I switched to a Yellow/Blue plastic Top hand roller because of this very problem, with all 3 of my Top-Ohdammit-Matics, over many years. Been using the plastic hand roller for over two years now. Well until I broke it & then decided to find your video here! I super glued a standard used yellow 3M ear plug in that location and they all work perfectly. Thanks for sharing! Smokes here in Minnesota are $10+ a pack, $6+ for the Montego at certain places. So going back to less then $1 a pack rolling my own frees up a lot more needed Fuel, Fishing bait & Ammo $$$, lol

This guy has a brain..the 16 thumbs down people do not. This is the fix for not just jammed, but the main problem for all of tube not filling down at the filter. Best video advice ever on all of TH-cam (if you're a RYO'er only of course). Stress relief and peace of mind for the whole house, pets included like others have said. No more cussing😃. Also I have a T2 and it works perfect now just like his T1.

You are a legend. I smashed one of my rollers on the ground after ruining more than 20 tubes just to make 1 smokeable cigarette. I bought a new roller and it started doing the same shit after a few months. Tonight I use a little silicone tape on my new one and I used a little bit of hot glue on one of my older ones that had the same problem. Both work great now. I think the hot glue may hold up better than the tape, but they both roll nice full cigarettes now. Thanks for the info on how to do a quick fix.
I am in disbelief! I just bought another top o matic as they last maybe 400-450 packs. Then they short fill/1/2 fill ect. Your easy quick repair works!! I -fixed- both my old machines and they work like new! Wish I was there to buy you a few beers! Thank you!!

Thank you so much. My first top roller lasted 15 years with no problems. Got a new one for the new place, started messing up after 6 months. Your suggestion fixed it perfectly. Edit: I took a look at my old roller that never had a problem, it has a pointed end on that piece given us problems that keeps it from going too far. They rounded it off in the later versions.

Hey brother, thank you for this simple tutorial. I have been making my own cigarettes for a long time now and on average, these machines usually last about 3-5 months before they start going south on me. I've bought several of these every time they went bad and tried this little adjust on the one I'm using now and completely cleared up the issue. I'll do the same for the other 5 I have and will have plenty of back ups now. I tried to figure it out a while ago and never thought to look at the armature over extending, kinda feel like an idiot but thanks again for the heads up.
Hey, I wanted to tell you that if you're at the bottom of the bag, down to that shit powder tobacco, use about half of what would be for the amount for a cigarette, and tear or cut about 1/4 of an inch off the end of your tube, and the tobacco will go to the filter. I absolutely hate it when there's a huge gap between the filter and the tobacco. If you do this, you won't have to try and tear them and flip them. it makes your smokes about the same size as those short Marlboro packs that they sell for about a buck less than the full size. Also by adding less tobacco it's much easier to make a smoke with that bottom of the bag garbage. I usually just buy a new bag when I get down to that, but sometimes I'm either to broke, or it's to late at night to bother. I hope this helps you out. Peace..

After buying and replacing part after part (H bracket) (spoon injector) (tube clamp) (injector lever) (cost of shipping) practically the cost of just buying a whole new one to no avail it still had the same problem as yours. The wear on one side of the tamper gate cutter nub as I'll call it so slight I didn't even notice it so never thought to buy the tamper gate cutter. After watching your video I also saw the same play in the operation and instead of buying another part plus $7.00 shipping again I simply gorilla glued a dime to the same position as your double sided tape padding instead and BULLSEYE ! The machine works flawlessly, thank you for sharing how to fix this problem.
a couple felt-stickers !?!? .... This is my second machine which eventually developed the same issue . I've upgraded springs , tweaked and bent and adjusted , dissassembled and reassembled .... Those little stickers made it work perfect again .Thank you Sir !!!

