- These are the 10 things I hate the most in Forza Horizon 5 game. in FH5 I usually drift with a steering wheel and couple of things annoy me. Keep in mind I do Love Forza Horizon 5 and will continue to play the game. Starting with the headlights, I've always wanted to know how to permanently toggle the headlights ON for example. Turns out you can't do that in Forza. Some of these features will hopefully be implemented into the game. Let me know what you would like to see changed and fixed in Forza Horizon 5.

Honestly, I absolutely love the amount of smoke. It adds a lot to the game, especially as a drifter. That's one thing that always bothered me about Horizon 4, the tiny amount of smoke. It looked so stupid
Drift Open without being able to see the road is definitely it's own form of fun

@@user-pt8oo6pw9n You and OP are pretty wrong for different reasons.
Tiny amount of smoke is pretty realistic, lower wheel speed = less friction = less smoke
To counter that, higher wheel speed = more friction = more smoke
The problem with FH4 and FH5 is that the cars didn't generate smoke based on wheel speed, its more so you get a set value after drifting at any speed for 3 seconds.
And it was thin I like the thick smoke

Actually I want more smoke and dirt particles….Especially when you’re rally racing on dirt roads . I know it would be hard to see but I think that would make a little more realistic

In my opinion, the smoke is way too thin still.
One thing I hate is the blinding effect when going into and coming out of tunnels. Sure, it's supposed to simulate camera overexposure, but they could tone down the effect a bit so it doesn't turn into a pileup at the end of half of the tunnels in online racing.

Yes and there’s that one tunnel that about 10 yards after exiting the road turns sharply, I haven’t been able to keep from flying off the road because of the lighting lmao

also whenever you face the sun, so you could be going up a hill in the hood cam and all of a sudden it’s dark and you have no idea what’s going on
The drift zones scoring system is different than the one before december 3rd of 2021.
If your friend has done an ok score previous to the 3rd December 2021, their score is very likely, UNBEATABLE.

@@kyokuslaps2411 yes, the update in late December i think remade the point multiplier for some reason, you now get approximately 20% less points than before the update. and it would all be fixed if THEY JUST RESET THE LEADERBOARDS smh

the biggest issue in my opinion is the force feedback. it's just...weird, because if you do small turns you have zero force feedback and if you turn a bit too much the force feedback randomly kicks in. so eventhough i quite like fh5 i gotta stick to beamng and assetto.

@@7jessicl well i'm using a t150 (which works perfectly fine, which i know because i opened it recently) and i have no problems with assetto or beam so...
Edit: and 2 of my friends with a t150 and a friend with a t300 have the same issues

Personally i love the ffb of fh5, it's one of the best imo
I'd love to see the ability to host a private game where you can change all the settings including time, weather, traffic etc. and invite people to your world if you want

8:20 Horizon 4 had 2 drift stories (One in base game and one in fortune island) and they were my absolute favorite ones. That story is the reason I like to drift because that is where I learned. Before that I could not care less about drifting. They need to add a drift story mode again.
The drift stories were the worst story
I think my biggest pet peeve is always, and I mean ALWAYS, facing the opposite way I want to drive when I spawn off a fast travel. The only directional spawn is the highway, or near a dead-end.
If you set a waypoint in the direction you want to drive it faces you towards the waypoint

I wish they could move the rims and aeros to appearance part, or somehow separate them. So I don't need to sacrifice the appearance for performance. The hypercars have nasty wings but I have to replace them with weird looking FH wings to get more down force. That's pain.

You can select time & season in races by creating a custom race but for in free roam.
Regarding RWD drift: They should simply have more filters in the high scores.. I would like to see car classes, brand/model, wheel types and drive train (for all high scores)
totaly agree, a normal drift car can't compete against those icy drift op builds, that i hate, i just wanna habe fun with something more realistic and get points with it.

