I am a "no-no" chunky shoes myself. These pair wont look chunky/beefy at all. The back + side walls, tongue, toe box are made up by mesh fabric, thin foams, etc. The soles are standard/classic thick....they wont make you feel like exaggerated astronauts looking sneakers out there.

You can check that out too. They have thinner soles & ultra light weight. But it's all personal preference... : )

Hi Gokay I have not tried the GEL contend 8 before. But if you were to compare Asics GEL 1130 vs GEL 1090. The 1130 is the winner.
