I played in the World Premiere of this gorgeous work, commissioned by the Tolkien Society in Valparaiso, IN. My group is perhaps one of the ONLY groups in the world to have played all five of the Maestro's symphonies with him conducting.
Wonderful stuff. How does he believe he can achieve fame with this music when all around him write so differently today? Answer, he writes what people enjoy listening to rather than what he thinks they "should" hear. This is a lesson that 21st century composers must learn if "classical" music is to survive. An inspiring work for us all Mr De Meij, and for those performing it. P.S. The inclusion of lower string instruments in the wind orchestra is brilliant.

Een prachtige muzikaal werk
Toll ! Aber schade das ihr nicht mit mehreren Kamera Einstellungen gearbeitet habt , so wie bei Danzon .