-I want to see a server chat feature.
-More options for clubs that drive engagement.
-Better creative tools. From event lab to painting and decal editing. They should look at how Rockstar or even Trackmania did their editor. They should look at CarX for painting and decals. This should include placing decals on windows and choosing the decal material/finish.
-A system that accredits any creative work anybody has done to a livery or tune and being able to share your version of it. And no, this doesn't have to mean it would be abused when done right.
-More customization options across the board. Let's start with head and tail light options for most cars. Exhaust options. More exterior options for more cars, just make it up if you have to. Body-panel removal options. Interior style and color options. This can all be pretty generic, yet provides so much more variety.
-A better system to prevent cheating. Including a better system for reporting.
-Some way to invite others to your garage like in GTA5.
-etc.-etc. I love this game, but it could be so fucking much more than what it is.
That new game engine they are working on better be a lot more modular in terms of coding, because thats the excuse they've been using for a lot of things not getting implemented.
They could possibly call their next title FHX, as a live service, but instead of all these other companies attempting this, they could make it not be driven by MTX. A yearly pass would be fine though. I'm happy to pay 30-50euro a year if that means constant features and content updates.
For the topic 9, if you lower the graphic options of the particles, the density of the smoke will lower too
I'd love shifting animations, like in Horizon 4 where the paddles move when shifting, gearsticks that stay in the correct gear position and also car interior setup where we can fiddle around with the dashboard, set speedometer display like changing KMH to MPH and activating satnav

Jokes aside, great video. I personally play FH5 for the exploration and photography and FH5 absolutely nails that. Still my favorite series of all time, and FH5 is my favorite now.

The thing that annoys me is when you are drifting in interior there is no tyre smoke in you mirrors.
2:45 This also is prominent in the crew series, sometimes when your in a chase, you suddenly go from day to night or night to day as the game I guess puts you in a different lobby
I wish they added a button to toggle Traction Control and ABS Instead of having to change it in the difficulty settings, similar to how it is in Asseto Corsa
Love how when the game came out everyone was loving the smoke, now it seems to be an issue

I totally agree with the list, some things were taken from 4 and others I don't, understand why, it was weird but right...
Leaderboards for sure. I'd love to see separation by car class: speed traps, speed zones, danger zones are all very different based on your car class.
One thing I never understood is how in FH3 when you hit the E brake button, your characters hand actually goes on the e brake in the car. They didn’t do that in fh4 or this one. It annoys me because I used to ENJOY just pressing the e brake, just to watch the hand move. It fascinated me.
Also, in FH3, we could rolling anti-lag. These past two games, we haven’t had it. It was fun hearing the engine rev as fast as it could before a take off. I miss that a lot
Another thing, along with the day time cycles. Point 1: the night time cycle is so SHORT. It feels like 30 seconds. I take pictures of cars at night because I specialize in it and can get the most realistic pictures out of it. But, I can only ever get ONE picture of ONE car a night
You may be asking “why one picture a night?” Right? Well, in Promo, the DAY TIME CYCLE CONTINUES IN THE PROMO ITSELF. I really do hope they fix that. It irks me knowing that if I have the right angle, the perfect lighting, it could all be taken away because the focus button makes the night time cycle update. It really pisses me off sometimes. They should bring back the way it was previously. Or just remake it
I have the tss sparco same has the video on xbox and the game dont even recognize hit…. Pretty bad game with a wheel anyway for me.
Dirt 2.0,acc competizion and f1 are better with wheel
1. Even on stock cars, the exhaust shoots a good 1-foot flame
2. Turbo sounds are obnoxious... Even if you barely blip the throttle, the blowoff sounds like it was at max boost
3. There's no ability to disable traffic
4. There should be more sorting options for cars (ie. Drivetrain, Displacement, Cylinder Count, Forced Induction Types)
I agree with 3 and 4 but to add to 4, I'd prefer sorting based on what I built and tuned the car for. Like a "add to favorites" but separated into, let's say, drift, drag, rally, street, ect...
I would love the ability to disable traffic! The turbo sounds are mighty overkill too. I definitely agree. On my sesto FE, if I just gingerly, ever so lightly, touch the throttle it makes a Tokyo drift noise. I barely even go up 300 RPM.
Can’t help but cringe every time I hear the turbo make the “stu stu stu” sound.

Hope the devs fix this (hopelessly hopeless though). I also want to add more new Audi, Porsche, etc.

It's not hopeless, it will simply take a while 'till they've done something, cos they will, like they have been this first months from the game's release.

Definitely one of my biggest issues with the game is the pop up headlights. I love cars with pop ups, and sometimes I just like to cruise around, and I like to see those headlights up. But can't really do that in the day. I've always wished for an option to turn headlights on and off, which cars with pop ups, that would make it to were you can open and close the headlights.
Overall a pretty small issue, but it's important to me.

