- How is your Summer going so far? Ours is off to a great start with a home tour!
I kept putting off a full tour because we still have (several) projects that aren't quite finished. But that's real life and I never claimed to be HGTV!
So as you can see, we've tried to do the best with what we have. Nothing against a high budget renovation. I love a good before and after, just like anyone else!
But there is something very satisfying about staying frugal with your home makeovers, and decor. It CAN be done on a tight budget!
So I hope you enjoy your visit to our little piece of the world. My goal is that you'll be inspired to enjoy your own place, whether it's an apartment or a castle!

Omg…. That fireplace is gorgeous. I love your home. It’s so cozy and welcoming. I love your style too. Nothing in my house matches because I thrift items too. Thriftiness makes it a home…. It’s fun, quirky and me. The wallpapers used are beautiful. We have very low ceilings in our 1780’s Pennsylvania farmhouse too. The one room that really bothers me is our kitchen. Your kitchen looks amazing. The white really brightens up the space and that’s key. Thanks for inviting me into your beautiful cottage…farmhouse home.
Your house makes me happy and full of the warm fuzzies. It’s perfect. Not too over the top. Not pretentious, and not trying to be showy. It’s simply a perfect home.

I just saw your quilts. How wonderful to have quilts your grandma and great grandma made. I quilt and someday hope my quilts will be showcased and loved like yours. I know they are loved now but hope they survive for years to come.

What you said about that blanket on the back of your sofa is so important to understand about homes. We probably all want items that match perfectly with a style. An aesthetic to look like what we see online & in magazines. But there will always be those items that we absolutely fall in love with that just don't fit with our plans/ideas & there's just no way you can get rid of them for that reason. I have blankets that are years old that match nothing. But omg I'd never part with them. I think that's a home isn't it. A collection of our favourite things that kind of go together, but who really cares if they don't "match" cos it's based on love x
