How to add Green Screen effect inside Instagram Reels

Instagram Reels has a green screen effect filter that automatically removes the background.
Similar to the Instagram Story green screen filter, this filter allows you to put any image as a custom background too. Your background can be a photo or even a video.
In this video, I'll show you how to use the official green screen filter from Instagram inside of Instagram reels.
Besides the official Instagram green screen filter, you can also try user-generated green screen filters that help you get the same result.

Thank you for this! I have a question though: is there a way to do an appearance effect on top of the green screen effect? For example, if I'm shooting a marketing video and want to use the green screen, but I'd also like to use a certain makeup filter to clean up my appearance, how would I layer those two filters? I tried your tips with the green screen and got that working, but when I went to preview to add the second effect, I couldn't browse the effects like when I found the green screen. The effects on the preview page were limited, so I couldn't search for a professional looking makeup filter. When that didn't work, I clicked back to the editing page where I applied the green screen and tried to apply the makeup filter on top of the green screen and couldn't find any option to do so. The appearance effect just kept replacing the green screen. Is this something that can be done on IG to search for and add an effect on top of the green screen?
Seriously though, thank you for this video. I should be much better at social media at my age, but it's so challenging sometimes!

The edging on IG green screen is just terrible. Better to use an actual video editor where you can adjust the keying until Instagram provides those controls