I think this is something they should really add in. After all, in some countries it is actually required to have your headlights turned on at any time when driving ^_^ More over, it won't take too much time to add this little feature in, if it is for a new game. It's understandable that they most likely won't change it in FH5, since as shown, it is currently linked to the camera's light exposure. Having to change out that coding could take quite some time depending on how it was done. But they should def add it in the new FH game!

if u dont want much smoke you can go on the graphics settings and go to the last option about the particles and put it on low on that option there is way less smoke

The biggest thing for me would be, if you've finished a race in story mode, just get rid of it from the MAP, it could stay there on the road but not visible on your map, maybe a toggle to show them or not..this is my first time playing Horizon and all the icons are so overwhelming and way too much, it is absolutely disturbing and honestly almost quit the game because of this, it doesn't feel I'm progressing.

i quite like the closing of headlights in the day, especially that it has an animation, it's a very cool little feature
sometimes i feel like goosiest is just making daily uploads to keep his streak and just getting it to 8 mins and call it a day but this video really felt like it had time and effort put into it actually ranking everything and such, good vid overall, ty

About the headlights. I don't see anything wrong with them not being able to be manually controlled, but what would you use the headlights for in places with light? I think it makes sense they close in light places, and they open in dark places so dark places can be illuminated. But, hey, I respect your opinion on the headlights.
Edit: Imma agree with you on the steering wheel. It should definitely go 900 degrees, not a measly 90.
In many countries you must have your headlights turned on(either the regular headlights or so called dayrunning lights) during the day for safety measures so at least for me it's weird in games when they automatically turn of the lights during daytime.

@@hvcky safety measures. It's easy to mistake a moving car with a parked car if you only look at a certain direction for a split second if the headlights are turned off. And also, why would you waste the battery if you have the lights on? Do you own a car in real life or are you accustomed with them through videogames? There's this thing called an alternator, which charges the battery when the engine is running.

They did have custom server lobbies in the original Forza Horizon. it had all of the custom options to change the weather, time off day, and even car class /upgrade restrictions. It's my biggest frustration because no other Horizon title or any other racing game has delivered that type of online experience. It provided amazing and almost endless entertainment.

When your drifting a looong turn, the ultimate drift stops accumulating... But you can drive down the highway and get multiple ultimate speeds... 🤦♂️. Fix the drift points please
It's because it wants you to chain it not just sit there doing a donut getting ultimate drift skills.

@@chrisaguilar4139 I can't remember what game it was but there was one I played where you could get near infinite score if you sat there doing a donut. Makes it hard for people trying to do it legitimately if it's a leaderboard style event or it can be used as an exploit to get near infinite skill points.

Maybe if there was a way it could tell if you were just doing donuts or going around a roundabout multiple times it would stop, but stopping halfway thru a corner is frustrating lol. Having to adjust mid turn to start accumulating again is lame.
The reason some body kits and cars aren’t in the game is because the Forza team didn’t get approval from the companies and people to use the cars
There used to be drag lights on the festival drag strip. If you watch the main menu video you will see the drag lights. You can also see them in AR12s early access let’s play.
I have a little background in developing games, and I think the reason that the steering wheel doesn't line up is because it still only outputs a decimal value between -1 and 1 just like a controller would so even if you crank the wheel to the max it won't ever output a value larger than a controller would otherwise the wheels would just keep turning around and around.
nah otherwise it would just turn the steering wheel slowly (in game)
ETS2 has a setting for Wheel or Joystick, it defaults to wheel, and in that mode, a small nudge on the thumbstick makes your car turn 90° or more, so yeah. And since it's an analog value, the game just treats everything above a threshold as that threshold value. Or maybe the controler I use does, it's a cheap non-name brand
There is also another thing that I would like to mention
When a car starts moving in the game the wheels suddenly kind of change rather that gradually rotate fast I have noticed this in jackultragamer's video
As someone who uses a lot of cars with pop ups I wish I could have them up all the time. And the smoke makes drifting anywhere near another person just super annoying
Just turn down your settings for the right one and smoke goes away all together if you want
at 0:30 try using the horn, in the crew 2 if u use the horn pop-up head lights open
I love doing online races, but i like the road racing series in S1, A class & B class but you can’t sort by class or race type so I’m constantly thrown in to dirt/cross country races which I don’t enjoy. I wish they could add a filter for this in the near future.
It’s funny how everybody wanted realistic smoke, but then they complain about the realistic smoke… 😂 like wtf? Get better.
Personally the smoke is really helpful for taking photos of tandems
In photo mode, the smoke appears to be of low quality and glitched which makes it impossible to get a good pic within the smoke even in ultra quality
One thing I dislike about FH5 is just the sheer amount of seasonal challenges relying on drifting...
I can't drift, I don't want to drift but I basically have to if I want to get the points for the seasonal car...
I like to just full-send my car through a rally stage, I literally skip all drifting stuff.
At least they added the limo (and some of the bodykits - very useful for remaking a rally MX5 I had n 4) back.
I only mind the weather and time of day for Photomode, I think you should be able to temporarily change those there, like in The Crew.
On the drift leaderboards, I never noticed an issue with that, and have mostly stomped my friendlist using RWD but I think most of my friends also used RWD.
Tip: if you want to compete with AWD using RWD tune the differential to 100% to rear tires so you have RWD with an AWD car
It won't be RWD by changing the diff no matter what you do. Otherwise it's pointless changing drivetrains in the first place.
@Ruthless 1 I commented this so that if you want to compete with AWD in the game’s current status in a RWD car, you can tune the diff to 100% rear wheels so you get the handling of RWD with the point bonus of AWD

