    Previously at Total Pro Sports, we did a video on 10 NFL wide receivers who owe their entire careers to a specific quarterback. Essentially, that wideout would have been an average Joe or a nobody without the luxury of playing with an all-time great signal-caller.
    Well, we’re going to give receivers the extra love for this list. With that said, here are 10 NFL quarterbacks who whole all of their career success to one specific wide receiver.
    Don’t forget to subscribe to TPS and make sure you hit the bell and turn on our notifications and join the notification squad.

    Jake Delhomme had his best year WITHOUT Steve Smith. Steve broke his leg in week 1. Jake had almost 30 TD passes and was a blocked field goal from winning the division.

    Matt Ryan had more wins through his first 5 seasons than every other QB to play the game. More than Brady, Manning, Marino, Mahomes, Montana, Farve, Etc.
    He only had Julio for 29 of those 80 games, and Jones only had a little over 2k yards in that span. Just saying.

    Joe Flacco would not have been successful without Anquon Boldin. Ever since Boldin left to San Fran, Flacco has been downhill from there. He only bounced back with an aging Steve Smith for a brief period.

      Dude, that playoff run was the craziest crap I’ve ever seen. Flacco would get pressured and throw the dumbest passes you’ve ever seen and you’d think it was over, but Anquan would come out of nowhere and snag it. Then Flacco got paid and Anquan got sent packing

    • @rjpd_2001
      @rjpd_2001 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agreed, but Derek Mason and Torrey Smith both had better seasons than the best season Boldin had under Flacco. Mason had 2 1000 yard seasons with Flacco, and over 800 when Mason and Boldin were together in Baltimore. Boldin only had 35 more yards that season. But Torrey Smith is the only WR to eclipse 1100 yards with Flacco. Boldin never got over 925 in Baltimore.

    There's no question Young relied heavily on Rice, but it's pretty silly to act like the only difference between the Buccaneers and the 49ers at that time was Rice. Learning behind Montana AND having Bill Walsh set all three up to succeed were both huge factors. And yes, Young was primarily a starter under Seifert, not Walsh, but Walsh really gave him second lease on life as a backup. The Bucs squandered everyone's talent back then.

    I mean as a QB, don’t you need good receivers to be successful? Sure, there are QB’s who had great careers with WR’s who were average at best, but guys like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Joe Montana, Steve Young, John Elway, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger, Drew Brees, and more, had great receivers throughout a lot of their careers. At the end of the day, if you’re a QB and you don’t have great oline protection or good WR’s, you won’t have the best success in the NFL.

      Schaub barely played with Hopkins. He was benched midway through the 2013 season and they went 2-14 in Hopkins' rookie year. The next season, Schaub was gone so he only played with Hopkins for half a season, if that.
      His best years were throwing to Andre Johnson. That's why it's not unfair at all that Johnson is mentioned with Schaub and not Hopkins because there just isn't enough playing time with Schaub and Hopkins to justify it.
      Schaub's best years were him throwing to Andre Johnson before Hopkins got there so saying that Schaub owes his career to Johnson and not Hopkins is just simple fact and not unfair in the slightest.

    Culpeppers 04 season was basically played without Moss and if not for Peyton breaking the TD record he would've won MVP. If not for his knee injuries he would've continued to be an above average QB. Moss clearly had a huge impact, but the Culpeppers slander is trash.

    It’s a crime you have Young on here. The dude was a first overall pick for a reason. The issue was he played for the bucs in the 80s, not that he didn’t have Rice. Yes, having Rice helped, but he isn’t he sole reason Young won an MVP & Super Bowl. The talent was always there, he just needed a proper shot. The Bucs also messed up Vinny Testaverde and he eventually came good with the Jets & didn’t have rice to help him. Looks like it was more the Bucs than anything else.

  • @nujeru99
    @nujeru99 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Umm Culpepper's best season (2004) was played mostly without Moss, as he was out with a hamstring injury. Dante lit the league up for 4717 yards and 39 TDs. The leading WR that year?? TE Jermaine Wiggins. Also, Mark Brunell led the Redskins to the playoffs in '05. Saying he "never threw for 4k yards in Jacksonville" is deceiving, as QBs rarely threw for 4k yards back then. He and Dante don't belong on the list

    Oddly enough, Brady owns the back half of his career to Randy Moss as well. That 07 season scared the league into playing soft zone coverages (especially late in games) for the rest of his career despite the fact that after his injury in 08, his deep ball accuracy was never good again, not that it was great to begin with.

      Brady never had a true deep threat until Moss and had one of the highest completion percentage on balls 40+ yards then the one year he had Brandon Cooks, his only other legit deep threat once again he led the league in deep ball% and had the most completions over 40 yards, and then in Tampa he played in a more vertical passing system and was one of the best deep ball throwers if anything Moss owes his resurgence to Brady in his 3 years prior to '07 he had 47 grabs for 730+ yards, then 60 for 1,005 then 43 for 543 teams with Brady and 98 for 1,493 and 23 TDs then the next year with Cassel only 69 for 1,008 before one last good year with Brady 83 for 1,264 and 13 TDs

    This is ridiculous. Quarterbacks owe their careers to coaches on occasion but never to a receiver, with one exception. Randy Moss. He was such an athletic freak that he did carry Culpepper and Brady. Tom had only one season as the best quarterback in the league which was 2007 with Moss and only one season as the number 2 quarterback in the league. In the "REAL GOAT" scoring system Brady adds over 50 points to his career score in that one season, which is approximately 1/11 of his overall score. No quarterback has ever had that great an influence in one season in regards to his entire career. Until that season Brady was just slightly above average.
