I love videos like these. It's great to see videos on what to do in a country, but stuff like this is golden because it's so rare to find info on it. And especially if I'm going to be landing somewhere tired and jet-lagged, I want to know ahead of time what process I'm going to face for getting to the hotel so I can be prepared.
Pretty busy for midnight, when I crossed there was only two other people using CBX. Uber was $30 to SD Amtrak taxi was $60 , had to bite the bullet to make my train on time
Funny story: Took my kids to San Diego Easter weekend this year (never been, and didn't know San Diego was that close to Tijuana. My friend told us about a mall, that we googled and drove too. while driving the signs are starting to count down, that it was 3 more exit till the Mexico Border.. then 2 more exits. My kids and I are freaking out.. and screaming like crazy ppl. the exit for the mall was the very last exit. kmsl.. We laughed so hard!!! it was so funny. I always think of that now.
Oh yeah I did that before. I just wanted to go to the border and the signs kept saying intl border but we could not find the exit. We actually ended up crossing the border in our car on accident and had to figure out how to get back across. Waiting 3 hours in a line… I know exactly what you are saying.
CBX (Cross Border Xpress) is the service that allows you to cross the border between Tijuana and San Diego more quickly and safely. Important: due to government restrictions, inbound land border crossings from Mexico to the US are limited to essential travel.
Nice and informative video. Thanks for sharing! Didn't you get FMM card when you cross from SD to TJ? They issue tourists FMM cards upon entry to Mexico. I am surprised to learn that you had to fill out FMM card at CBX because I thought you would have already been issued an FMM upon your entry to Mexico. You just need to return that FMM card to Mexican Immigration at CBX when you leave Mexico. I am a little bit confused with the FMM form filling at CBX.
I don't understand why you did not take the cbx from California straight to the airport. Why would you go through a regular crossing and stay at a hotel when you could just simply go straight to the airport from a parking lot on the California side?
Learned quickly that you do NOT bring back (into the USA) the artisan clay pipes from the markets. ! Customs will confiscate & Break them in half in front of you :(
Dude, you don't need a compass card and you only needed to pay $2.50 for one way fair on the trolley. The $6 pass is if you gonna ride all day back and forth. Paying $200 bucks for a hotel room in Tijuana is highway robbery. I'm sure you could have gotten a 4 star hotel room for $60 bucks or so without even trying. I live in San Diego. How much you pay for the Taxi to the airport? you paying tourist prices.

I freaked when you said $200 for a room; I would have thought 40-50 at most.
It's a tourist trap, Cabo is expensive.
This was so helpful. its my first time going from LA to Tj using Amtrak and walking thru the border. Thank You!
How did it go?

Both of them

Did you do this with just an ID?
@@matthewbrown1666 yes. A passport ID card
I took it in 2018 not plane but trolley.
It's like culture shock when you cross into Mexico from the San Diego area. No other way to describe it!
I had a Honda CBX in 1979! LOL It was fast! Not quite like your trip! Thanks for the video!
Its a amazing video !!!

Great video. Quick question....why did you purchase the one day card for $6 instead of a one way fare for 2.50?
he probably want to come backa different way

Is there any record made of you crossing from USA to Mexico

Question. Did they scan your bags when you crossed the border into Mexico?
I don’t remember them doing that never thought about it
I'm UK living in Mexico but need to cross border to refresh my VISA. How long do I need to wait on USA side before I can walk back into Mexico?
Thank you for the walkthrough🙏.
Cali to Mexico isn't as rough as I thought. Not sure if you mentioned it, but this is on a weekday right?
Can I use my California real id
Thanks going there this coming Friday. Should I take my passport to make things easier?
I'm planning to fly into Tijuana next month... at CBX did they ask you for negative covid test?
I loved when you moved the shades away.. It seems like you had a "Beach front" but oooh lala.. ma que cosa.. tan FEA.. thanks for the advises
Their currency is pesos too?
Yep. Mexican Pesos.
Zona Centro ❤
Visit club eclipse, the girls there will take care of your every NEED! Not much peso’s!😮
I'm wanting to cross from USA to Mexico at this crossing next Friday (Sep 3) for a medical appointment. Is that possible to do in foot?
Should not be a problem. You can check both San Ysidro and Otay Mesa crossings.
@@IslandHopperTV awesome thanks brother
So did you need a passport or was just a regular ID okay ? ☺️
passport. it’s a diff country
Do you need a passport to cross into Mexico?
What kind of documentation do I need at the Tijuana airport to fly from there…? What about minors?
I just had passport
Do you speak Spanish?
Wait... are you Mexican? I seen you take the Mexican pass way in borders like, you have that citizenship
How much was the taxi ride?
Also do you have to be vaccinated to cross the border?
You should have recorded them questioning you
Did the cartels welcome you?

I was lucky they allowed my cbd cone wraps they just opened them and let me keep them
It’s not Tia Juana . It’s ti juana. Ugh . I hate that
Actually you can hate it all you want but the original name comes from “Rancho Tia Juana” you can look it up if you would like :)
@@IslandHopperTV How do Mexicans pronounce it? There’s no tia in Tijuana.

Tijuana is very ugly. I'd rather go down south more.
