I'm 21 years old, this is a childhood movie of mine that I can barely remember, and I'm absolutely delighted I rewatched it. I cried when Z came out in public. Tears, literal tears.
Such an epic movie. So many lessons and so many deep stuff in it. Really great childhood memory. But what I like most is that it makes me wanna go surfing. I think it perfectly shows how it feels to surf...what it is all about. Now that is what I call a damn good movie!
Why wasn't this nominated at the Kids' Choice Awards?! Meanwhile, that piece of rubbish they call Frozen WON at ITS Kids' Choice Awards! WHAT THE HEY?!
And Tank and Chick Hicks are the selfish rivals. Chicken Joe and Mater are the goofy friends. Fitting that both movies have the same message: There's more things important than winning.
and yet I find cars focuses more on the friends and the journey and the experiences made along the way, while surfsup talks about being someone and not something, losing but having fun
Pixar Cars also reminds me of Dreamworks Shrek and Madagascar like Lightning McQueen was rude and selfish, and wanted to be alone and Shrek was also rude and selfish, and wanted to be alone and like Lightning McQueen was arrogant and cocky, and a show off and Alex The Lion was also arrogant and cocky, and a show off

This is just my opinion but for me: The society specially that otter thought surfing as competition, to the point of hunger in winning Big Z values thought as surfing is not a competition but its for fun that's why, (IM NOT A LEGEND IM JUST A GUY LOOKING FOR NICE WAVES AND GOOD FRIENDS) This is just my theory but i think that's the reason why he gave up because surfing for him is not for competition or who is winner man! he just living his life for a fun not for winning

As an adult, I wouldn't be surprised if Cody nevee returned to his hometown; everyone there either didn't care about Cody or his dream, or people like his brother, would BULLY and BELITTLE him! For his entire life, Cody wanted to be like Zeke (Big Z) because he was like a hero to him. As the flashback showed Cody as a child, he probably had just lost his father, which didn't help with Glen pushing him around and is ignored by his own mother! Hello, she literally stated, that 'he wasn't very impressive'! What kind of mother talks about their kid like that - on CAMERA, no less! Then, when they thought Cody won the competition, the mother acts like she'd been rooting for him from the start! Honestly, the only people that seem to be worthy family to Cody is Chicken Joe; the calm brother. Zeke, a father figure who teaches Cody the skills of surfing that eventually save his life, and how to be in the moment (winning isn't everything and shouldn't be!) Plus, I see Lani as more of a big-sister who teaches Cody to have fun!

I know that I cried when I first saw this movie. Now more than 10 years later I kinda want to cry again for some reason. Such an underrated movie
