- The LEGO Bricklink Designer Program is rising in popularity as the new form of LEGO ideas. In this video we are going to take a look back at all 15 LEGO sets that have released so far since 2021 to figure out if it was a good idea to buy these sets or if the value on them dropped like a rock.

Sherrif’s Safe is burned into my head given it’s on the front page of Bricklink for the MOCs category lol
I’m with you on that. It seems like Bricklink likes that set. 😂
You should discuss prices of sets actually sold not listed prices.
👍 I tried to price on the lower end of listings which would be more comparable to the actual sales completed but would also account for increasing prices as sets sell off.
It's harder to tell what regular Lego sets are going to appreciate in significant value over time, but even if the Bricklink Designer Program sets can't be purchased at a discount, the plus is that everyone will have purchased these sets for the same amount and that the likelihood of them all appreciating in value is much higher than most regular Lego sets, due to the limited stock. Whether the newer Bricklink sets will see as sharp an increase in value on the secondary market, it's hard to say, seeing that Bricklink has increased the number of sets available.
Do AFOL love mountains? I notice many mountain stuff. Maybe I should design a mountain railway pirate castle modular for the Bricklink Designer Program
Love Bricklink designer program Lego sets! Unique and limited.
Same here! I hope they keep running this program. I like anything unique and limited.
Another awesome video. I bought the station, observatory, bowling alley and fishing ship. I sold all but the observatory. They sold like hotcakes and all were built. Ironically I got into the series for the observatory and the exploratorium which didn't make it. Cant wait to get brickcross.
Awesome! That’s good info to know. I think the rarity of these sets definitely helps. Same here. Brick Cross is number one on my list!
Isnt it better to compare growth p.a. (or at least divide growth by months) instead of absolute growth? For investment purposes, it matters a lot how long your money is frozen into an asset, in particular Lego since it needs storage space. But still, its always surprising and fun to guess what people are going to ask for years later so thanks for your video :)
Thanks! Yes. Good point! The time definitely plays a role. I tried to keep it a little more simple for this video just to show total increase on value. I might do a video in the future getting deeper into the numbers.
Most profitable is probably the old castle
Close! But there are a couple ahead of it.
@@TheBrickQuest Lowenstein, Is most profitable, byfar... It's from the old designer program, AFOL With very rare sets, but u didn't include it ;)
Great video. So what sets are you getting from series 2? Am liking Brick Cross and Ominous Isle.
Thanks! Good call on Brick Cross and Ominous Isle! im going to grab one of each for sure and may end up getting 2 of Brick cross. Seems to be the most popular by far.
@@TheBrickQuest yeah, Ominous would be for the collection to go with Eldorado. Brick Cross am not sure how much I want it given Tiago’s video showed it’s height is only about half of the police station. It does have great detail though and probably doubles in value, so not much to lose.
@@TheBrickQuest I've 'accidentally' ended up wih two Brick Cross station orders (because I thought my initial order hadn't gone through). This puts me in a nice position (albeit one I hadn't originally planned for) of being able to keep (and even open and build) one set, and save the other one to eventually sell. Any thoughts or possible advice on the potential return for Brick Cross station and at what stage it might be best putting it on sale? Thank you.
Great timing :) What I already had noticed was the relatively mediocre rice in price of the trainstation. Baffles me, because that set is looking so good to me. Do you have any idea what could have caused this and how this relates to any new station sets in this program... ;) Maybe the price point?
That’s a great question and to be honest I don’t have a good answer. The train station does look great and maybe LEGO raised it just simply due to the fact of demand and popularity of the train sets. My best guess.
@@TheBrickQuest Thanks, and good luck tomorrow!
It's up 69% in one year. That's a great return for one year, but its full potential may be limited by its retail price of $400. It's easier for a $40 set to become a $200 set than a $400 set to become a $2000 set.
@@ubervocal8777 Precisely. Firstly, a lot of the sets with the biggest return on value are older sets, and, secondly, like you say, the cheaper Brinklink sets will tend to give a larger percentage return than the most expensive ones.
Awesome, this list was the absolute reverse of reality 😂😂😂
👍
