Hey Adam, enjoyed your Video and talk. One thing I would disagree is your take on Ebel. I remember, in the 80s, these watches were more popular in Germany than nearly anything. Boris Becker used to wear them in his prime and i still think, they have Done some really nice watches. Wish You all the best, Greets from Baden-Baden Germany 👋🏻
Wish I could attended the event. Bummer I’ve been looking for other watch meetups in LA. Does anyone know of others or good watch communities to look into here in LA?
Hey, Ebel made some pretty cool watches so don't completely knock them if people like them or are just discovering some of the cool 1911s and wave bracelets.
Undoubtedly, if you like them, go for it and enjoy it…BUT, there has been a quiet effort by some people (mainly one person in particular who quietly bought up a lot of them) to prop up the market for them. And it’s clear what the motivation is, and I think a bunch of people will get stuck holding the bag. Just wait till you see 20 of them in a “curated” auction sell for a large amount, only to be worth a fraction in reality the next day.
@@mentawatches If that's the case, then I do agree that that's shady to do. If it's just collectors loving them, that's one thing, but if a dealer is doing the pushing for profits, then that's wholly different and not great form. Interesting to hear who it would be...
It must be real challenge to have box and papers for a 50 + year old watch. Sure now these days we all store everything since we live in competitive world but back in the day people I guess didnt care so much.
What’s your favorite of the 3 watches Ken showed us?
pre-Daytona
Pre Daytona hands down.
I like the automatic in an Oysterquartz case. Very cool! I've always liked that case style, but have never had an Oysterquartz.
That 6238 is right up my alley. I lust after a nice 3525 for myself. One day...
I love Ken, such a nice guy, always happy and always laughing
“Nobody on line in Starbucks in front of you or behind you will be wearing this watch”. My favorite line of the whole video!
Great content. I just love seeing all these vintage watches...not just Rolex, Rolex, Rolex...!!!!
Lovely show, awesome vintage pieces, much more Adam🙏🙏🙏
Thank you kindly
I’m new to this channel but I honestly think it’s becoming my favourite watch channel x
Ken is a fantastic guy.... makes collecting a joy with his unbelievable knowledge.
That was a great episode. Really enjoyed both getting to know more about Ken and Wes.
Wanna Buy a Watch! LA classic, love that store...
Great episode. You're my favorite watch channel by far. The increase in production quality is just icing on the cake 💯
Some really great pieces were shown today!
Glad you like them!
Super cool video Adam. Can’t wait to visit West Hollywood again.
Very enjoyable video nice to talk about older watches.
Great video. Love hearing about vintage watches which I know little about. Just bought my first vintage watch. A JLC from the 40s
Ken is an Og! Love it! 🖤🎩
I have bought watches and rings from 'Wanna Buy A Watch.' Great shop, watches, service and Ken is a great guy.
Love Dr. Ken & Wanna Buy a Watch. Vintage watches are also more appropriately sized for itty bitty wrists.
Super interesting as usual Adam. My favourite watch content creator

I Wanna Buy a Watch. My trip is booked.
My eyes gravitated to that gold daytona. GMT was fire as well. Can anyone blame me?
Nope!

Hey, what happened to the 10k subs watch give away?
It was yesterday!

Especially when you consider these watches were not worth much…
Rolexes were cheap back then before they controlled supply and demand plus marketed them as the symbol of success.
$6,800 for that no way
