yup - early JD, Cure, Daniel Ash, Johnny Mars... Lots of the East coast US Bauhuas and Berkely movement from late 70's -82ish, which in turm was inspired by what became UK goth punk (pioneered the likes of Smiths, JD, Ash, M et al) funded by the BBC from 77-80. This album is really gonna grow on me - it's quite deep in structure, composition, and retro-punk. Everything I love about the Regrettes! New direction but serious kibbles.
The fine art of upbeat and melancholy at the same time.
Favourite one from this album by far 😎

Love it!
Sounds like Almost Crimes by Broken Social Scene
Sounds just a little like Joy Division at the beginning isn't it? Great album.
