    The quantity of yeast can be reduced to 1 tspn...But make sure you don't skip it.
    Size of Sannas can be made a little smaller if you are not fond of big ones...

    What is the benefit of brown rice,is it taste or fermentation? I'm excited to try since i heard of sannas but don't have brown rice at the moment.

    • @HomefoodrecipesJovitaNoronha
      @HomefoodrecipesJovitaNoronha  ปีที่แล้ว

      It slightly enhances taste & makes it softer ...you can replace it with idly rice itself if you don't have.

    • @HomefoodrecipesJovitaNoronha

      No better prepare idlis with fresh batter for good results..

    • @HomefoodrecipesJovitaNoronha
      @HomefoodrecipesJovitaNoronha  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can prepare idlis & refrigerate it & steam again for re use ..or prepare less batter using a small measuring cup for all ingredients..

    • @HomefoodrecipesJovitaNoronha
      @HomefoodrecipesJovitaNoronha  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Idlis come out good if used on same day.Or you can make idlis & store idlis in refrigerator & steam before use.
      If you store batter better use it to make dosas.

    • @HomefoodrecipesJovitaNoronha

      Its better to steam idlis & keep the idlis in fridge.You can reheat it later.
      Batter once refrigerated will not give soft idlis...

    Hi jovita, can I replace the boiled rice with poha ? Or cooked white rice ??? Also what’s the consistency of the batter ? Usually idli batter is slightly thicker consistency. I am making it tomorrow for breakfast . Hope it turns out well . Fingers crossed. 🤗

    • @HomefoodrecipesJovitaNoronha
      @HomefoodrecipesJovitaNoronha  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can add cooked rice instead of boiled rice & the batter consistency needs to be flowing consistency not too thick not too thin .Good luck 👍😊

    • @HomefoodrecipesJovitaNoronha
      @HomefoodrecipesJovitaNoronha  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can also use a regular mixer grinder, but make sure the batter doesnt turn hot. To avoid this stone grinder is used which is common in every Mangalorean house / a traditional manual stone grinder( Vaan in konkani )can also be used.