Wow ! You are a Top O Matic Genius ! I've had jamming and 1/2 filled tube problems for years with 2 of these damn machines. I replaced the 09 short spring and added a rubberband to it to add more tension to the 08 rubber cover. I've also rebent the injector to adjust it's diameter using a phillips screwdriver as a form and pliers to squeeze to injector. I have also blamed the problems on the consistency of the Great Stuff tobacco which changes with it's moisture content. It goes from nice pliable shredded leaf to fine powder as it quickly dries out. I suspect the fine dry powder to be problematic even with a new machine. Anyway, your video fix with the foam pad limiter is a winner. Other videos on the subject are on the wrong track. Yours got right to the heart of the problem and solved it at no cost. The little studs on the 010 tamper that connect to the 018 link are the main culprit when they're worn, creating unwanted slack/play and reducing firm pressure on the tamper. That in turn causes the tobacco to be malformed. I've wasted a lot of tubes and dried up powdered tobacco. As soon as I tried your fix, BINGO. Thank You HaleyFix. As a footnote; as Top O Matic/Republic tobacco has likely figured out that the "010" tamper is their top seller of their replacement parts, it's probably no coincidence that it's, by far, their most expensive replacement part. $$$
Well thank you for taking the time to make the video. Went back to the cheap plastic roller thing and while smoking that perfect cigarette I had to Google what was wrong with my expensive metal one. Took like a minute to fix. Kinda feel dumb for not seeing the play in it even after seeing how worn those were. I stupidly didn't think the play would make such hard logs but instead just make loose cigarettes. Night and day. Thank you again.
Thanks for posting this fix. My machine was also failing to fill tubes, jamming, and tearing incomplete cigarettes. I stuck a piece of adhesive felt next to the small spring and it works great now.

Thanks for a helpful video and saving me money on buying a new machine! I ended up taking an old, super thin fridge magnet and cutting it into a few small strips. I then stacked a couple pieces together and stuck them to the inside. It was a two minute fix that worked like a charm. You rock!
I was having the same problem; thought it was the years-old machine, so I bought a new one, but had the same issue only a few months later. Instead of tape, I used a self-adhesive bumper that's normally for keeping cabinet doors from knocking against the frame. (I work in a cabinet shop, so I have tons of them...! :) ) Was the perfect thickness for this fix and easily replaceable when it wears out or falls off. Thanks for making this video, mate... you've helped my blood pressure go down several dozen points...! LOL

I Just slapped in two stacked pieces of 3m i had in my junk drawer and tossed some dry ass shreds into the machine. 2 seconds ago that mess would have plugged my machine but I swung that lever down and it filled the sexiest cigg ive rolled in months!! I have a t2 machine that’s a few months old and it just started jamming. Not real handy like that in a semi. Did your fix and now it’s working great, probably the same thing with the last 2 I had. I’ll fix those when I get home. Your a lifesaver. Apparently the extra money for the t2 is for the chrome.

THANK YOU for posting this! It got so bad that I was questioning my worth as a human 🤣🤣🤣 I am on a VERY small, fixed income and wasn't looking forward to trying to budget a new unit. I didn't have any of that packing foam material, but I had some self-adhesive rubber material used to seal around door and window openings that worked just great! Not that cheap foam stuff, but the rubber stuff

I was almost pulling my hair out tonight, I have two Top O Matic machine's, that have given me a sore arm because they have gotten hard to pull the handle, and not filling the tubes, I came across your video, and I said let me give this a try, although I didn't have any double sided tape available, I had a piece of wide foam, I cut it into a small piece, and used electrical tape to adhere it, and it was like magic!, Thank you so much for sharing this.

I just did this to mine exept i put some duct tape with some medical pad kinda like bandaid meteral and it rolls better than new and your fix was amazing and im forever greatful. I think top should fix these machines to benifet from this and pay you for your genious idea. Thanks from missouri .😊
I went through 6 top o matics with the same problem and then I watched this video and it fixed everything. Note . Instead of using the sticky foam thing . I took a xbox live gift card . Cut it to the same size as the foam in the video then layered it 4 to five strips together so it had no give what so ever and it last a long time . Thanks 4 ur help .

