because it is sincere and more natural. that is my feeling on why it touches you more. i never ever liked shannon hoon singing over axl's voice. i mean, why on earth would you layer the vocals of another singer over the vocal of axl rose? who has one of the best and unique singing voices of all time? it made no sense to me. i mean, i know axl really liked shannon and he basically gave him his start by letting him in the studio to play on stuff. so i guess that is the answer right there. no offense to shannon hoon. he is talented. and rip. but, i mean, come on. people wanted to buy a cd with axl rose's iconic voice on it.
This is a perfect example of how a producer strengthens and also ruins a song at the same time. Mike Clink made this track a star hit when recorded on USE YOUR ILLUSION I, but also took away this magic.
