look of the Probe (funny name😄) If the body is solid and the interior is in relatively good shape, she's definitely a keeper at that price...
I think there’s a small chance it will make it! Keep doing these videos with Mike really enjoy them! Mike is such a hoot! I’d drive that probe and work on it!
Absolutely love the road trip videos. I have zero doubts about her making it, if it were the GT with the 2.5 V6 I’d worry a little more-although I absolutely LOVED them with the 5spd. Spent many summers at the Ford Dealer doing the PDI’s on these new, so brings back tons of memories.
I remember Ford UK saying the new capri 2.8i was here. When we got the Anal Probe 2.5 24v. They forgot the wrong wheels drove. And then nobody bought them. Took me ages to buy one at 18yo in 98. They only came out in 94 here and in 4 years they'd virtually disappeared
You guys !!! Total score on that Probe. I can't believe almost everything works. Not even my '79 Pontiac that has been sitting for 6 years does the Brakelight switch or Heat even work 🙄😥but I'll get'er fixed by this weekend. I miss these Cold winter day projects with friends.
Great video Randy. You and Mike work so well together and are funny. I had a Probe as a rental car a couple of times, and found it decent, but not a lot spunk when merging onto the highway. So I'm looking forward to Part 2 to see how it goes for you.
Listen I work outside in a cold all the time at 44 years old and being in New York is cold up here but I enjoy your videos I learn a lot keep up the good work keep bringing the video I'll enjoy every one of them
Nice find Randy! I like underappreciated cars like this- cool and unique, but still usable and very affordable for the common person to buy and maintain. I think this car will make it back, it seems like a good runner and I'd think the timing belt likely would have broke by now if it was original. Looking forward to part 2, keep up the great work man!
I have a 1996 GT 5 speed that i bought brand new and i love the car just as much as when i ordered it I originally wanted the same Blue that the color of this car is but 1995 was the last year for it and i went to many dealers in California to see if a leftover 1995 was available, No luck and ordered a black one fully loaded and still to this day looks great inside out and been thinking of doing a video on owning the car for 26 years. please keep the Blue color of the car it looks great when the paint is new.
Car's gonna make it. Please do more videos on it, maybe make it a VERY low cost restoration job. Almost new second hand tires, custom headliner, rustoleum paintjob maybe?
The CD4E transmission used in the 1994-1997 Ford Probe was later unfortunately used in the Ford Escape. I own a 5 speed 1993 Probe GT, thankfully, but my V6 auto AWD Escape is currently down due to transmission failure. Great video!
The engine and transmission in this Probe are also used in the Mazda 626 LX. Had the Mazda and its transmission gave out after 135,000 miles. Researched this and was a common problem with both cars. Built on the same line at Flat Rock, Michigan.
My absolute favorite kind of videos. I had a 95 Probe GT with the 5 speed and Greddy exhaust. That thing was loud and it scooted. Bought it for $300 and the PS bracket broke, snapped the belt and overheated. Was a fun little car the short while I had it. I believe in this one though! I think you'll make it
I have faith in you and Mike fixing it when you 2 together oh yal can get it fixed it will make it keep these adventures coming love watching your videos
Randy you did it again my brother another one back on the road it’s just something so contagious about getting the old girls back running and with your magic your luck to always swoop in and find the easy fix I love it
I have 1993 GT and love it! It sat in a garage for almost 18 years and I bought it as-is put a new battery in and it started up no problem. It’s been a bit of a pain to find parts for though
Randy, you have the ability to see a diamond in the rough. A new set of tires on that Probe and the fact that it's cool outside. It will make it. Looking forward to the trip video to see if it does.
I'm a bit 50/50 with this, because I saw something on IG that happened, but that could be the same thing that you fixed in this video which was really simple. Also 34:57 Mike's reaction was hilarious! Had to replay that several times.
Times like that r the best buying a car and you think you know whats broken on it and than it actually is what you thought it was broken fixing it and it working again is such a rewarding feeling love it haha ceep up the cool videos Boyz !
WAO! It ia amazing!!!! I remember those cars, they were okay but rght now that car is better than before, check this out: 1) It is pad off 2) It runs 3) It has HEATER!! 4) It s 4 Cyl. 5) Transmission is great! 6) It has power steering 7) No one would steal it because how it looks LOL 8) The dash is nor cracked! I mean, I could continue mentioning and thats me from Florida, congrats Randy, you have an eagle eye for those cars :)
I'm sure you were right about the grommet breaking and it was sidelined by the owner who thought the transmission was gone. Relatively low miles so my bet is it will make it home. Great video as always. Thank you.
I like the Probe. When my 90 Dakota went in for some warranty repair, Central Cape Dodge (Yarmouth Massachusetts) had a new Probe 5 speed as a loaner. I really liked it.
