The RTI Act, 2005 has already been diluted by the central government. First Appellate Authority is out of the purview of the Act. The Delhi High Court has already passed order that infliction of penal action on Public Information Officers is the exclusive domain of the Information Commissioner and RTI appellant/ complainant has no role. Moreover, Information Commissioners being appointed are pliable and conciliatory towards govt. officers. Sad day for ordinary citizens of the country.
@@ManojBhallaKtl I will try locating it. It was quoted in my case by DHC, which was argued myself. Now at 70+ with a limited pension, I am unable to challenge this arbitrary law before the Supreme Court, as it requires a lot of research.
RTI brings the transparency in our system and it gives the citizens the opportunity to question the govt and authorities but diluting it shows that slowly we will lose this right, we must strive to preserve it...thank you newslaundry for bringing such an amazing story in front of us.

बड़े संघर्ष के बाद RTI का कानून बना आज मोदी सरकार इसे ख़तम करने पर तुली हुयी है. क्योके इस कानून के तहत सरकार ओर parshashan की पोल खुलती है
