Took me a long time to get use to Logitech's G600, recently swapped over to the g502. Seen the Scimitar at best-buy. Thought it looked kinda meh online, at the store it felt nice and I almost decided to pick it up on the spot. I was looking for a fps mouse at the time though like a Zowie FK1. I didn't know the side buttons slid. That's one of my problems with the Logitech mice I have some of the buttons are too far up. I really like my extra buttons and macros so I may even go back and pick up one of these. I don't like my Corsair K90's software compared to other software I've used. i personally like the yellow colour added to it. Its called breaking out of the mainstrea, and not always follow the stream like any other black/grey mice.
I feel like braided cables used to be something that was durable, but, they started skimping on the internal plastic. I'd rather have a thick cable with the braiding on top. It looks like it's more for appearances while maintaining something close to old school cable durability.
As an M95 user, I am still upset that they abandoned this button layout. Had they simply added an optical sensor, a tilting scroll wheel, and RGB capabilities to the M95, I would have run out and bought one. Instead, they went for the same numpad-on-your-mouse layout used by pretty much every other MMO mouse, and ditched the USP that made me choose the M95 over the G600 or Naga.

Yea I couldn't understand the yellow, so went with the black. I love this mouse in combo with K70 Lux rgb keyboard. I use them for Star Wars The Old Republic (mmo). I agree with everything you said. In addition, the latest update to the software has the same issue with freezing or crashing forcing you to close the application. Everytime I want do a surface performance it freezes. However the mouse is exactly as described in the video. I love the mouse, but like the software. 4.5/5 rating. Ps.....I wished it was USB 3.0 compatible.

I don't have that mouse, I have the Corsair M65 RGB, I'll never go to different mouse, I went threw 4 different mouses before I found the right 1. Software is a bit confusing, but I never had it freeze up, I have had it corrupt on me once, but that was when I was testing a CPU Overclock.

How does this compare to the Naga? I liked my naga, but I really like the idea of being able to move the side keypad for the mouse. My naga's scroll wheel stopped functioning correctly so it kinda bugs me and im looking to replace it.
So I got this mouse and already like it more than my Naga which I've used since 2009, I just have one question, I suck at the software, I remapped the buttons underneath the mouse wheel to be forward and backward for web browsing, and I use them in game, but they still adjust the dpi along with doing what theyre mapped to, anyway to disable that?
I have the balck version of this mouse my scroll wheel slows down after a full circle or so, I need extra effort to go past a full circle and then it goes back to normal resistance any idea what's going on?

The reasoning for their decisions is that they are an American company and they make very clean looking products which is very liked among the community. my first pc case was corsair. my first expensive mouse and keyboard, corsair. they all looked very clean and simple besides the lighting on the peripherals.

Sooo... Don't use the extra button? Having 24 different combinations at your finger tips can be a bit overwhelming, I agree, but now that I got used to it I can't do without it. Unfortunately the G600's build quality is absolutely terrible, I've been using it for about two years and it's my third unit. I've had all kinds of mice before, and they all lasted much longer (Razer, Corsair, and Micro$oft even) so I'm positive's not my fault they keep dying on me. I just wish we had a similar solution from a great company such as Corsair providing us with better build quality, and for people who do not wish to use that... Well, just don't bind that key to anything, even if you hit it by accident every five seconds it's not going to activate anything. We gotta remember what PC gaming is all about: providing more options.

Average competitive gamer would not be able to tell the difference between wired mouse and gaming wireless mouse. It doesn't even need to be expensive one - for example Bloody R8. Did you actually tried models released in 2014-2015? Have you compared them in real life?
im a MMORPG with fast paced battle and i can tell the difference.. if u dont realize it then u are not using each mouse long enough to tell the difference...
update: the scimitar DOES in fact have an alternative to that UGLY yellow accent. there is also a model with a very nice neutral black/gun metal grey finish on the mouse in place of that horrifying yellow. ill be honest, i was very interested in the scimitar, but almost bought a razer naga just for the simple fact that yellow was totally offputting.

I regret asking for this thing for Christmas. Aside from looking better than my 2012 Razer Naga it's inferior in every way. The feeling of the keys suck. The software sucks which in turn means the functionality of the mouse is terrible. Everything is relant on the software which always refuses to work and resets my button assignments. And the way the buttons work is completely asinine and unacceptable for the price of this thing. I actually had to go out of my way to create macros so that the buttons when held down would actually register as being held as opposed to just clicking once. The search for the perfect optical RGB hardware based mouse continues.

+RUNANDGUN87 I've never had any issues accidentally actuating either of my Razer Naga's, ive had both the original and the 2014. However the twin-eye sensor is finicky. The left click on my original got really easy to trigger after 4 years. For the 2014 ive got an issue with the scroll wheel scrolling when i drop the mouse from palming and random scrolling when i actually try to use the wheel, there probably a hair in there or something.
Jon Asgaeroth Yeah, when I got my naga it was the only mouse like it. Then a couple years latter it started failing and I needed a replacement and I ran into the G600. And I have to say it has been the best mouse I have ever used. But sadly after almost 3 years of use it is starting to fail me. :( it double clicks all the time so I have resorted to binding the left click to one of the middle buttons until I can get the funds to replace it.
Trying to decide between this and the G600, but I think I'll take the G600 since I don't see the corsair having any advantages asides for a better sensor, on the contrary the G600 looks comfortable and ring click sounds awesome.

