I have a question about "messy buns". Are we all our own worst critics? Because I think everyone else's messy buns look great and mine are always a struggle and never turn out the same. But then I have people asking me about how to do my messy bun. So I don't know!!

I LOVE that you did an old-fashioned collab and a tutuorial. You've always been great at giving a demo with your reviews, but man I did miss your beautiful and very helpful tutorials. Yes we all have different facial structures and certain techniques tend to flatter some structures over others and we often return to those same flattering concepts day after day......BUT one feature of tutorials I am now really appreciating is color combos and back to basics. I've been a die hard makeup lover for years, but I strongly believe whatever your creative outlet is, we can always improve by looking back at our building blocks once in a while. And particularly lately I've been so uninspired to play with different colors. Pure black as a crease shade??? Why the heck not?! I love it! Thanks Emily. I'm absolutely going to watch Lisa's video now.

I greatly appreciate your discussion on the palette itself but also mentioning several times that you can recreate these looks with other shadows. It helps keep consumers grounded, I think, and prevents people who wouldn't really benefit from this *specific* product from the hype-purchase.

Gosh, love you to bits. I know I will be getting this palette. I don’t have a huge amount of makeup. I rotate what I use daily. It keeps my products in use, it also curbs my spending. It forces me to try new colors and skills. That being said, every special occasion I grab the Modern Renaissance. Having the Soft Glam will give me the colors and options I love with other options than the reds. So excited. Lovely review. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
