- How The Internet Travels Under Sea. No matter where you are located, almost all of your internet data is transmitted through a hidden network of undersea cables. In fact, 97% of all internet traffic runs through this hidden infrastructure of thousands of miles of fiber optic cables that zig-zag our ocean floors.
With our dependence on the internet increasing by the day, modern life is totally reliant on these sub-aquatic wires. But how do they work, and what is the future of internet communications? Also, how is it possible that your internet connection is mostly always there - don't these cables get destroyed by ships and sharks? - บันเทิง
Total INTERNAL Reflection.
Fascinating most humans don't think of when using the internet .
I think you'll find these speeds to be reported in bits, not bytes. Bits is data rate, Bytes is data amount. A Byte = 8 Bits. They are both metrics for data volume, but are used for different functions.
That shark was chewing on the underwater internet cable , hahaha
Thank you!
Its total internal reflection. Lol . But nice vid thought . Keep it up !!
thanks for this info and this vid.
B in Kenya we are now experiencing outrageous, the cable have been cut on red sea.i thought internet is transmitted by satellite
Thank you for sharing this
love video sound & picture next video please sir
Broo it's "Total Internal Reflection"! @3:23 Not "Total Internet Reflection" 😂
and the animation shown is funny too
2:25 the shark was like: hmmm was this? a black massive noodle lemme bite this and see what it taste like… hmmm it seems these hoooomans made this let me end their line of communication LMFAO
Thank you
Hi there, does anyone manage this channel? We would be interested in talking to someone about potentially licensing your under sea cable footage
This video is a rip off of: 20.000 cables under the sea (Documentary about the huge fibre optic cables that connect us, 2010)
it's a good backup
The best
Eeerrr that’s not France on the map at 0:52
total INTERNAL reflection. jesus christ man
i was just about to comment and saw this.
have you ever heard 'sleep of tongue'? what's the big deal here to call Jesus christ? relax, holy cow.
@@sajidulislamskilled the phrase is "slip of the tongue". it's not a big deal, where i come from people say 'jesus christ' to express even the most mundane feelings so it's not considered sacrilegious to use that phrase so i apologize if that offended you
it's a pet peeve of mine if you're going to be a presenter, especially of information, and you get thing wrongs . and the fact that they didn't catch their mistake during their editing, or didn't bother correcting it, shows a lack of due diligence
Slip of tongue?? Along with butter finger when typing it?? :)
I like most
Total internet reflection LMAO
have you ever heard 'sleep of tongue' ?
When was the last time I heard my country S. Africa getting some tech upgrades 🔥🔥😁
connection techniques 2022 lists
wow
Total internet reflection
😂
Amazing video..but..It's "Total Internal Reflection" !!!! and not Total Internet Reflection!!!!
Says Britain and France and shows Ireland and new york
Actually, the first trans Atlantic cable went from Ireland to Newfoundland. At the time, both were still part of the British empire.
Very good
I didnt know France was in North America
Internet helps
All this effort just to facilitate cringe TikTok kid 😌
lol, that was good.
I did not know Canada was France
Its total internal reflection not internet 🤦🏻♂️
Wait I thought this was a spoof!
The narrator needs to learn and understand the difference between bits and bytes. Even when the graphic on screen showed petabits, he read it out as petabytes.... they are not the same thing
A narrator does not write the script, normally.
So, why exactly do we have “satellites”?
Satellites are used for many purposes, like GPS and navigation as well as telecommunications. In areas where there is no wired connectivity or is unreliable, you can use satellite phones or satellite internet.
Satellites have numerous other uses. internet supplied via satellites will be much slower compared to under ocean cables. Satellite internet is available anywhere in the world like with Elons Starlink
Originally, cables across the ocean were copper, first for telegraph and much later voice. However, the bandwidth was very limited, so a cable might carry a couple of dozen phone calls. This made those calls very expensive. Then satellites were used, which provided much more bandwidth and much cheaper calls. However, the bandwidth of fibre supports a lot more calls and all sorts of data. Satellites are still used for places that aren't connected by cable.
I bet you can make hella money being a lineman who works on that stuff, probably 6 digits a year... you just gotta be able to dive and know how to work on it. 😎
ROV's and the cable techs do the work and we are paid ~US600 p/d for 12 hrs p/d.
@@Mark-gg6iy that's alot
This video is a rip off of 20.000 cables under the sea (Documentary about the huge fibre optic cables that connect us, 2010) found on YT.
0:47 ???????????????????????
I thought the same thing plus Man Made a natural disaster events ! Who made this ?
Cables? Hahaha so are they admitting nothing comes from a satellite? 😂
Watch is again, perhaps you will understand the second time.
Total Internet Reflection. WTF. Noooooo. It called total internal reflection. Fire your editor,.
Errr check the first minute of this video…. That’s not France dude
France controlled it
psst.....narrators normally do not write the script they read.
Why do you assume the script writer(s) was male?
Trump Univ,?
Thank you america for loving jesus jews
America is a country.
Apparently, you are confusing the people who are citizens of that country and the country.
BTW.... your post is gibberish.

Truly you asurred me that after giving your natural herbal medications to my autistic son he will be fine, after 21 days he speaks better thanks to Doctor isibor.❤
Why do you call Ireland the UK the first cable ran across the Atlantic was from Co Kerry In Ireland FACT.
In 1850 Ireland was an independent nation yet
At the time the first cable was laid, both Ireland and Newfoundland were part of the British empire. Since then, the southern part of Ireland has become a separate country and Newfoundland, part of Canada.
I'm surprised this isn't considered like top secret
You have no understanding of the offshore telecommunications industry.
Boooooooooooo-Eaze
lol just use wifi bozos
Yes, world a Trump Univ. graduate.
Elon Musk is the biggest snake oil salesman in history.
How is that?
@badhonsarkar3018 because he is incharge of space x yet he isn't running the aerospace industry so it's just this person thinking they are smart when in reality they have a sheep brain and use references from conspiracy theories of him being the anti-christ
Apparently all of the people who buy snake oil use starlink😂@@badhonsarkar3018
@@badhonsarkar3018or there may be a large Martian market 🤣
The guy who wrote this comment is obviously really really into CNN and state sponsored media😂
