Papa Don't Preach - Madonna Instrumental Cover 1/10/12
Of course Madonna is one of my all time favourite artists.
This was the first Madonna cover we did and the second one I have uploaded. Seeing her in 2012 at the MDNA tour was amazing! She did a short version of "Papa Don't Preach" where she was then "accosted" by demonically dressed dancers who put her in chains and carried her to a slackline tight rope where she walked along it (guided in part) while singing "Hung Up" backdropped by flames. An incredibly amazing show!
Nobody puts a show on like Madonna!
In this cover we started it with an excerpt of "Like A Virgin" at the Piano intro, leading to the main bulk of the song "Papa Don't Preach" and also added "Hung Up" during the bridge.
This was really fun to do as we were beginning to explore how you can combine songs together to create special versions.
And of course, finding the right sounds to convey that to the listener was no easy task. Madonna has high quality collaborators and production work, I merely am there with a little Yamaha PSR-290 and a Roland XV-2020 module. So putting this together was extremely fun to do.
We do have a version of this with vocals that also may be uploaded one day.