it does only come in yellow. i dont like the yellow or the two tone numberpad. i think corsair should keep the design elegant that theyre known for. they dont need to follow the crowd and make things "gamer"-y.
I really can't stand when vendors put all these non-neutral colors on their products. The yellow accent on this mouse is definitely a factor of me not buying it, even though I'd really like to test it out. I know it's a crazy thing to gripe about but I'm a stickler like that. If you're going to do something like that, at least make the colored parts easily replaceable so people can customize it for their own setups.
I have never regretted buying this mouse more than I have ever regretted a mouse in my life time and that does include any old ass rollerball mouse. The middle mouse wheel button has some plastic parts connected to it internally. It randomly broke, and now what the f is the point of the mouse if I do not have a middle mouse button. I cannot even open it to fix it. It is a total waste of time. The software is good, I really liked ... except the software may crash and then all of your keybindings are gone. I got this mouse fucking hated it. your fingers drag on the mat when you use the 1 4 7 10 keys. the mouse is super temperamental. the mouse looks cool... and bajheera endorses it... im a big fan it was a huge huge let down. proceed with caution. ive used nagas for yeaaaars I went from the molten to the scimitar. returned it and got the new naga chroma. I'm much more happy with this mouse. you get the 2 extra buttons from the side push of the scroll wheel. the mouse feels super comfy. the buttons have way better separation. ( I found that when I using the scimitar often buttons would get pushed that I didnt want to push) the buttons also feel a whole lot more snappy. the software from razer is more user friendly and a lot more hassle free. I hope corsair steps their game up. razer has been doing it for a long ass time with the MMO mouse. if corsair wants to be a strong option in the category they should step their game up. High price mediocre quality.

Problems vs M95, unweighted scroll wheel, yellow whether you like it or not, and no thumb rest in case you play MMOs and FPS.

+RUNANDGUN87 I've never had any issues accidentally actuating either of my Razer Naga's, ive had both the original and the 2014. However the twin-eye sensor is finicky. The left click on my original got really easy to trigger after 4 years. For the 2014 ive got an issue with the scroll wheel scrolling when i drop the mouse from palming and random scrolling when i actually try to use the wheel, there probably a hair in there or something.

Jon Asgaeroth Yeah, when I got my naga it was the only mouse like it. Then a couple years latter it started failing and I needed a replacement and I ran into the G600. And I have to say it has been the best mouse I have ever used. But sadly after almost 3 years of use it is starting to fail me. :( it double clicks all the time so I have resorted to binding the left click to one of the middle buttons until I can get the funds to replace it.
Trying to decide between this and the G600, but I think I'll take the G600 since I don't see the corsair having any advantages asides for a better sensor, on the contrary the G600 looks comfortable and ring click sounds awesome.
Ruben Dragawn G600 isn't very good for claw handing, you need to use a hand at rest position, but this is similar to the Scimitar as well.
Most Mobas use max 12 buttons, except maybe smite

When will they design a mouse with five buttons across the front top of the mouse.....LMB LMTB MMB RMTB RMB? The side buttons are awkward to use they should be across the front top of the mouse like the standard LMB MMD and RMB with the additional LMTB and RMTB.
Meh the yellow isn't for me but the software is pretty nice.
i agree the yellow put me off and enough not to buy it although i'm long for my k70 rgb soulmate... :(

The Yellow is so odd
The yellow accent is what's stopping me from purchasing this mouse. I personally would much prefer it to be all black, with the exception of RGB lighting, of course.

Why not just use the arrow keys under the wheel? I just used that button for push to talk.
it does only come in yellow. i dont like the yellow or the two tone numberpad. i think corsair should keep the design elegant that theyre known for. they dont need to follow the crowd and make things "gamer"-y.

I really can't stand when vendors put all these non-neutral colors on their products. The yellow accent on this mouse is definitely a factor of me not buying it, even though I'd really like to test it out. I know it's a crazy thing to gripe about but I'm a stickler like that. If you're going to do something like that, at least make the colored parts easily replaceable so people can customize it for their own setups.

I have never regretted buying this mouse more than I have ever regretted a mouse in my life time and that does include any old ass rollerball mouse. The middle mouse wheel button has some plastic parts connected to it internally. It randomly broke, and now what the f is the point of the mouse if I do not have a middle mouse button. I cannot even open it to fix it. It is a total waste of time. The software is good, I really liked ... except the software may crash and then all of your keybindings are gone. Do you have any idea how long every key on a 12 button mouse takes to program? Dude. Hours. F*** Y** corsair. What good is a genji, if I cannot use middle mouse button for Melee. What good is a mouse that cannot melee. I don't want the stupid warranty. I want a mouse that lasts longer that five months.

I got this mouse fucking hated it. your fingers drag on the mat when you use the 1 4 7 10 keys. the mouse is super temperamental. the mouse looks cool... and bajheera endorses it... im a big fan it was a huge huge let down. proceed with caution. ive used nagas for yeaaaars I went from the molten to the scimitar. returned it and got the new naga chroma. I'm much more happy with this mouse. you get the 2 extra buttons from the side push of the scroll wheel. the mouse feels super comfy. the buttons have way better separation. ( I found that when I using the scimitar often buttons would get pushed that I didnt want to push) the buttons also feel a whole lot more snappy. the software from razer is more user friendly and a lot more hassle free. I hope corsair steps their game up. razer has been doing it for a long ass time with the MMO mouse. if corsair wants to be a strong option in the category they should step their game up. High price mediocre quality.
