That upside down spray ain’t that normal Canadian thing……awesome build by the way….. right up their with “General” and you know how much I loved the “General” build………🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
If this was one of those modern car build shows, they'd just slap in a new Currie axle with prefabbed brackets and crap onto a shiny powdercoated chassis. Not with Brent, he's a true old skool hot rodder who makes do with what he has, and THAT is why it's so much more interesting!
yeah when he was younger I would blow my self off before going into the house and I would blow him off. So now he associates blowing stuff off with going in the house and waiting to get the same treatment.
Getting serious now. Painting brake parts. Love your style of fabricating everything, the time you've invested onto the built definitely showing thru. One of the best builds currently on You Tube
I love the way everything seems to just fall into place for you. Got to be good planning when you’re trying to get to sleep at night. Thanks for sharing, Friend. 👊👍
Quite an education watching the build. I did a few engine swaps on 55-57 Chevys with 60's 283's or 327's but I never did a build like this. Everything from scratch with used parts, augmented with new wear parts. It is far more complicated. I am impressed. Every time I think it's getting close to done there are a hundred other things to do. My hat's off to you Brent. Thanks for taking us along. I love it ! Great music, particularly the Latin portion early on. Hi to Pablo and Buddy (he must have been in the house haha). 👍😎🍺
Man, in High School, we swapping a 283 in a '57 Bel-Air for a 327 AND pulled the auto for a muncit 4speed, w/overdrive. I said "we".....but I mostly carried tools and lifted the heavy stuff. All we had was 4 Jack stands, two hydraulic floor jacks and bunches and bunches of 2x4, 2x6, etc. ....and by the way, we painted it too.....although we did go to Tijuana to get the diamond tufted interior done .....got times those.....52 years ago!
Pablo sure loves ❤ his Daddy time!! The build continues to make headway, love the simple ,subtle changes you make. I see about 1 month till you finish enough for a road trip!!! Brent keep up the great work, jim
The truck is coming along Minty ! I always feel like I`ve learned something, after watching your videos. Thank You for sharing your video, and letting us hang out. Later ...
Looking good Brent, this truck should last a lifetime with painting the frame and all. It should be really quick as light as it is. Pablo's got your number now, he coming up and sitting watching you and waiting to see if you notice him and give him some rubs, its been working. Another great video.
it,s amazing how therapeutic watching someone else paint a chassis is ,,,nice work brent ,another couple of weeks and you will be driving out the shop at this rate👍
Good to see the update! After a recent loss Iti s good to see a safe comfortable show! Hi Pablo, he looked SO excited about supper! MAN you do 100% of the work yourself! It is "SUPER FANCY" for you! A damn showcar! Good job Brent!
Brent what you have taught me is how MUCH WORK goes in to building restoring and repairing a vehicle. When I was much younger in the 60’s and 70’s it did not seem like that much work. Then the vehicles were much simpler and bondo replaced steel and parts were readily available and cheap. You have my admiration and respect in all you talents. Thank you for these video series and MUSIC👍👍From the LOU STL 314
This is such a fun build to watch develop! I enjoy your narration and the music - Kudos to a job well done. i can't wait to see how it looks when you are done with it.
Love the "inverted rattle can" technique! When I'm the ultimate cheapskate, I will carefully score the the side of the can with a a file and puncture the score carefully with a razor blade to evacuate the propellant. Then I will cut open the can and pour what's left in a spray gun. Disclaimer: Don't try this at home kids, I've more than once been covered in "freckles"! 😆
Gotta love these winter projects. Goes into shop old n clanky and comes out way better clanky lol jkjk looks awesome. I love how you use most shit you already have. True rat rod fashion.
Pablo just eating up that attention... Loving you built an how you make it all come together. I think you need an little more frame around the back of the gas tank...
It is great seeing a project develop, both in your mind and on the floor. And your(old?) dog is such a softy, just dont let him sit on you, you might not survive! Gentle giant.
In the Navy, we were constantly fighting rust and the needle gun was the weapon of choice. It worked well, but it was very loud in confined spaces and it did a number on your hands!
Dont mind Pablo, i think hes sick of winter too… That chassis paint, guy said you have to live it off. For pinion angle i like to jack up until driveshaft is level, then angle pinion down 2 degrees.easy on a drive on hoist.
Paint does hide a lot of evil, the chasse & diff are looking good! The must not salt the road in your area like they do in mine, we do a lot of searching to find bits and pieces that are not all rusted out. I get reminded by all my bow tie friends when I run into trouble on my Fords, I thought about that when you were doing brakes.
You should run the driver side e-brake cable across the rear axle and run both of them up the passenger side. Then they should line up almost even to go into one cable. That way way it won't run on the driveshaft or hang down under the truck. Keep up the great work you're doing and God Bless you and your family.
Very good strength in all your fabricating. Well thought out Ideas and great technique. Looking for a rear bumper to protect that fuel cell. Always enjoy watching.
Almost every car or motorcycle guy at the place I work takes the old rental beds we have when they get old and use them, otherwise they get taken by the metal recycling guys
Thank you for making a quality video. The one thing I would recommend is that when you use a bolt in shear for locating suspension links such as the panhard bar, make sure the threads of the bolt are not in shear. Select a bolt where the shank is long enough for a proper installation. Washers can be added under the head of the bolt and on the thread end to accomplish this. The threads of a bolt act like an end mill if they are in shear and worse case they create a stress riser.
Happy Camper over here in the Riviera Brent ... always a welcome surprise to get another installment ... makes my Coffee more tasty somehow. LOL As to the "E Brakes" ... THEY SUCK on ALL makes/models Bro ... I think it's because normal disc pad replacement is so easy and accessible. Did my C6 Z06 E Brakes ... just because I was already there, not due to excessive wear. What a pain in the arse !!! But living in a Mountainous region (like the Alps) and having a stick shift, it is VERY necessary on a daily basis. Glad you gutted it through !!! Man-o-Man did you get a lot done in this segment !!!
Great what a wee coat of paint does, chassis looks the business now, back brakes looked a real bugger to do, but as usual you prevailed, well done see you on the next one.
This is still by far the best of the TH-cam car shows. Seeing the entire process is fascinating and really relaxing to watch.
Frankly, I think there's a whole other channel in here too. #growingaballermustache

