Last Night at the 'Stick

Since April 12, 1960, fans have packed Candlestick Park for games and concerts. Vice President Richard Nixon threw out the first pitch there, the Beatles played their last concert there, and the stadium stood strong during the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989.
On December 23, 2013, the 49ers played their final regular season football game at the 'Stick.
For now, Candlestick Park sits empty, and KQED's tribute to the iconic stadium is this time-lapse video of the December 23rd game.

Levi's Stadium will become the official home of the San Francisco 49ers ONLY WHEN we win playoff games there. Candlestick was our home because it was full of historic moments and memories. Levi's Stadium hasn't hosted any BIG 49er victories. It may be our house but it's not our home... yet.

Five year check in. We’ve won some games there, but for me Levi’s will never be home in Santa Clara. Team needs to be back in SF. Hopefully I get to see that in my lifetime.

I am 12 now and i have went to candlestick since i was 2 and have a plaque that says my first 49er game
I miss the old place that is our home
Levi's is just the 49ers current stadium
I miss the old place and i hate levi's
