25.8 Miles on 1.1L, the Octavia has a 55 Liter fuel Tank. If you could keep that fuel economy up for the whole time, thats 1290 miles or 2076km on one tank
Hard to think a 1.9 tdi engine, would go 2.6l/100km, combined cycle.
They were testing it in the city and outside, if i've seen correctly.
Thanks
The legend has it that when you drive octavia 1.9 the right way it actually produces disel.

I love it just that bit more because it's so similar to the car I drive the most, our family Skoda Octavia, manual TDI, approaching 400 000 km
Have you been neglecting Miles? He's covered in cobwebs.
Alex did a story on instagram a few weeks ago where they got this and the 330d touring out of storage where they sat pretty much since the miles project ended, so...

good luck with it breaking
My dad had a 2001 Fabia Combi (break) with the 1.9 TDI 105hp and he got rid of it in 2016 after 270.000km just because his hip went bad and he needed a taller car, engine running like new, with abnormally high power and torque for its figures and great fuel economy, even if its suspensions were totally worn and it was bouncy as a boat.
I love these kinda videos. Keep up with the awesome content, CT.
I love Miles videos
This eats every challenge you put on it.
What an Hero.
Your back with a proper video.....been binge watching and then bam brick wall no proper videos for 3 weeks
this happens to me each week
a Prius vs Miles, who can go the farthest on a set amount of fuel.
In the city a Prius because of the regen braking and stop start system that favours city driving. Out on the Motorway or in the countryside Miles would beat the Prius as all the advantages it has in the city would be of no use and the hybrid system would end up a dead weight.
yes!!
Miles win's for shure
@@gravemind6536 I wouldn't be so certain.. Can a Prius go under 3,5L driving in city? With right braking, Miles can go under 4L/100km with diesel of course.

1:04 I love that bit
We answered the question no one asked.
so miles does 113mpg? lol
Good point, clearly there must have been some fuel left in the tank, which couldnt be drained easily
Well you can drive it woth 3.5liters for 100kilometer ive done it.
@@peterzingler6221 However the first few miles the engine needs to be warmed up, therefore consuming much more fuel. There are many things to take into consideration like elevation change, wind etc, but i think 25 is not possible to do with 1 litre and a cold engine
One other thing to consider is with a near empty tank there is a lot less weight in the car
urbex2007 they run the engine dry, nothing left in any rails, even if there was, it would be mills not litres.
They're were probably driving around 45-50mph which would be the most efficient for that car.
That last “thank you” is... legendary. 🤣

This is the 1st vid ive seen from this channel. Loved it! Great idea and presenters seem likeable. Imo this could be a series (i obv dunnoif it is already) see how far each car gets on a X amount of fuel. If it was successful yous could obv switch from dieselto petrol and double the size of the series.
Loved that soft focus 80s look from the diesel-smudged camera.

People always talk about sediment at the bottom of a fuel tank. Can you actually open one up and prove it?
Daniel Wilson
People are idiots, the fuel pick-up is always on the bottom of the tank, otherwise you'd run out of fuel on a full tank.
Diesel tanks can rust due to water and algae can grow in tanks.
Yes, you can find actual sediments in a fuel tank. Older vehicles with metal tanks will often have rust flakes. The modern plastic tanks will eventually have particles of various trash
th-cam.com/video/Te3Siaq9kKY/w-d-xo.html
@@Robert-cu9bm Yes if Diesel is left to sit in the tank for too long algae and other nasties will grow in the fuel but if the car is in regular use this will not happen as the diesel will likely never be more than 1 month old.

*_💎💎very very beautiful and waiting for more success and excellence💎💎_*
I was at a petrol station a few days ago, the diesel was cheaper than the petrol. Glad to see diesel being phased out this quickly
That's just seasonal the demand for desel hearing oil used in much of the northan hemisphere is low in the summer and people burn more petrol on trips in summer. It will change once it gets colder.
So in summary, Miles did a marathon on 1L diesel in an hour. 🏃♂️🏃♀️
