San Francisco is one of the most stunning cities in the nation with magnificent views everywhere you go around the city. I love San Francisco!

Hey Traveler. I Love San Francisco. I've been there twice. Those foggy San Fran mornings were classic. I've stayed at the Embarcadero and the St. Francis hotels. Very nice indeed.

My father in law, and my father both remarried at the church on the Presidio, and later my late husband and I got married there. We stayed a night at the accommodations there before flying out the next night to honeymoon in Greece. We actually met on a shuttle bus going from Northern California to the VA Hospital at the Presidio.

So glad you went to the national cemetery there. My wife’s gr-grandad is buried there, in the ellipse. He led the 30th Inf. Division in WWI and commanded the Hawaiian Department after the war. He was stationed at the Presidio many times, and loved being there. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Mann_Lewis

Even though I live here, I found this a fascinating video. You also have the uncanny knack of mapping your videos with the most appropriately atmospheric music. Hitchcock would give you a favorable nod.
I thought your Namibia videos were a summit of your achievement. I return to them frequently.
    You are a wonder.

San Francisco definitely has its problems but it is still one of the most beautiful cities in the country. I recently came back from a visit and I found the streets clean and people out shopping and enjoying the stunning views. Yes... there are too many mentally ill and homeless people wandering but in general, I found the city is mostly back. The food was amazing and I enjoyed all the distinct neighborhoods with their own unique character and residents.

What, Dr. LTE?? You were in town and didn't let me know? I could have joined you for cocktails and enjoyed the lovely view of the GG Bridge with you! If you stand in the middle of the bridge, facing east and look across the Bay, you will see a hill close to the Bay. I live about 1/2 mile behind that hill. In any event, I enjoyed seeing what has occurred at the Presidio during the many years since I last visited. Sometimes it takes an out-of-towner to show you what's so close to home. Hope you enjoyed our refreshing fog and the Pacific Ocean.

I like when designers exercise restraint when dealing with a historic place. They managde to honor the military past of those buildings whilst making them comfortable for patrons today. It seems like a very nice place to visit and spend some free time

I was stationed at the Presidio in 1966-1967, my last year in the Armey. The room number 218 was a Sergeants sleeping quarters I shared with another Sergeant. Although the room seems much smaller than what I remember, that tour brought back a lot of memories. Grateful!!

As Mark Twain is often quoted as saying "the coldest winter i ever saw was the summer I spent in San Francisco". San Francisco is really a beautiful city. I often visited the Presidio, but never stayed there.

Love it. Can't tell you why, but I do! Maybe it's the staying true to its history ... Does a hotel group run this? Or does the parks system? Loved the bugle display. I could hear the drill Sargents now .... and, all the lives resting on the decisions made in the rooms (offices) that held a fireplace .... the military vehicles coming and going. Also ... can hear Tony Bennett singing about where he left his heart ❤️ .... !! Nice trip down memory lane, dear LTE!! Also loved the music! And the submarine sculpture ....

apart from the wonderful views you showcased here and the comprehensive review of the hotel, I have one question: do you happen to know the bike model your son was riding? I love it, looks so elegant, yet sporty. Anyways, love your video, hope to someday pay a visit to San Francisco and stay at the Presidio

In 1990, my final outprocessing from the Army was at that location. There are other former Army posts that have repurposed buildings into hotels. One is the former FT Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis. The hotel there, like the one at the Presidio, has a distinctly Army feel to it but is very clean & sparse with a bit of cozy thrown in.

SF Native here, I loved your presentation! Calming music, smooth and slow camera work, and no talking! What I love so much about the structures in the Presidio is the care that renovators took to preserve the buildings and keeping them as original as possible. I live very close to Presidio and spend lots of time there but have never been inside either of the hotels so thanks for sharing! 👏🏽

The designers did very well translating a bureaucratic workspace into a luxury venue! The history of the building alone would be worth the price of admission. And that room view is priceless!

are you going to do a video on Cavallo Point Lodge which is directly across the bay and has views of the entire city? the rooms are wither newer condos OR the old 2-story houses with sun porches all surrounding a huge main lawn on the beach. GO CHECK IT OUT! And while in town go to ARSICAULT BAKERY for the best croissant and savory scone in America!!

Did you know that the bridge used to have a lower layer too, for trains? My cousin was driving over the bridge in her car when the big earthquake hit (1989) - that was quite traumatic. I love the park and the atmospheric images but they can keep their fog, thank you very much. Every day around 3 PM it came rolling in over the bay, making it humid and chilly. I think I prefer the Maldives and Tahiti ;-)
