    Really useful tutorials, thanks - some of the clearest I've come across, and worked perfectly for me in a test mission. No unnecessary details or chatter, just clear, concise, to the point. Thank you!

    I am so lucky I cam across this series. It has been such a huge help to visually see all these systems to use.

    Thank you so much! I’ve watched lots of TH-cam videos and read manuals but yours is perfect! To the point but hits all the points and easy to understand!

    Love the videos man, just came across your page and has been very helpful since I just got into dcs. The way you explain the buttons and what they do on screen is very helpful bc when adjusting controls there's so many and its nice knowing what they do when you explain. Thank you

    Nice tutorial, thank you. I’ve been wanting to get back into the F16 and this is a great start. I would suggest you explain how your actually locking up the individual targets. You didn’t do that in your example unless I missed it, but I was a little confused how you did that. When I hit the Enter key nothing happens, so a little confusing how to lock em up! Thanks again…

    @Deephack Thanks for the refresher. Since the last update I believe, I know longer can turned all tracked targets into system targets at the same time with TMS R short. It looked like you used the cursor hover over them, and I'm guessing used TMS R to turn each one into system targets one by one would that be correct?

    • @deephack
      @deephack  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not aware of any changes to this functionality. Both the TMS right for converting all and TMS up to convert single targets should work.

  • @nahuakang

    06:26 How did you get those 4 ships from NORM into EXP mode? Which TMS button would that be? :)

    • @deephack
      @deephack  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's a HOTAS command on the pinky button at the base of the stick also referred to as the expand/FOV switch.

  • @void1968able
    @void1968able 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Took me a while to understand: You are at the targets 6 o'clock, telling from the aspect diamond. You fly 609kts, the closure rate ist 570kts, means the target flies just 39kts (609-570=39). Then I saw it's Corrected airspeed so at FL20 you are 609+ approx 20% = 760kts True Airspeed. The closure range is also true airspeed, so the target is flying at 760kts-570kts=190kts True airspeed. Still pretty slow I think. Where's my error?

      In many sections of this video I had active pause on. In this mode my aircraft is frozen in space but everything else continues to move as normal. That will account for the strange values.

    How do you press the nose wheel steering long? I cant find it on the controls

    • @deephack
      @deephack  ปีที่แล้ว

      That just means to press and hold the NWS for more than 1 second.

    I’m having what TMS right short is like I’m in the f-16 and I don’t know how to lock a target and tms right short isn’t on controls what is it what key is it?

    • @deephack
      @deephack  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      TMS stands for Target Management Switch. You should find that in the controls under the HOTAS category.

    How did u expand without clicking the mfcd? Minute 6:20 I think

    • @deephack

      It's labelled "Expand/FOV button depress" in controls.

    Range of DCS AIM120's is ridiculous.

    • @deephack
      @deephack  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In a positive or negative way? I'm not really maximizing the range here. Best case is launch platform at high altitude and speed, attacking a non maneuvering target with a very high closure rate. That way you can launch much further out than you see here.

    • @FurballHero
      @FurballHero 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@deephack I can't say but it's not even close to realistic.
      Wikipedia says the aim120c has an operational range of over 57nm... I'll just leave it at that.

    • @deephack
      @deephack  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are no public sources we can look at for that kind of information so of course ED have do do a fair bit of reverse engineering and I doubt the result they get will be exactly the same as IRL. That said the AIM-120C-5 in DCS can achieve hits in absolute ideal conditions at out to 80+NM which seems a little far to me. The AIM-120D however I would expect can make hits like that fairly easily IRL.

    • @FurballHero
      @FurballHero 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@deephack nearly every public source I've looked at states over 50nm.

    • @FurballHero
      @FurballHero 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@deephack Also if you look up SLAMRAAM, they have a unclass range of 25km (13.49nm) firing from the ground. You can't tell me an air launched AIM120C has less energy than a ground based AIM120C SAM platform? haha