Awd and 2wd should be separated in races in general, especially in rivals and ranked
Drift zones have always been wonky. If I do a run with nice long drifts at high speed, then do a run where I basically fishtail back & forth at low speed like a drunk driver, the latter will always get me a higher drift score. It needs to calculate speed when giving drift points.
An option to reduce smoke effects would be a simple and effective fix
The reason they probably removed the drag lights was because it wasn't synced to everyone and half the time no one would use them and everyone would do a countdown

I would just really love Tokyo as a city in the worldmap with awsome touge and stuff.
Not only it wouldn't make sense in this game but also FH expansions never revolved around city expansions
Dunno if you ever been to Tokyo… but I’d not a fun place to drive. Only the Highway is nice the rest is congested small roads. You want the surrounding areas outside of Tokyo that’s where your mountains and scenic areas are
I actually like the tire smoke, rollbacks turn into phat burnouts just like they would IRL
They removed the drag lights because not everyone on the same server has the same connection. So for you it would be green and for someone else it still would be on the 2 red light. And we have something else that we use to drag. 3x in-gamechat and when the last disappears you go...
to see the steering wheel turning 900 degrees you have to change the settings if I'm not mistaken, this way when you are playing from the inside view of the vehicle you will see the steering wheel turning 900 degrees. (Sorry my english is not perfect :( )

There's open drift contests. Really cool online drift races. But its not easy. Always end up in the middle to last place. Even though I can drift and I'm having a good car/setup

The online ghost thing is the biggest issue too me, because I like to interact with other people not just my friends, yeah I get the ramming issue in forza but just make a clipping feature instead of other players being ghost.
I agree the drift zone scores should be separate for rear wheel drive versus all wheel drive cars-
However I have all my friends be using real wheel drive!!
The main part that pisses me off is the DLC cars that cost extra money achieve higher scores also then cars that are in the base game pass version

i think the drift point scoring system was inspired by nfs underground 2, since you will get more points easily by using AWD or 4WD cars

One thing I hate about forza horizon 5 is that there isn’t angle kits for drifting.
there is. drift suspension gives you more steering angle. i think its like 50 degrees for others and around 65-70 for drift