Finally a fix for this piece of shit lol!! I used to have the top o matic t2 chrome machine and never had many problems but I quit 3 years ago and sold it, my ex gave me this exact machine cause she bought 3 of them cause of this exact issue and I've been close to throwing this machine out in the yard and shoot it but it finally works now! I used 3 of the little cloth circles that are in the bottom corner of cabinets and stacked 3 of them together and put it in that exact place and everything works now, no more halfway filling cigarettes or that damn jamming issue, if I could buy you a beer I would sir!!

I'm having that same issue as you PLUS the jagged injector whodad occasionally rips through the side of the tube. I've bent that thing this way and that way. Nothing fixes the issue. Now that I've seen your video. It makes perfect sense. Ugh... thank you for the enlightenment. Also for making me feel dumb. LOL
Your trick worked. I used super glue and a rubber bushing. It still rolls rough, probably because I jammed it too often. Before: Probably 1 in 6 cigarettes loaded right. Now it's 9 out of 10. Thank you.

My 1st cigarette machine lasted about 8 yrs before the injector got bent and I just went bought a new one. Ain't had it about 6 months and have had problems out of it jamming for about 3 months so thanks for this video I have a backup roller given to me awhile back that I think 🤔 I can fix using this same method.
OMG! You're so friggin' smart and the lifesaver of my top-o-matic. I was so frustrated with the jams I almost chucked the thing even though it's only a few months old. Even if I was able to shove some tobacco through the cigarette was still really crappy, cherries falling off the end, not enough tobacco in the tube, etc. Good thing I found your video. I got some old cloth, taped it to the inside like you did and wha-la! Who'd have known? Glad you knew though. Saved me from throwing the machine out the window. lol

After buying and replacing part after part (H bracket) (spoon injector) (tube clamp) (injector lever) (cost of shipping) practically the cost of just buying a whole new one to no avail it still had the same problem as yours. The wear on one side of the tamper gate cutter nub as I'll call it so slight I didn't even notice it so never thought to buy the tamper gate cutter. After watching your video I also saw the same play in the operation and instead of buying another part plus $7.00 shipping again I simply gorilla glued a dime to the same position as your double sided tape padding instead and BULLSEYE ! The machine works flawlessly, thank you for sharing how to fix this problem.
a couple felt-stickers !?!? .... This is my second machine which eventually developed the same issue . I've upgraded springs , tweaked and bent and adjusted , dissassembled and reassembled .... Those little stickers made it work perfect again .Thank you Sir !!!

Wow ! You are a Top O Matic Genius ! I've had jamming and 1/2 filled tube problems for years with 2 of these damn machines. I replaced the 09 short spring and added a rubberband to it to add more tension to the 08 rubber cover. I've also rebent the injector to adjust it's diameter using a phillips screwdriver as a form and pliers to squeeze to injector. I have also blamed the problems on the consistency of the Great Stuff tobacco which changes with it's moisture content. It goes from nice pliable shredded leaf to fine powder as it quickly dries out. I suspect the fine dry powder to be problematic even with a new machine. Anyway, your video fix with the foam pad limiter is a winner. Other videos on the subject are on the wrong track. Yours got right to the heart of the problem and solved it at no cost. The little studs on the 010 tamper that connect to the 018 link are the main culprit when they're worn, creating unwanted slack/play and reducing firm pressure on the tamper. That in turn causes the tobacco to be malformed. I've wasted a lot of tubes and dried up powdered tobacco. As soon as I tried your fix, BINGO. Thank You HaleyFix. As a footnote; as Top O Matic/Republic tobacco has likely figured out that the "010" tamper is their top seller of their replacement parts, it's probably no coincidence that it's, by far, their most expensive replacement part. $$$
Well thank you for taking the time to make the video. Went back to the cheap plastic roller thing and while smoking that perfect cigarette I had to Google what was wrong with my expensive metal one. Took like a minute to fix. Kinda feel dumb for not seeing the play in it even after seeing how worn those were. I stupidly didn't think the play would make such hard logs but instead just make loose cigarettes. Night and day. Thank you again.

