  • On my recent visit to OCRC (track in Huntington Beach, CA), I met Scott Adkins, TLR driver, running his 22 buggy. I asked for some set up/tips on the 22 and he was quite happy to give me some help on my 22. He spent some good time giving me mostly adjustments to help my buggy not break loose on the turns coming off of speed. Great guy!

    Also check out the set up sheets online, there are OCRC specific sheets. I believe Frank Root (TLR driver) has one out there and his home track is OCRC.

    Yeah, I've been pretty lucky.... Scott Adkins was the only one I actually approached, as he was by himself I've seen Rhonda Drake and her TLR crew.....Matt Olson from Team MIP including the owner, Eustace Moore, Ton Jones from Auction Hunters getting "Sponsored" by Team Associated...Kinda strange! All in all, OCRC is a great place to see the pros!

    Yeah, I have been thinking about a b4.2 or an RB6. Also have looked at the T4.2. I have that Tekin combo waiting for a new ride! Not sure on the fan. My R10 Pro measures 32mm from chassis (with parma tape) to the top of the screws holding the fan in place.

    I've never liked buggys but tlr truely made the 22 look awesome and I actually want one. I've never seen a buggy steer like this one does.

      Yeah, there's something about the 22 with the aluminum chassis and the full re-design that makes it great

    Good video! I just built my 22 on Wednesday. I'm running the same ESC And Motor! thanks for the tips

  • @TheRCNetwork

    It does pretty good, plenty of power and stays pretty cool (in motor temp terms). I wanted to do a more budget conscious build vs all out with a Tekin RS Pro, custom motor, etc.

    Nice! I currently have a B44.2 with the R10 Pro ESC from Orion. The TLR22 was a budget build to be under $350 (I picked up the roller used) It was a great car, but I'm not a 2wd guy.

    If u shave the rear shock tower down where the speed control is u can fit our spcontrol with fan + have a better center of gravity

    We miss this buggy!!! Get a B4.2 to add to the b44.2 collection.Do you think a r10 with the fan mounted will fit in a b4.2 bulldog body???

    Hey, on my tlr 22 and tlr22sct im runnin the 1.5mm rear hexes but the locking nuts arnt "locking" since the stud doesnt come out far enough. What did you do?
    Thanks

  • @TheRCNetwork
    @TheRCNetwork  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    2s only! You don't need 3s in this buggy. As for gearing, stock spur and a 24t pinion

  • @SnakeProductionsmp
    @SnakeProductionsmp 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    thanks, but I think my esc is too big to fit in the car with the body on., what do you think ?

    @Goprorccar 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey, got the combo for my tlr 22. I was wondering what your gearing is and do you run this gearing on 3s or 2s battery. Thanks

      @TheRCNetwork  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I started with a 20t, but later ramped up to a 22t. I run at a very large indoor clay track though

    hi thanks for the tips, did you actually do these tips and did it help, was at a clay track today and mine would get loose at the end of the straight away when i brake to make a left turn.

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      SuperBubba360 I did. They helped out about a good 25%.....Saucing the tires helped the other 75% at least in my case

    • @SuperBubba360
      @SuperBubba360 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      maybe you can help. i have a losi 22 and at the end of the straight away when i have to brake and make a 90 degree left, my buggy loses traction and spins out. I've sauce my tires. can under gearing cause this, after a 10 minute run my bl motor is 110 degrees fahrenheit.

    • @TheFringes.
      @TheFringes. 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +SuperBubba360 Under gearing can reduce overall speed, it won't affect handling. If you run mid-motor, try rear motor instead. Tune suspension, raise the front, lower the rear, adjust roll centers, etc.

    Hi again , as I value your opinion and you respond quicker than anyone on here can u tell me which u would get for club racing and just having fun. This or the associated b4.2 ? Both the same price online here in uk and seems to have similar stats although I will say I already run other losi so have ec3 batteries etc no deans ! And what the deal with 13t 17t fiasco that I here online surely u could just change the motor if u needed to? Thanks !

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      chris wallis It's all determined in your class that you plan to race. 17.5t motor vs 13.5t motor. The lower the turn, the faster the class. Then it's all about set up and how fast you can turn laps. Stock class in my area is probably more competitive than mod. As for the B4.2, you can get some great deals since the newer model (B5/B5M) has come out. It really comes down to part support in your local area.

    as a upcoming rc racer to be (not pro just for fun) would you suggest racing stadium truck, short course, or buggy and why? :D

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check out your local track and see what's popular. At my track, 2wd Buggy is probably the most popular - start with stock motor class and move up.

      do you know if there is a video on how to change the motor from rear to mid motor? i have two losi 22 2.0 and both are rear motor so would like to convert one to mid motor but don't know how to so would like to watch a video on it.

      You might be able to find one out there maybe on ebay or a mom/pop hobby store, otherwise the TLR22 2.0 is now available with all the updated parts/features

    I'm nearly finished building my 22 I picked up 2nd hand unbuilt. Just need to paint the body and for the battery to get in. I went for a mid motor setup, think that will give best handling. Becuz I dont plan to race with my 22 and I don't like them I'm not using the wheels that come with the kit. But the new wheels don't take the hex on the front axles but take a pen. Been thinking of replacing the front axle's with one's that tak pins. Does anyone have any ideas on what will fit with little or no modification.

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Martin Whitney I thought all 22's used 12mm hexes front and rear.....No pin drive

    • @MartinPeterWhitney
      @MartinPeterWhitney 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The RCNetwork Yes, the 22 comes with hexes front and rear. But the wheels I plan on using on the front has pins, like the Traxxas Bandit has. I was thinking it would be easier to swop the axles than modify the wheels every time I get new one's.

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's kind of a downgrade, going back to pins.....

    • @MartinPeterWhitney
      @MartinPeterWhitney 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      The RCNetwork Hadent thought of it that way. Think I'll try it as is, and see haw it rids. Thanks for the input.

      Martin Whitney Have a look on Amain. There are quite a few aftermarket rims available. Im not a fan of the factory rims either so went for the DE racing matt black rims and did a black body with flat clear on the outside. Looks shit hot and have had a lot of compliments on it.