Idk why, but I always thought that these cars came with the Ford Lima 2.3 and not a 2.0 Mazda engine, but that'd make sense considering the fact that the 2.5 V6 that was an option in these cars was also a Mazda engine. My first car was a 1990 Ford Festiva that not only had Mazda tags under the hood, but I also saw Kia tags as well...
Ford probe are very interesting cars. Really nice coupe’s. Yes. This car will run like a champ. The ford 4 cilinders have allways been really reliable.
I brought a 2002 Volkswagen Passat for $100 and she runs perfectly not to mention that she’s been dealer maintained all 21 years of her life at the Volkswagen dealer.
I think we are starting to see a good pattern. Don't blame us for liking the two of you doing the show as a pair. Now when you take Mike away something will be missing. And that something seems to work better than most of the cars. (lol) I laughed so hard at your "Probe", all around Terre Haute and we know what award you won because many of us have won the same award. (The Great Dickie Doo.) Cause I cant see what my Dickie Doo thanks to my Dunlap that Dun Lapped Over it. Thanks guys.
I had a '95 Probe SE I bought new at the dealer. The SE has the air dam in the front. Everywhere I went, even after the car was 25 years old it turned heads everywhere I went. Gas mileage was over 30mpg. The rear seats fold forward revealing the trunk, which is where I had sub woofers for the stereo. Custom speakers in the door panels, front and back. Then I retired, didn't drive it for a year, so I sold it to a kid for $1200, which was $300 over high book.
I have no doubt this car will make it. Everyone gets scared about timing belts. I had a car that had over 200,000 miles on it and never had the timing belt replaced. I drove it to the junkyard because the rust was insane and the car was no longer road worthy. I understand they should be replaced but, you'd be surprised at how many miles/years they can go before breaking. Just my opinion. Be safe guys, look forward to the next one.
Hi Randy and Mike, since I'm a South Australian Ford man. I have 💯 confidence that the Probe will make it. 👍. Keep up the good work from Dave in Australia.
great video fellas.....we even got these in the u.k. when they were new, back in the 90's, but i always thought the 2.5 v6 was the one to have, it just sounded so nice! (and it'll make it im sure :-) )
One positive is that Gasoline from 2011 is Way Better quality than today... It's probably better than If it sat since 2018 or so. Great Video Randy & Mike!!
I can't believe this trans is working😲, think she will make it. Can't wait for part 2. Whatever happens please don't leave it on the side of the road. Good luck guys👍
In 2001 I was 17. I bought a 93FPGT. I loved that car! Since my cus had one when I was 9, it had been my favorite car!! He had the blue manual one! We both had 93 gt. Mine was white and automatic wanna sell this SE!???! I’ll take it! U just gotta drive it down to Naples Fl
This would be OBD 1.5 Ford and GM were a lot of like. GM needed a Master TECH II scan tool and Ford used a Blue Oval Scan Tool 2.0. These probes had problems like the Chrysler Ultra drive 4 speed. i replaced a bunch of trans solenoids on these back in the 1990's. These Probe's and the Chrysler Ultra Drive 4 speed auto were famous for all for solenoids going bad if this had overdrive. These and the Ultra Driv4 speed also had linkage problems with the plastics degraded in 3 years. These and Chrysler were notorious for these tow problems. The solenoids were 125.00 for all four back then and change the fluid. People would always thanks their trans were bad we changed over 100 of these back in the 1990's. These solenoids needed changed every 35k to 60kmiles when fluid was changed.
Go for it!! You guys could also do stand up comedy, I haven’t laughed so much In awhile…. Great content, thank you both for entertaining us!! 😂 Safe travels!!
There may be a hidden port for OBD2 it came out years before 96 it just wasn't mandated until 96 my 94 Camry has three diagnostic ports and one of them is OBD2. That part was hidden the other two diagnostic ports were wide out in the open one under the hood one under the dash my OBD2 port was actually next to the fuse box behind a panel.
Had a 94 Thunderbird, obd2 under the dash on pass side by glovebox. Windows might be just a fuse? I would be most concerned about the CV axles... I wonder if a 15x20 garage might be in the future for working on cars at ARR HQ Annex
When I was a teen a lot of cars didn't have a/c. I bought a running, driving, had heat, passed inspection 1960 Impala for $50, and a 1965 Mustang 289, ran and drove with heat for $350. Yeah, I'm old
I just bought a 1990 thunderbird supercoupe 35th anniversary a couple months ago with 90k miles. The clear coat fade came out with a little bit of wet sanding and compound polish.
Creo que ese auto se puede salvar muy bien. Pero lo más es verlos a ustedes como equipo. Casi dan ganas de aparecer ahí con un café y donas y ponerse a trabajar y jugar con los autos .saludos de un argentino desde España
I got a 1997 base probe from a friend of the family for free...it has 70179 mile original miles rust in the usual spots but runs and drives like a champ and I have so many plans for her...small mods to make it last, re-paint and new rims but no engine mods I want to keep it stock
Oh she's gonna make it. That car is a great starting point. I wonder if their are parts available easily for something like that if someone wanted to get really detailed in a rebuild
One of our high school gym teachers had a silver Probe. She would always talk about how smoking is bad. One day, leaving school I saw her lighting up a Marlboro in her Probe🤣

