@@nickfrost9771 The only Floridians are the native Indians and they've been wiped out. Florida is bought and paid for by property developers from New York
Thank you for posting this! I'm flying home to Clearwater next week from Japan and I "HAD" reservations to stay in a motel this area. Apparently it received heavy damage. Praying for all those affected.
I feel so sad. I was visiting Clear water last April. My favourite place. This is one of the reason I always visit Florida and clear water in March or April. But I feel so bad for people and this beautiful place to be like this. Hope things will go well. I am sure it will be.
We are coming upon the 70th jubilee the Bible ( king James) teaches us. It’s about to intensify. Watch the sun 🌞 activity. The solar flare are constant now and it’s heating up the earth. My daughter was in Clearwater a year for residency. Beautiful place. But Georgia, Tennessee, the Carolina’s were hit hard too by Helene. This storm was a monster. One entire hospital in Tennessee is gone. They rescued staff & patients from the root top. Crazy stories coming out.
Thank you for making this. I just moved away from here this yr. 25 years of good times right here on this beach around pier 60. I am sad to see this but the footage is excellent.
I wouldn’t own near the beach not today but man is this gorgeous 🌞. I’ve been to FLA numerous times and always love that ocean 👏Makes me want to move down
All this sand pushed around makes me think 3 rooker island will be gone. Honeymoon, anclote island and sand bar - I’m sure all have some pretty big changes as well. Sad to see it all wash away.
First stop on trip to Florida in April was Clearwater Beach. So beautiful as were all the coastal towns on our way south. The gulf coast beaches will be back again and so we will we!
Hurricanes are mother nature’s way of cooling off an over heated part of the ocean. Hurricanes have also been drought breakers as well. But if you live anywhere on the gulf coast you’re going to have to prepare for an eventual hurricane hitting. If I had a house on the gulf coast it would be on strong concrete stilts far higher than the ones you see on the coast today and the entire structure would be concrete. If you can’t or won’t do that then don’t live on the coast where you’re at risk of hurricane ocean surges.
Man that’s a spot on comment. My family has been on or near coastal Florida for 3 generations. It’s different now. Since about 2004. We keep selling to them and moving back or far away. Developers don’t care, more and more people are unaware of what they are getting themselves into - although the relative unavailability of insurance should give them a clue. All concrete, self-insure and plenty of sunscreen and hats.
There are a lot of concrete homes on stilts in the FL Keys. And they seem to do pretty well with hurricanes if their roofs stay on. I saw some in Belize that had lost roofs and they were empty. But they don't have the same building codes. I grew up in Sarasota and I don't understand why they don't automatically build on stilts. Now I live by the Chesapeake Bay and I have the same question. We had a lot of rain yesterday from the storm and there were flood warnings. When we have really high tides some roads get wet without a storm. But the only stilt homes are right on the water. It's silly.
Thanks for your post 😢. I was just there the week of Memorial Day! I’ve been every year since 2020. I know they will have it looking good soon. 2025 I’ll be back!!
Wow! I was at a business convention at the Opal Sands (curved building with blue windows appearing toward the end of this video) 5 days before the hurricane hit. So odd to see Gulfview Boulevard so empty of cars, people, and beachgoers. I hope Salty's (across from the Opal Sands) and Frenchy's South are Ok ... Jimmy's Fish House, too, which is right behind the Holiday Inn on the water.
Hope they work with me. Supposed to be there the Oct. 9th. Air is Southwest, Opal Sands Resort and rental prepaid Budget rental car, what a pain but more important praying for all effected by the storm. The people out of work, loss of homes and income. Be safe! Thank you video and comments it is helping me make my mind up to try and reschedule my trip.
Praying 🙏 for Florida Whenever I go to Florida, thats my spot I usually go to besides Madeira 🏖️ and St. Petersburg 🏖️ 😢😢😢 have family n friends there it was my second home after hurricane 🌀 Katrina 😢😢😢
3:07 - Look at the various waterlines on these buildings. The highest ones are above the door knobs; deeper than anyone could walk through. The buildings are still standing but everything inside's been trashed by salt water. The business owners better have made sure they took their computers before the storm.
This is so sad to see. My son and I are there every other weekend to do metal detecting on the Beach. To see the area where we sit and wash the sand off our equipment, destroyed and covered with feet of sand is devastating. We hope the residents and workers who we see there are all ok and they are able to recover.
Thank you so much for posting this video!! All in all, I don’t think it looks that bad. I’m planning to be there in November, and I think it will be all cleaned up by then. The restaurants will take a while to come back, but I always pack my own lunch when I hit the beach 😀🏝️🏖️⛱️🌊☀️
Beachfront property seems to becoming a place to visit but not own, especially when no credible & reasonable insurance available. Millions of inexpensive illegal immigrants to the rescue & cleanup.
There was a reason nobody built anything on the beaches here in Florida until the early 1990s when the greedy developers came onto the scene and ruined the state
I hope they can take all the debris and let that contribute to the building of Sea Walls in appropriate places. It’s been done in San Francisco they built a small city on the bay and used appropriate debris. It been perfect for several decades
Most of the businesses are owned by wealthy individuals and conglomerates. They have the money to afford high insurance costs and they get a heafty payout in return thus why they're able to rebuild as fast as they do. Hurricanes to the wealthy and businesses means dollar signs and a new establishment. Little bit of clean-up, rebuilding and by next year serving tourist for the summer of 25'
And the rest of us who maybe are not as wealthy and live a bit further inland, on higher ground, will still have to pay higher insurance rates with crappier coverage.
@@excelsior999 Would never have returned to my home state if the military did not bring us here and currently working towards my spouse joining me in retirement. After that is attained you or anyone else can purchase our now overinflated priced house in the FL panhandle with skyrocketing insurance rates.
I'm not from Florida, but I thought Scientology owned the City of Clearwater. That's the way Scientology presents itself, some great presence that barged in and overtook the City in the 1970's. The cult members have purchased the entire downtown Clearwater area and are letting numerous buildings sit vacant. I hope that after this storm which flooded everything, the cult of Scientology will not let their properties rot. So far, they have not (after decades) revitalized their downtown properties, after promising City leaders to do so. Probably because this cult does not want outsiders nor tourists in "their" city.