@@lxstdxstrict7611 lmao, not really. fd cars are just tuned to hold a ton of angle. ive got many cars that can do basically the same amount of angle as a fd car. its all in the tuning
One thing that I’ve noticed with horizon on my series s is that some of the npc cars will spawn and despawn right in front of my car when I’m going at 160 mph. I haven’t had this problem when playing forza horizon 4.
I totaly agree whit all of them, exepte the drifting storyline, because some people can't drift at all, maybe they can be an addiction, but not if you don't do them you can't progress, because I can say that is more difficult drift than racing
These are all completely reasonable suggestions to improve the game. I actually love every single one of these suggestions. i really hope that the studios implements these suggestions into the game.
Biggest issue by far is how I can't search for online races, for specific classes. If i really want to race S1 street online, I have to go through 50 attempts until I finally get a lobby that is playing S1 street, often only to find that they have 1 race left -.-
One of my top complaints is the way the transmission style setting applies to all vehicles instead of a per vehicle basis. Feels pretty weird to drive a 10 speed F-150 Raptor with a clutch…seems like an easy setting to allow each vehicle to have its own shifting setup.
Hey Goosiest, I 100% agree with everything you mentioned in this video. even the small things like manually toggling the headlights like in GTA. I mean, we can already toggle the roofs on some convertibles in the game by pushing the left stick down. Why not add an additional button press as in: Left Stick + A or Left Stick + Y etc. Again I agree, all these little things could make the game a more fun/competitive and overall better experience. Keep up the great work, Mate.
ur right like a 2013 game have more options of races , drifting and planes and manually turning on head lights and parkours riding a boat
That wouldn't work for a lot of controller players. I don't have any extra buttons when playing with clutch, and I don't even have room for the map button.
I wholeheartedly agree with #4!!! I too want to be able to set my own time and season when playing solo! But I have to do it via Windows time manipulation instead...
I've come to the conclusion, that the Forza Horizon community has some of the most insatiable people from all racing games.
I have the feeling, that the more vehicles or features or things are added, the more hungry the Forza community gets. The thirst of the community will never stops. If we want them to add things, why don't we do it the official way, by going to their website and send them suggestions?

at dragstrips now everybody is using the horn to start the race but drag lights would make it a lot easier and much more fun, and making the dragstrip a real 1/4 mile instead of like 900m is a no brainer
My main gripe is the fact that for some inexplicable reason, when i join my friend in a server it takes a minute or so for them to load in, and i figured out on the hotwheels DLC map that they are always the last car to load in, if anything his car should load in _before_ everyone else's
I want an on/off button for headlights.
I want a bigger playlist for the radio. Instead of having to listen to the same 7 songs on instant repeat... which, btw, are all censored versions (!).
I want a better selection system for picking out a car. Instead of holding the scroll button and hope you land somewhere near your target, why not just have the alphabet listed on the right? Now just pick T and jump straight to Toyota or whatever.
I want all these useless shirts, hats, watches, dresses, etc. completely removed from the Wheelspins. These are not real rewards - It's fluff! Who actually cares about this crap? What is this, My Little Pony?

I pretty much only play B-class cars here, some rarer occasion A-class. Would love to play more street races with other players instead of bots here and now again, but whenever I go into Horizon Open its always only S1-X class :')

I would play it lore if you can also choose your light color or the inside of the car or maybe the burnout smoke in different colors will be very sick too
The drag light were there during day 0 but was removed because it was rarely synced with other players
I would also like to be able to control the density of traffic as well in solo, like no traffic, low traffic, moderate traffic and high traffic.
Limos are a small niche, not everyone needs them, and if I'm not mistaken it was added later in the game while fh5 is only a few months old

finally someone notices the first person steering wheel. so many games just have 90⁰ the only games i can think of with good steering wheels are gran turismo and dirt
My biggest complaint is the day/night cycle, it lasts around 1hour 40mins but the night is only like 10 mins long, and there is no way to manually change the time outside of events

for the numba #9 in PC if you reduce particle effects quality it reduces the smoke and some other things
One thing I really dislike is that I build some routes in FH5 but if I want to repeat them e.g. 1 week later the stunts have gone. I need to recreate the race for getting them back. I were happy if they could leave the final race exactly like the test race because then I wouldn't have this issue.
I think there's an option for particle quality that also changes the density
Someone posted about the steering wheel a while ago in fb group and he said that apparently it's because the steering in FH can only turn 90 degree because it was supposed to be in a aracing mode? I'm not quite sure what that means but yea definitely will be a good update if they can change the steering.
I have a 1080 rotation, but I play cockpit, but straight up dash view no steering wheel in sight. I've actually have no choice to drift without handbrake, and stuck to Usain paddle shifts. Some of the drift zones I ran 4% coming in less than 100k-300k out of like 1.5M-3M in a RWD, but can't wait till I get a better wheel, a shifter, and a handbrake.
Believe it or not there was supposed to be a whole entire drifting festival site in the original version of Forza Horizon 5 and there was going to be special driving races and events along with building the drifting festival site, but the idea was scraped in the end
