Well done 👏, this is useful and relevant to my repairs. With no mechanical acumen/experience, your tutelage is most important and welcome. Keep them E34 resolutions coming!
Thanks bro! Damn i have to check my resistor asap. I have no cabin air filter and leaves and seeds come in through the vents. I bet theres leaves on the resistor like you had. Had my e34 for 15years and havent checked it. 😆
Great video, informative, well filmed and well explained. Thanks for uploading. Like the shot of the two e34s side by side, one with narrow kidney grille and one with later wider kidney grille. They both look so purposeful and classy.
Great video! I recently did the throttle linkage bushings on the black bar that connects the pedal to the cable, but not the grommet you replaced so I'll order that soon. Thank you for posting the part numbers!
Thank you for second video 🙏 My fan speed only works on last step and I remeber checking that resistor but I couldn't find it 😅 (I was in hurry, maybe I couldn't saw it) My 92 E34 has something called IHKA ac system and maybe it has a different resistor I'm not sure but I'll check that resistor again
You have the "sword" resistor. It's next to the glove box opening once you remove it. I've had 2 1990 e34s and a 1990 750iL. Both the same. Currently own a 1990 e34 535i - no cabin filter and the "sword" resistor for the fan control.
I’m surprised no one yet has mentioned that the cheap versions of the new fuel door clips just will not work. You want to spend the 30-40$ (not sure these days, it has been a few years ) on the real BMW model. I’m sure many are lucky with the aftermarket ones, but I know many many others who have had them not work. They just don’t line up perfectly and allow it to stay locked in Great video!
You're right, and I did fail to mention that. From my research, that's definitely the case with all the no name china specials on eBay and Amazon. This Vaico branded part definitely worked perfectly though, and from what I can tell is indistinguishable in design and quality from the genuine part. Thanks!
Great videos....glad I found your channel. I have a 1993 520i manual wagon. I love doing my own maintenance and repairs. However sometimes when searching for parts, the 520i model does not appear and I only have the 525i model. Everything else shows but mine is the 520i 2.0 24V 110kw/150hp model. I went ahead and ordered the hood and rear hatch lift struts. I hope they fit! My reverse light stopped working and I see on some forums that it may be the reverse light switch located on the transmission. Have you come across this issue?
Not a problem I've run into yet, but will definitely turn into a video when I do. You say all 4 windows aren't working? How about the sunroof as well? If nothing is working it's likely the general module under the rear seat that's the issue.
@@MyersMotors just got my 93 525i E34 with the Vanos system. and I really wish it was a manual.... would it be hard to turn one of these into a manual? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Would you recommend an e34 to someone who has no prior knowledge/experience fixing up cars? Would it be easy or do-able to maintain it for someone with no mechanical background?
Absolutely! I started with Subarus and these are so much more reliable and easy to work on. Definitely a great car to learn on. Granted, as with any car, I would recommend taking the time to find one that's been well maintained to reduce the number of issues that pop up, otherwise you'll likely get overwhelmed.
I have a problem with my e34 concern the same part you've mentioned in the video, and its the same problem with my brother's one . Sometimes the fan works without switch it on 🤷 . How can i fix it
That's odd. I'd definitely check some forums for that. Might be as simple as the knob itself failing, or it could be a wiring issue somewhere. I've never experienced that myself, but I'm sure there are others who have online. Good luck!
I can't imagine any circumstances that it would. It's more likely that there is debris somewhere in the system that's causing noise, most likely in the resistor/cabin air filter cavity.
hello. I was wondering about the rollcage for a969 rc car on thingiverse? It has been quite a while since you told me it would be up soon. What happened? And when can i expect to see it on your thingiverse page?

My 1995 BMW 5251 is my bread winner right now doing 62 miles daily. I FEEL SAFE AND TAKE COMFORT IN ITS POWER WHEN NEEDED.
Love your videos! Keep em up. Owner of E34 M5 here.
Brah you have given me so much confidence to work on my car..thanks for the videos

Glad you find it helpful! Will do.
Glad to see someone saving these ol gals! Have had 3 e34's, great cars!
THANK YOU, i was searching for the origin of the burning smell for months!! Greets from Germany
Hey, happy to help!
I used heat to fit the grommet. The 5mm nut and bolt is a great idea.

My daily is an E34 530i! Great car
This is crazy!! I bought exactly the same car a week ago! 😂 The same color combination, in and out. but mine is automatic 540i 1995
Oh boy, I would love a 540i in this spec. That with a 6 speed is the dream.
You have my dream car sir (do a manual swap)

@@MikeBMW thanks bro, I'll check that but that case I'm kinda unlucky 😅 that sword resistor looks pricey
My son has one of these. I need a good video on how to change the driver door Bowden cable

Yeah my e34 540i 4 window regulators are not working hopefully you could make a video of it.

They do struggle to go up. The problem is how to get access to the rear regulator.
Great content, and, largely applicable to an earlier 1990 e34 but BMW made a lot of changes by the time of your models of the e34.
Glad you found it helpful. '93 is the oldest I've gotten my hands on, I'm sure there were a lot of little updates over the years

@@CapBamBam not hard, but you need all the parts. I did it on an e36
Very Nice video, Is the fuel door hinge you got OEM? heard a lot of bad thing about the aftermarket ones but yours seemed to be an easy install
Thanks! I did forget to mention that in the video - I actually used a VAICO brand part. I believe it was ~$10. Perfect fit, no complaints.
@@MyersMotors ok awesome thank you
Hey bud which brand did you go with for the door hinge?
Absolutely yeah I don't know if you still have this car for sale or anything but Im interested hit me up I have a e34 540i but I want a 525i
THX man
Liked and subscribed, interesting stuff. Too bad you didn’t give the fuel cap door a quick clean before reinstalling tho ;)
Do I need to pull out my battery when removing blower motor resistor

Are you going to make part 3 ?
My fuel door fell off right after i bought my e34 lol
Can the blow motor resistors make noise when you running a/c
I can't imagine any circumstances that it would. It's more likely that there is debris somewhere in the system that's causing noise, most likely in the resistor/cabin air filter cavity.
great stuff
Thanks!
It is 525i realible as daily car?

I probably won't, sorry. I don't remember my login information nor do I remember where I had the files saved.
@@MyersMotors that's sad 😔
I just got a e34 with 340k. 😂. Wish me luck.
With the right care these things last forever. Godspeed 🫡
Is t'hi E34 still available?
Just sold a couple days ago
I'll try to catch the next one
Hello, I am from Libya. Do you have a cheap E34 for sale? I dream of one of them 🙄
If you see my comment please reply
Misinformation this is dangerous doing your own mechanic work may mess up the car and it’s not as easy as this man is making it out to be
Lol yes it is that easy
I guess for people that are totally clueless it's best to get a professional to do your repairs....