I had too many cars when I was a teenager. I would leave on at the Topanga Plaza or Canoga Bowl over night. Things were very different back then.

Randy; they don’t make friends like Mike anymore… that’s your brother from another mother 💯 keep doing what you’re doing man.

Devon lake make it
Definitely we'll make it
Yes
Put a pin into it
It will make it
You two are a trip! That Probe will be a fun car to drive! I'd love to see it cleaned up! It does sound like it has a large vacuum leak though.
Great video Randy. You and Mike work so well together and are funny. I had a Probe as a rental car a couple of times, and found it decent, but not a lot spunk when merging onto the highway. So I'm looking forward to Part 2 to see how it goes for you.

My first car was a 1989 Ford probe GT 2.2L 5 speed turbo. Got it in 1997. I loved that car. They were basically a Mazda MX6.

Yeah, perfect rat car. Runs and drives, give the paint some sanding, roof rack......could be so pretty!

Randy you did it again my brother another one back on the road it’s just something so contagious about getting the old girls back running and with your magic your luck to always swoop in and find the easy fix I love it
That Pioneer stereo was the ISH when it came out. Everyone had one. Neat project. I always liked those cars.
I have 1993 GT and love it! It sat in a garage for almost 18 years and I bought it as-is put a new battery in and it started up no problem. It’s been a bit of a pain to find parts for though
Dang. This makes me so happy I love probes I used to have 96 gt. Loved it so much.
Randy, you have the ability to see a diamond in the rough. A new set of tires on that Probe and the fact that it's cool outside. It will make it. Looking forward to the trip video to see if it does.
Nice deal! Years ago I had a 1990 Escort thought I lost the trans but same issue with the linkage quick fix and off we went
Wow that blows me away because I was just at that gas station Wednesday night on my way home from dropping off some material! Small world !
I'm a bit 50/50 with this, because I saw something on IG that happened, but that could be the same thing that you fixed in this video which was really simple. Also 34:57 Mike's reaction was hilarious! Had to replay that several times.

