- The legendary Tropicana casino and hotel was reduced to a pile of rubble on the Las Vegas Strip. The Tropicana opened in 1957. In its heyday, it was home to the Rat Pack. In 2000 Inside Edition's Stacy Gualandi danced with the Tropicana showgirls. Before the controlled blast, there were fireworks and a spectacular light show using 700 drones. Cameras caught every angle as the 67-year-old structure came crashing down.

RIP Tropicana the citizens of Las Vegas will miss the legacy hotel.
Went to Vegas 10 years ago and stayed at the riviera for $25 a night and the tropicana $55 for a week not knowing in a few years both will be gone…the riviera was in bad conditions,Tropicana was great
I’VE ONLY BEEN TO LAS VEGAS ONCE, BACK IN APRIL 2013 AND THE ONLY HOTEL I STAYED AT WAS THE TROPICANA BECAUSE AT THE TIME IT WAS THE BEST CHEAPEST HOTEL IN LAS VEGAS. MAY ITS LEGACY NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!!
