"There’s something weird about going on a road trip, the second you lock the door and head out, you’re in a different mindset, everything you see is different, the way you perceive the world is a bit different, even the most meaningless things can turn into a crazy story. Why can’t life be like a road trip? Why can’t we live in a state of mind where everything is fun and adventurous, and the world continually surprises us, and we let that happiness flow in?
There’s something powerful that allows you to release your tight grip on life, and just relax. Staying present and enjoying everything that enters your experience, taking in each moment separately, and giving unlimited potential for each situation to flourish into a unique adventure.
The funny thing is, sometimes it’s something like getting a flat tire, or an unfortunate trip to the hospital, or getting completely lost in the middle of the night, that makes the adventure special and unforgettable. Because after all it isn’t the destination that you’re seeking… it’s the journey. And on that journey you learn and you let go, you see and you feel things differently, and your mindset, your attitude, your actions, are all driven by a place in your soul that is simple, young, happy, and free.
You don’t know where your decisions come from, yet they just feel right. Unlike the “important” decisions back home which require you to take in all the right information, and critically make sure you’re doing the right thing. While on a road trip, you detach from that process completely, the need to be perfect, the need to be right, the need to look or act a certain way, you just let go... and it’s in this mindset of bliss and freedom, that you are truly present and happy. Getting lost, and finding yourself.
Something that a lot of people don’t let themselves do, and they wake up one day looking back on their life's memories in search of the things they can define themselves by. The moments where they felt truly alive and free. Don’t let that be you. Create a life that lets you drop the stress and baggage you carry, change your mindset, go on adventure, and let happiness flow into your life… you can always start with a road trip."

I'm going to be honest, I'm going on an over 24 hour road trip with my mother so she can see her father (my grandpa) whom she hasn't seen for 30 years... I was pretty nervous because were leaving first thing in the morning.. this video helped me chill out a little. Thank you

@@AmericanWireman I'm Sorry for your loss, and I'm glad you got to meet him or see him one last time. Road trips are typically core memories with highs and lows, they're kinda like puppies, lol you want them, and they're fantastic, but they also poop and destroy things; it's a package deal.

so true! After I graduated from school I went backpacking for 3 months in Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Argentina, Bolivia and Peru and never felt so alive, so present, so at peace with myself and everything around me, so happy. Traveling makes you so so happy

Totally agree. 12 years in a band in my youth touring the U.S. and Europe. Haven't lived like that in years, but my wife and I are now starting a vlog which is encouraging us to go for more adventure!

Every single word went straight to my heart. But, sometimes, I wonder, "Would I ever find friends like these - who would go to places this way? - who would allow themselves to get lost? - who would enjoy life as the sole purpose of life is to enjoy it. Maybe I have. If not, what's the harm in going out alone? Who knows - I might meet some more ppl of this kind during these adventures and befriend a random stranger in the middle of nowhere. Keep inspiring ppl this way guys!

This video made me choked up. I realized that I don't really know myself and I am in a situation trying to conform to the norm. I realized that I am afraid to be alone, even though I am alone, but I see that I can have adventures with myself and love life. I don't need the approval of someone else. It's my life, I'm going to enjoy it. I'm going to be free. I don't care if others hate me for living.

I remember when I was teenager/college student and not having more worries than paying for my next 6 pack. You get older your extended family starts having health issues, you have children, your in the midst of defining your career...

Iv traveled the globe and experienced many things: War, love, famine, wealth, conflict, greed, true bonding, random love making. I lived a life which was described to be "What many men dream of" or "I live vicariously through you". Well, here I am. 33 years old going on 60. I am at rock bottom. I know now that for me, adventures are nothing without someone you love. I look at my international memorabilia, my awards, my medals, my achievements, they hold little weight as I get older.
My biggest most amazing adventure will be to find that special someone and wake up to her every morning, no matter what part of the planet we are in.

I'm a huge fan of your videos, they get my friends and I pumped. I recently did a road trip from New York to San Diego and back to Washington DC, which was a crazy adventure for 4 English lads but, watching this video makes me want to do the whole thing again but not in a 1994 toyota corolla and some thing similar to yours! this summer im going on a road trip for a couple of weeks!!! I can't wait. Watching this video makes me think of my dad. He constantly works and seemingly unhappy. He may look back on his life and wish he did more unfortunately.

I just went on a spontaneous road trip with my son to Florida. Couldn't sleep so I called in to work, and said screw it ive never seen the ocean before so let's go! And it was the most amazing thing I've ever done in my life! No worries, no stress, most amazing experience. Just me and my baby. It takes a lot for u to get the courage to do it but Ull be so glad u did! I'm thinking of just traveling from now on. So much of the world to see before u die, and I don't want to miss it.
