Idlis come out good if used on same day.Or you can make idlis & store idlis in refrigerator & steam before use. If you store batter better use it to make dosas.
It's supposed to be eaten with any non veg gravy..Check salt .Sugar not required actually. You can also have it with Sweetened coconut milk with a Lil cardamom if you like it sweet.
Hi jovita, can I replace the boiled rice with poha ? Or cooked white rice ??? Also what’s the consistency of the batter ? Usually idli batter is slightly thicker consistency. I am making it tomorrow for breakfast . Hope it turns out well . Fingers crossed. 🤗
can every effort to bring a stone grinder you people jut without thinking use thigs according to your budget we cannot go according to your ways of thinking
You can also use a regular mixer grinder, but make sure the batter doesnt turn hot. To avoid this stone grinder is used which is common in every Mangalorean house / a traditional manual stone grinder( Vaan in konkani )can also be used.
It's at 0.19secs . You can take screenshot . Or -3cups idli rice ( mutambo) or white rice 1cup red Rice ( ukdo) 1/2 cup urad daal Yeast 1 -2 tsp Sugar -3 tsp +1 for yeast activation

What is the benefit of brown rice,is it taste or fermentation? I'm excited to try since i heard of sannas but don't have brown rice at the moment.
It slightly enhances taste & makes it softer ...you can replace it with idly rice itself if you don't have.
@@HomefoodrecipesJovitaNoronha Thanks,it's a new learning and definitely shall pick it up too
thank you
Can we store this batter....as we make idli batter in excess and use it again
No better prepare idlis with fresh batter for good results..
You can prepare idlis & refrigerate it & steam again for re use ..or prepare less batter using a small measuring cup for all ingredients..
Too good I am surely trying this . Which grinder are you using ? Looks very compact.
Thank you.Its Vijayalakshmi
Thank you
Can we keep the batter and use for two days or should we finish it at one time
Idlis come out good if used on same day.Or you can make idlis & store idlis in refrigerator & steam before use.
If you store batter better use it to make dosas.
Can we keep the batter in freeze if it is more
Its better to steam idlis & keep the idlis in fridge. You can reheat it later.
Batter once refrigerated will not give soft idlis...

Hi Jovita, planning to try this sannas today.... Can it be ground in the mixer and will I get the same spongy sannas like yours.
Thanks.
Yes you can but make sure you grind it smooth & ferment well, grind daal first & then rice & mix well.

You can add cooked rice instead of boiled rice & the batter consistency needs to be flowing consistency not too thick not too thin .Good luck 👍😊
What catholic style?
We prepare using YEAST these idlis for special occasions & regular idlis with urad daal for breakfast.
@@HomefoodrecipesJovitaNoronha in bangalore its called malliage idli
Ok👍
Followed it but my Sannas became hard .. the batter was nice n frothy too ... where cud I have gone wrong
Was the yeast activated well ,did it become frothy?
Or may be batter did not ferment.
If yeast was well activated then may be the batter was not fermented
Can we use instant yeast
Yes mix 1 tsp instant yeast directly in batter & mix