Were you ever a house painter……….your so damn good with a brush……..😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Not with Brent, he's a true old skool hot rodder who makes do with what he has, and THAT is why it's so much more interesting!
You've got THAT right....someone, somewhere is doing exactly that right now!
Yeah and they'd create "tension" in the shop to try and make it interesting and detract from their out of the box project.
@@ReverendPONT Yup, "made for TV" leaves the real deal on the "cutting room" floor, never to be seen!
No truer words have been spoken. It's all about the old school way.... use what you got.
Don't forget the drama and half the content isn't car related. Also begging for subscribers.
hehe... Pablo with his poker face on like he wasn't interested in going in for supper!
It is always a school day at “Halfass Customs”. It is all coming together pretty nicely. 👍👍
Just a splash of paint makes all the difference.
As always Pablo steals the show. Lol he's so cool.
Terrific progress, had to laugh when Pablo got air blown and didn’t blink an eye. Great entertainment for the expatriot in the Mekong . Thank you☮️
yeah when he was younger I would blow my self off before going into the house and I would blow him off. So now he associates blowing stuff off with going in the house and waiting to get the same treatment.
Pablo‘s a great shop partner, always there giving silent approval encouragement.😁
Brent, PABLO is given you THE LOOK 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣Man she's looking good!! Think your one of my favorite to watch on YOU TUBE!!!! Can't wait for engine😁😁😁😁😁
Pablo is a Star, very very special!
Really appreciated the time you spent painting. Really makes a difference. Also appreciated the music.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏👏👏👏👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Simply Amazing. If I were only 14 yrs old again, and lived in your neighborhood, I'd be your dirtiest number 1 apprentice.
Coat of paint makes a world of difference. Looking great now. 👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺
My hat is off to you. You take on some of the most difficult jobs and have wonderful results. I wish I had your talent and patience. Love your laugh.
Between Brent, Bad Chad and Deboss my Canadian heart is full. Brent, your interaction with Pablo is soul warming.
Got to add D&D Speedshop to complete the Canadian quadfecta!
Man, I gotta say your the only guy I can actually watch paint and I find it entertaining. You sir have a knack for this youtube stuff
Getting serious now. Painting brake parts. Love your style of fabricating everything, the time you've invested onto the built definitely showing thru. One of the best builds currently on You Tube

Frame is looking good, good thing Pablo was around to help.
After fighting exploder e brakes, ya gotta appreciate a dog's life😁 Thanks for sharing Brent👍👍
HAHA

Amen on the swaps ... and the Latin music as well as the more comical "Zorba the Greek" tune !!!

