I live in NYC. Nothing here is a great deal. Its just what we tell ourselves to stay sane over the ridiculous amounts of money weir paying. I pay $750 for a bedroom in an apartment with 4 other roommates. 1 bathroom. I tell myself everyday its a great deal.

Can we get some working professionals on here? such as doctors, nurses, lawyers, vets, mechanics! - people who spend a lot of their time at work and who don't work from home or aren't supported by their partner -as much as it is nice to see people who have "creative jobs" - I want to see how a single female lawyer makes her way through the world, how do all the nurses in NYC afford to live, what about people who own their houses/apartments in NYC, some MEN would be nice and not ones whose GF's have thrown all their stuff out because it did fit their aesthetic. I KNOW this is about sweet digs but it also looks at a certain population of people, can we branch out from the young females, please.

Yes!!! It drove me crazy! She plugged her business in the intro, mentioned her site when she showed the bar cart, explained everything using "I","my" or "mine". But I rolled my eyes so hard they almost fell out and rolled across the floor when she said "he was my lawyer when I was starting my own business. I think it's pretty obvious I was his favorite client." And the whole "we like to have a date night and I go over and sit on his lap." What the hell?! I think she feels she has to mention things like this so everyone will think her relationship is so cute and great because in reality, she's probably incredibly needy and he probably works all the time because he can't stand being around her. I know this comment may be mean, but she just rubbed me the wrong way. She strikes me as the one in her friend group that always steers the conversation back to her because there world obviously revolves around her. I don't know what her business is about, but based on the bar cart comment I'm assuming it's home decor and there's no way I would trust her taste based on the kitchen cabinets and contact paper counter tops. Ok, rant over. Lol!

Doesn't her life give context to the place that she is living in and the reason why she decorated her place as such? If one simply wants to look for home decoration ideas, one can look at brochures, go to furniture stores and use Pinterest. These videos are meant to show more than "Ideas to decorate one's sweet digs". It is called "MY sweet digs" because more than just showing one to their space, it tells the owner's personal affiliation to his/her sweet digs - and that inevitably includes sharing their life.
Also, comments about her relationship with her fiance are just unnecessary. She was probably giving casual remarks when she said "throwing all of his stuff". You don't know the actual process of their discussion. So please, give others the benefit of the doubt before proceeding with your nasty judgements and comments. They can be hurtful.

She only has a Bachelor's degree in something totally unrelated (I want to say it's International Relations?). She charges people 175$ per HOUR (!!!) for her time. Extremely naive people apparently pay it. Meanwhile, my mom is a very experienced, licensed therapist with a Master's degree and she charges 120 out of pocket, and much, much less if the person uses insurance (nearly all of her clients are covered by insurance, she gets "cash clients" once in a blue moon). She essentially does what life coaches do, but in a much more protected and educated manner. It actually makes me mad, these are basically vulnerable/desperate people who are essentially getting conned by a glamorous social media presence. Go to a licensed, educated therapist who takes insurance instead of paying through the nose to solicit life advice from people who aren't nearly as qualified. I, too, can't believe this is a thing.

@@tatianazalewski3384 That's like getting upset because Ellen Degeneres found somebody to appear on her show. "Not fair. They already have been on some other talk show." LOL.

If she can afford to pay this in rent a month she could afford a mortgage and buy her own apartment, but I'm not judging if she is happy maybe she's going to do it after she gets married

Love it. Especially love the two levels and the outdoor space. That is unheard of at that price.

I like this apartment, there is a lot of stuff but I think it’s interesting and makes a home cozier. The stairs are amazing.

It's all about location. There are units like this on my block, around the corner from Barclay's Center, going for 5K-8K per month depending on the number of bedrooms. These units are never vacant. There are wating lists for these units. My landlord's policy is to rent only, no sales. Sad but true.

For NYC, $5K a month is still not enough to afford a real kitchen. Most renters in nyc have what they call 'kitchenettes'. It's like amazing how she has full size appliances in her tiny kitchen. I feel Sweetdigs always tends to focus on more 'affordable' or hidden gem homes that are hard to find nowadays unless you decide to commute 45 mins or 1hr by express trains farther into east/north Brooklyn, Queens or upper Manhattan or the Bronx. It's sad how the nyc rental market is gentrifying sooo much and soo fast over the past years. When they say "it's a great deal for New York"... sadly it's true. I know some people actually pay that much rent in Manhattan for barely one bedroom without any real pantry space, a real dining room, a powder room, AND definitely no terrace.

I don't understand why there's so many haters in the comments, especially people who think they can comment on this woman's relationship or her business. If you don't like what she sells or think it's too expensive don't buy it?!? Having a lifestyle brand doesn't inherently make you narcissistic, and I really don't see how any of the comments she's made make her arrogant or out of touch - she just likes more expensive decor and can obviously afford it.

Aside from putting contact paper on the countertops in the kitchen (probably not a design choice I'd make, but I don't know what they looked like before), I actually love her home. I think it is really spacious and bright, I like the homey decor, and it's is a lot of room for $4675 by NYC standards. Plus, her outdoor space is fantastic.

that’s a great price for a home like that in that area in NYC. however, gentrification is wild. transplants will pay whatever to live in nyc