Thanks for posting this fix. My machine was also failing to fill tubes, jamming, and tearing incomplete cigarettes. I stuck a piece of adhesive felt next to the small spring and it works great now.

Thanks for a helpful video and saving me money on buying a new machine! I ended up taking an old, super thin fridge magnet and cutting it into a few small strips. I then stacked a couple pieces together and stuck them to the inside. It was a two minute fix that worked like a charm. You rock!

I was having the same problem; thought it was the years-old machine, so I bought a new one, but had the same issue only a few months later. Instead of tape, I used a self-adhesive bumper that's normally for keeping cabinet doors from knocking against the frame. (I work in a cabinet shop, so I have tons of them...! :) ) Was the perfect thickness for this fix and easily replaceable when it wears out or falls off. Thanks for making this video, mate... you've helped my blood pressure go down several dozen points...! LOL

I have a t2 machine that’s a few months old and it just started jamming. Not real handy like that in a semi. Did your fix and now it’s working great, probably the same thing with the last 2 I had. I’ll fix those when I get home. Your a lifesaver. Apparently the extra money for the t2 is for the chrome.

THANK YOU for posting this! It got so bad that I was questioning my worth as a human 🤣🤣🤣 I am on a VERY small, fixed income and wasn't looking forward to trying to budget a new unit. I didn't have any of that packing foam material, but I had some self-adhesive rubber material used to seal around door and window openings that worked just great! Not that cheap foam stuff, but the rubber stuff

I just did this to mine exept i put some duct tape with some medical pad kinda like bandaid meteral and it rolls better than new and your fix was amazing and im forever greatful. I think top should fix these machines to benifet from this and pay you for your genious idea. Thanks from missouri .😊

I went through 6 top o matics with the same problem and then I watched this video and it fixed everything. Note . Instead of using the sticky foam thing . I took a xbox live gift card . Cut it to the same size as the foam in the video then layered it 4 to five strips together so it had no give what so ever and it last a long time . Thanks 4 ur help .

Finally a fix for this piece of shit lol!! I used to have the top o matic t2 chrome machine and never had many problems but I quit 3 years ago and sold it, my ex gave me this exact machine cause she bought 3 of them cause of this exact issue and I've been close to throwing this machine out in the yard and shoot it but it finally works now! I used 3 of the little cloth circles that are in the bottom corner of cabinets and stacked 3 of them together and put it in that exact place and everything works now, no more halfway filling cigarettes or that damn jamming issue, if I could buy you a beer I would sir!!

I'm having that same issue as you PLUS the jagged injector whodad occasionally rips through the side of the tube. I've bent that thing this way and that way. Nothing fixes the issue. Now that I've seen your video. It makes perfect sense. Ugh... thank you for the enlightenment. Also for making me feel dumb. LOL
Your trick worked. I used super glue and a rubber bushing. It still rolls rough, probably because I jammed it too often. Before: Probably 1 in 6 cigarettes loaded right. Now it's 9 out of 10. Thank you.

Dude thanks for the video I just used a piece of rolled up toilet paper 🧻 to fix mine. LoL 😆. But it works. At least until I can get me some of those sticky pads. My 1st cigarette machine lasted about 8 yrs before the injector got bent and I just went bought a new one. Ain't had it about 6 months and have had problems out of it jamming for about 3 months so thanks for this video I have a backup roller given to me awhile back that I think 🤔 I can fix using this same method.
OMG! You're so friggin' smart and the lifesaver of my top-o-matic. I was so frustrated with the jams I almost chucked the thing even though it's only a few months old. Even if I was able to shove some tobacco through the cigarette was still really crappy, cherries falling off the end, not enough tobacco in the tube, etc. Good thing I found your video. I got some old cloth, taped it to the inside like you did and wha-la! Who'd have known? Glad you knew though. Saved me from throwing the machine out the window. lol