Love the Iron Trap Garage reference with the music!
Love watching you design things as you go!
Cracks me up how Pablo just watches you work. Reminds me of some coworkers 😬. Thank you for your video.
You are making it look really nice. Sure will be nice when summer returns so you can get out driving it. 🌞
It's coming together it's starting to shine LOL good job keep recording I'm going to keep watching
Totally addicted to your videos. Love your banter and your chill attitude. Cheers from SW Ont
Pablo sure loves ❤ his Daddy time!! The build continues to make headway, love the simple ,subtle changes you make. I see about 1 month till you finish enough for a road trip!!! Brent keep up the great work, jim
Coming along nicely. Love the pup. Nothing wrong with having a wrecking ball for a head, until he headbutts you in the plums. Lol
The truck is coming along Minty !
I always feel like I`ve learned something,

*- I hope others besides me are stunned and impressed with now much works goes into this, Brent.*
Ahhh, I'm thinking Pablo would be pretty good with a paint brush. He sure does spend a lot of time in the Shop. Great job...
A needle gun, one of the best tools anyone that lives in the rust belt can use ! I did a whole OLDS engine with one of them!
Love the "inverted rattle can" technique! When I'm the ultimate cheapskate, I will carefully score the the side of the can with a a file and puncture the score carefully with a razor blade to evacuate the propellant. That's going to be one nice truck when it's done love the dog
Looking awesome Brent! A few more hours and a few more Canadian energy drinks and you’ll have it done! 👍👍🤘🏻🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🤘🏻🤘🏻👍👍🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I'm here EARLY today....gotta get coffee and get comfortable.... Drive on!

Yeah Brent those brake shoes are a real pain in the Rear Axle. Lol 😎👍🇨🇦
Great work! Pablo is an absolute unit!
Enjoyed watching and learning how we should build a hot rod, Make it work and be proud of how it looks. Wish I had your talents Great job Brent.
Awesome job painting the truck

Pablo is one heckuva great dog. So glad he's got you.
keep up the good work. A pat on the head for Pablo!
I enjoy how Pablo is like the foreman watching over things.. He looks to have a great nature
Dont mind Pablo, i think hes sick of winter too…
That chassis paint, guy said you have to live it off.
For pinion angle i like to jack up until driveshaft is level, then angle pinion down 2 degrees.easy on a drive on hoist.
I sure am enjoying this build. Great job! I can't wait to see it when you finish all the work.
Good Day Mr Brent and Pablo!!!
Really coming together looks great.
Wow getting excited for your hotrod Brent
Automotive Departments at community colleges should have a course on building custom rods and use Brent's videos as the curriculum.
This build gets more interesting episode by episode. Amazing display of mad skills.
Paint does hide a lot of evil, the chasse & diff are looking good! thanks for keeping us updated on this rod build.
Your doing a great job on the chassis making all the parts, and is Pablo supervising I see him sitting watching you lol
I sure wish they had that brake flaring tool when I was younger that thing is awesome The old style still works though
You should run the driver side e-brake cable across the rear axle and run both of them up the passenger side. Then they should line up almost even to go into one cable. That way way it won't run on the driveshaft or hang down under the truck. Keep up the great work you're doing and God Bless you and your family.
Great series and love how quick you get the new ones out!!!
With your weather it's not hard to imagine why it takes forever for paint to flash off.
So true. It's a dump there, snow, garbage and salt every where
This thing is really shaping up to be a way cool hot rod Brent! Awesomeness!
Very good strength in all your fabricating. Well thought out Ideas and great technique. Looking for a rear bumper to protect that fuel cell. Always enjoy watching.
That's all I did under my Chevy wagon I brushed it on with black Marin boat paint flat black looked real good when it dried. Looking great Brent 👍🏽
Nice work, watching paint drye is my favourite wast of time :)
Looks like Pablo is thinking he's going for a ride pretty soon. Great work!
Brent ,like the ideal of the reuse of the hospital bed. great ideal
Recycling lol
Almost every car or motorcycle guy at the place I work takes the old rental beds we have when they get old and use them, otherwise they get taken by the metal recycling guys
That needle gun reminds me of the Navy. I used to chip paint on the ship. Didn't think I would ever see one again.
This is turning into one of my favorite builds I've seen you do 😎👍
Your trucks really taking shape and looking so cool.!!! Thanks Brent
Frame looks terrific with those bars. Super cool to watch her come together. Thank you.
Thank you for making a quality video. It’s looking fantastic, great stuff. I’m glad for another video it’s better than anything on tv.
Really coming together 👌. Enjoying the heck outta this build..and the last ones too..
Best no BS channel , just work. LOVE IT
That black paint spreads like antiseize. Messy stuff. Pablo is such a hoot...love the dead pan expression
for some reason, i enjoyed watching you brush paint, must be because it looked like you enjoyed it too ... 😁 👍🏽 😁
Pablo see's four wheels and figures roll time coming up lol great job looking good 👍👍
Great what a wee coat of paint does, chassis looks the business now, back brakes looked a real bugger to do, but as usual you prevailed, well done see you on the next one.
Your the best my friend at what you do! Looking forward to seeing the project completed! Thank you for sharing!
Really starting to come along now bud…lots of work still but the finish is in sight , loving the build 👍🏻🇬🇧
Frame looking tasty! Well done!
Crown Victoria rear park brakes are the same. I’ve done many and after a couple they get easier. I feel your pain.😎😎
I am getting more and more excited to see this completed! Really great video to watch.