The Ford Probe is a nice car. I wondered what the rust situation was on it. Good find & an easy fix.
That's what took out the 1st gen I owned. Eventually the tin worm got into it and it was over. It was actually a good car to drive.
I knew you and Mike could get it going sounds pretty good the motor doesn't even Shake
I remember when these Probes hit the market. I never owned one but did rent a few. Fun little car.
Yessss!!! I've been eager to watch this video!!! Loving the old stories from your youth man!
Good for you that you got the Probe rolling! And I believe it will make it. Good luck, Randy!
I'm sure you were right about the grommet breaking and it was sidelined by the owner who thought the transmission was gone. Relatively low miles so my bet is it will make it home. Great video as always. Thank you.
Randy Thanks For Another Good And Entertaining Video & Monkey Wrench Mike Thanks For Helping Randy When He Needs It
I like this car. Rough on the outside but not bad at all on a technical point of view.
I like the Probe. When my 90 Dakota went in for some warranty repair, Central Cape Dodge (Yarmouth Massachusetts) had a new Probe 5 speed as a loaner. I really liked it.
This is fantastic inlove this
She’s gonna make it, let’s get this show on the road!!!
I had one of those in the same colour over here in the UK. Loved it!
You 2 are so funny together. Love you guys
I am loving the ford probe content do fix it and drive it and show it the love it deserves
Awesome video randy, glad to see the ford probe on the road
Ford probe are very interesting cars. Really nice coupe’s. Yes. This car will run like a champ.
The ford 4 cilinders have allways been really reliable.
I love your road trips with Mike. I live the road trip vicariously through you guys
Good luck with the probe hope you can drive home hope you both are doing great see y'all soon buddy
I had faith that it would RUN! It will make it! Go Randy and Mike!
The house looks great. To make it more interesting you need to tow that trailer back with the Probe.
I brought a 2002 Volkswagen Passat for $100 and she runs perfectly not to mention that she’s been dealer maintained all 21 years of her life at the Volkswagen dealer.
Unfortunately our Volkswagen dealer just closed up after 50 years in operation a couple weeks ago here in Upper Michigan 😮😢
I think we are starting to see a good pattern. Don't blame us for liking the two of you doing the show as a pair. Now when you take Mike away something will be missing. And that something seems to work better than most of the cars. Cause I cant see what my Dickie Doo thanks to my Dunlap that Dun Lapped Over it. Thanks guys.
I absolutely love mike's laugh in this video lol. Im pumped to see what the journey has for them lol
You received a round of applause from Southern Indiana on your first shift. Really enjoyed the video.
G'mornin' Mike & Randy ☕☕☕ 😇 . I love the probe & I've been looking for one myself and I have no doubt it'll make it to okc
If you get the transmission working, it WILL make it.
This is one of my fav cars form the pass I no people that have put more than 350000 miles on theirs there great cars
Old Probes die hard🤣Good luck, guys, travel graces.
I have no doubt this car will make it. Everyone gets scared about timing belts. I had a car that had over 200,000 miles on it and never had the timing belt replaced. Awesome! My ex-girlfriend had a 95 Ford Probe XE in white....it was a nice one and I kind of miss that car. Love watching your videos.
I was at the plant where that car was born in 1995. And our rental car was a Mazda 626, which was born at the same plant.
My uncle had a black one 5 speed really good cars
I can't believe this trans is working😲, think she will make it. Can't wait for part 2. Whatever happens please don't leave it on the side of the road. Good luck guys👍
Boy that Mike has skills!! He’s quick as a cat and the reflexes of a mongoose!! Lol 😂👍✌️
I had a brand new "92 and these cars always look current to me... no matter it's condition.
Imma be honest ever since you made the first video when you found it at the auction, I’ve been hooked on them ever since, I now want one
I had 2 probes 89 and a 93 I think . It was a long time ago. I flipped both of them for profit. They never got the love they deserved.
That Waynes World impression when that heavy metal came on was hilarious.
I am so loving that car! Hope you DO NOT leave it on the side of the road! I hope you make it to OK.
I have been waiting for this, had to comment before watching! About to stream it now on the 85in!!!
That hood scared the crap out of Mike 😂😂 I can't wait to see the next video.
Still got mine ❤
When I was a teen a lot of cars didn't have a/c. I bought a running, driving, had heat, passed inspection 1960 Impala for $50, and a 1965 Mustang 289, ran and drove with heat for $350. Yeah, I'm old
I just bought a 1990 thunderbird supercoupe 35th anniversary a couple months ago with 90k miles. The clear coat fade came out with a little bit of wet sanding and compound polish.
First good morning randy how are you hope your day is good you made my day better by posting love your videos watch them every day ❤
Creo que ese auto se puede salvar muy bien. Pero lo más es verlos a ustedes como equipo. Casi dan ganas de aparecer ahí con un café y donas y ponerse a trabajar y jugar con los autos .saludos de un argentino desde España
Cars love to break down in the winter ❄️
Everybody needs a friend like Mike

She's going to make it. And you two are just brilliant together.
That Probe is more archeological dig than fix......love it
I got a 1997 base probe from a friend of the family for free...it has 70179 mile original miles rust in the usual spots but runs and drives like a champ and I have so many plans for her...small mods to make it last, re-paint and new rims but no engine mods I want to keep it stock
Oh she's gonna make it. That car is a great starting point. I wonder if their are parts available easily for something like that if someone wanted to get really detailed in a rebuild
Yes!! Love the Probe! Glad to see her being saved 😊
One of our high school gym teachers had a silver Probe. She would always talk about how smoking is bad. One day, leaving school I saw her lighting up a Marlboro in her Probe🤣
